zdavenz
Hey i was thinking that maybe to ease the cost of Summoning, thered be a skill where you could make shards and pouches and what not instead of having to pay for all that junk. I dont know what to think of my own idea 'cos if there was a skill like this it'd make summon alot easier, but less hard and therefore less fun. Opinions? Triquos
Belongs in the ideas and suggestions forum  Also can you expand on your idea? I personally always thought there should be a spirit mine where you could mine your own spirit shards, but that's just my 2 cents. Also I don't think it would be a new skill, but an add on. tintin113
A whole skill dedicated to spirit shards and pouches would be pretty thin tbh lol. Pouches are only 1gp anyways, and without the price of spirit shards summoning would be an easy, cheap and really helpful skill that most players would be a really high level in, thus ruining it. So I'm afraid I don't agree. Thanks to Quarra for the awesome sig!Xbox360 Gamertag = Tintin113

highlanders
Here comes the hordes screaming "OMG no, shards are fine as they are. Summoning is hard a skill, it needs to stay hard!" The whole shard-buying thing was an arbitrary anti-inflation measure from Jagex, just like planking was, aswell as a poor attempt to make the skill "hard." It doesn't make the skill hard, it just wastes money. Look at prayer, it costs a lot, but that's because the bones are worth a lot. The skill could be completely free if you buried every single bone. That's what's good about it, you don't absolutely have to waste money on the way. For summoning shards, you don't have that. You can't say, train a skill very high, and craft yourself a nice pile of shards. That's a let down. You have to waste money, regardless of which method you take. Everything so far has been connected to other skills, it only makes sense that shards should be produced from a skill. Not from a whole new skill, but part of a skill. The shards would require materials to make, it wouldn't be free, it would still make summoning challenging, and at the same time it's a lot more interesting than just buying them from a shop. Zierro
How about the ability to mine magic rocks then chisel them into shards? I don't think a whole skill is needed for something this trivial, but we do need a better way to get them. Too costly. :x As for pouches, they are 1 Gp each. It would be pointless to make them. Dynamic1
As i think he^ was implying, making shards and pouches should just be incorporated into crafting and mining.
Krampell
I would say that Crafting would be the skill to make shards and pouches. Like... you can get a shard rock from a monster and you simply use a chisel on it and bam! You get like 5-10 shards or something.
AlexDT
Since summoning is heavily combat-related, perhaps some charm-dropping monsters could also drop varying amounts of spirit shards, much like coins?
Sam
Try to think things through first. Skills aren't supposed to be easy right? Skills are bound to get harder as you advance the levels -.- 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM

aspokaspofkjsopfkapo
Shards are fine as they are, there has to be at least some price to summoning considering how useful it is. If you could just go on as you usually do and turn your charms into pouches for free then a high summoning level would be something everyone could get. That said, it wouldn't hurt if monsters droped some shards.

True :-# what about spirit essense =D then use a chisel on it and select "craft all" and it slowly turns them into spirit shards =D would take slightly longer and would be pretty fair I think \ Either that or you would have to take the essense to a person (distance depends on how hard you wanna make it :P ) and he could make them into shards for half the price or even nothing at all
