Old school players, are those who played RSC Classic or Runescape in the beginning of it's start.

 

 

 

I am kinda fed up why players who's Old school thinks they are better than those who begined later...

 

 

 

No offence: But first Runescape version was the lamest think i have ever seen. I would not play it.

 

 

 

Now: those players who played during this time kinda feel like they are "Special", like if they know more...

 

 

 

What's up with that. I am sick of that attitude, and A old school is nothing but someone who's experienced beginning.

I've only seen a few of those people, and I kinda think this should go in rants instead..

I do think they deserve some respect as they are why Rs is here today. Also why rs is the way it is now. But some are overly flamboyant but you can't judge them all by that.

Actually it seems that you have the attitude on thr Old School players. The old RSC players come from a time when the game was much smaller and the community was much more friendly. It is this "friendliness" that most of these players miss.

 

 

 

Also, a lot of the really old school players (those at the very start) really helped in the development of the game we know today as Andrew and Paul were often online asking poeples opinions of the game and the direction that they should take it. They could do that back then, but today there are just too many people in the game.

 

 

 

As far as RSC graphics are concerned. It is obvious that you are not old enough to remember what game graphics were like when RSC started (they were ALL actually pretty rubbish by todays standard). When RSC started it was at the cutting edge of technology and was unique for an MMORPG as most of these types of games on the internet were old style MUDs, which I doubt you have even come across.

So basically you're mad because you think that people who've played for longer than you and people who played during classic are jerks? And because some of them like a game that you think is stupid because of the graphics? Even though the game is the way it is at least partly because of the influence of Classic players? Sounds to me like you're just being childish. Why do you dislike people who, at least for the most part, are fairly mature, nice people who have never done anything to you? So some guy made an arse of himself to you, or you're just biased, and you're using either your biase or your experience from one or two people to condemn an entire group of players as arrogant, selfish trash... Yeah, that sounds logical. Forgive me for being a little rude, but when I see a thread that bashes people for no reason, I'm not going to be polite.

I might have played RSC, don't have many memories of it. But I know I was there when RS2 first started up. And to be honest most of the higher level players I have meet are quit nice just not talkative. (Which I would think account for the majority of the RSC population) Like someone said before don't stereotype 1,000's of people just because of one immature person.

Old RS was more fun I will agree. I liked one server and logging on and walking around to see people I knew. I liked going to anvils to see bluerose and encourage her or go see cowchicken chopping trees.

 

 

 

I don't ask for respect from people because im a player from 2001, I just like to play still.

It all depends on who you talk to. People say that all pure f2pers have a stuck up attitude, they say that all old-schoolers have a "holier then thou" attitude and that all pures have a bad attitude. It all depends on who you know, so instead of making some stupid and unrealistic claim, you could actually get to know every single old-schooler and see if each one has that attitude. Until then, don't make outrageous claims.

 

 

 

Or just learn to ignore things that bother you..

If you had played in RSC you would know how annoying it is to hear people ranting over how you are not better than them.

 

 

 

To make things simple for you I will give you on example.

 

EX: Take a 70 year old person, versus a 40 year old person. Who is more wise, has lived longer, and has been through more than the other? Which one of the two should respect the other?

 

 

 

 

 

We who have played longer than you have clicked more, have typed more, and have been through the bad and the worse as times continue to struggle. You have no idea how to compare yourself to us because you have never been us. You wear your shoes, and we wear ours. Therefor we are a different breed.

 

 

 

 

 

And in any way RSC, by far, was much better than RS2. There was respect among the players because we all came from the same time, rather than the hot-out-of-the-oven miniclip franchise.

I dont understand the need for these type of topics, my char is pretty old and i enjoyed playing Runescape thru all its phases, from pre p2p to post HD I still enjoy the mindless mind numbing clicking that is Runescape. I often log back into rsc and wonder how in hell did I ever play that game for over 20 hours a week o.O Its really creepy that this simple click fest got my interest in the first place. But to understand why I did it is really simple, I started when I was bored in my dorm room at the university 7+ years ago and kept playing as an escape from all life's BS. To this date I still play to get my mind of the real world.

 

 

 

I'm by no mean better than anyone that came before or after me to this game, for the fact Runescape "success" is nothing more than who have the most time and patience to click the same thing over and over and over at Nauseum...

 

 

 

So chill out! And click away on RS like the people that came before and the people that will come after you!

I have played since classic also, Classic, imo, was much harder to gain levels in than rs2. Money was much harder to make (imo) I did lobby certing (uncerting and certing and selling to edgy pkers) I HATE THE 12 at a time!!!. I also did coal mining. Hacking was so rampant that people could just walk in and take your things, and people would advertise "giving away this account" and recover it and get your ip from the last login information.

 

 

 

Give rsc players some respect, after all, they have been playing a lot longer than you have. It does not mean that they are better than you are.

That's an biased opinion actually. Not all people who played in rsc were jerks. The first person to ever show me the game showed me the rsc version, he was preaty cool. Though I didnt actually try the game till some time after that. When I was a free player I had a biased opinion that members were jerks because most of the ex-members I met were jerks to me, acting like they were like a whole species above me. That actually turned me off from p2p for a long time.

I can imagen how fun it was: When it was RSC: I mean it would be so little players.

 

 

 

And everyone knew eachother almsot...that i like.

I didn't see a lot of attitude in the most recent "old school topic" and I certainly don't remember anyone saying "old school" means better than anyone else. In fact, I said "or just old" in my post. I don't normally like them but it is kind of fun to do the remember when.. type reminiscing if you've been around awhile. But whatever, if you don't want to read it don't open the topic. It's really kind of silly to get yourself all worked up over someone saying they're old school in a video game.

 

 

 

And RSC was the best. The new runescape can be quite lonely at times, tbh.
