Heh, I like using blue in my posts. I guess mine instead of meaning "stop" it means to "mellow out" or is that yellow? Oh I don't know anymore. #-o

It's fine by me, no need to change how most mods edit things. If it's not broken, don't fix it.

A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.

To be honest there really isn't a reason for moderators to use colors etc to notify in the post of the edit, whenever a post is edited it says at the bottom that the post was edited by Moderator Name and you can put a reason. Why not just use this?

Look at Kaphias' post.

I agree with what Laikrob said. It is so unnoticeable because it is at the bottom of the signature. It is easy to overlook and assume it is actually apart of the users' signature (like a quote or something).

In that case... Any way to move that alert ABOVE a user's signature? Maybe with a template redefinition or something? :-s

It still blends in too much. The current system is much better at catching attention.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

When I edit posts I always use brackets and italic text like:

I'm not a fan of using colors since they will mess up with different themes, so that's the way I go with.

That usually only appears when the moderator puts a reason for posting. Sometimes the forum settings can get messed up and it won't put that, unless you actually state a reason for the edit in the box.

As for the OP's topic...hehe I just think you have a fear of the color red commonly called "Rhodophobia" (It's real, look it up :P )

I quite like this idea, and if you use it with a larger font size, then it's more noticable, and easier to read than reading in the colour red or whatever.

Any reason to why this is allowed to do by mods?

Because it makes them look really cool and important

How sweet of you. Try to contribute something useful if you're going to post. And as I said earlier, you will find nothing in The Rules that states only moderators may post in colour.

He does have a point, mods could use the italics, as shown a couple posts above.

And his point is? That's right, there isn't one, as tripsis outlined.

The point is, you don't need to be fancy and that blinding red when you can Use italics.

I'm quite sure that wasn't his point... but I'll let you slide on that one.

And sometime, italics just don't cut it. Red stands out much better... to most people. Some people don't see either.

How about just editing it with no marks, and just PM the person who's post got edited?

That doesn't teach a lesson to everyone else who reads the offending post.

And if it's bad enough, we'll usually PM the user anyways.

This has all been said before, but I use red because:

1. its conspicuous so the poster will see it, and so will others

2. red is a warning colour

If I have trouble seeing a coloured text on the background, I just highlight the text, then I can read it perfectly.

I see no reason why Mods shouldn't edit posts in red if they want to. If it helps get the message across, all the more reason to do it quite frankly.

Of course, my personal solution would be to keep to the rules anyway.

I know... isn't it radical?

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't think this is going anywhere.

its going to be a flame war soon :P

How dedicated 'mods editing posts suck' are against ..mods themselves :P

And as always, mods "win" because once they get bored of this topic, they simply just lock it, and be winhaxttlbbq B)

It's part of a communist plot to take over the forums.
I am certain that item which I quoted is sarcasm... LOL! :twss:

Anywho... :? ... There has got to be some middle ground, in all seriousness, that the Mods/Admins/Users can all settle on here. The question is, what is it?!?!? And are there any mods here who feel the users' upset, simply because they use the Official Tip.It Theme also?!?!? :-s

Dang... Those are all good questions. And something I'd like to see reasonable answers to, rather soon, all before things can get worse. :-k

What middle ground? Just because some user came up with some totally baseless problem doesn't mean there needs to be a compromise.

But if you're so set on there needing to be one, here's one: the moderators keep doing exactly what they're doing.

This might be a totally alien concept to you, but just because a few users hallucinate a problem doesn't mean it needs to be fixed.

Your last line is the most hilarious. You seem to be unable to do anything but sensationalize the slightest comment anyone makes. This problem is approximately the same magnitude as that of me deciding whether to eat regular or Honey nut Cheerios in the morning.

The last thing anyone needs is for you to come in, blow up the problem, and then try to play moderator between two non-existent sides.

"Baseless"?!?!? You speak madness, my fellow forum user. :| ....... Do you really think that people on the Tip.It Official Theme for the forums are going to want to have trouble reading something in a color that isn't compatible with the forum color scheme, such as this ugly red I've picked for that one segment and can't read without hurting my 20/20 eyes because it clashes on the gray beneath? ....... You really should switch to this scheme and see the trouble we're having over here. :wall:

I think that makes my point. Hell, I expect a Moderator to be a little upset with that much of one contiguously-placed color, but potentially understanding, once they switch to the Tip.It Official Theme, and find they have trouble reading it too! :geek:
