jemathonical
Hey. Has anyone else here torn their ACL or any other ligaments? I did my ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) a little over a year ago playing football, and now I can't do any sports until I get my knee reconstruction, which will happen when I am fully grown. That could be in years. It is devastating that I will probably never play any sport seriously again. So, any injuries, OT? ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it! anim7
Omg that stinks man...I feel sorry for you. I havent torn my ACL, but I did tear a left deltoid(i guess i should say pulled the deltoid cause it is a muscle) doing martial arts. Luckily, 5-6 weeks was enough for full recovery. I know a few soccer players who have torn it....during a great season for them. What exactly happened during football? 100% F2P85 Mining achieved on Dec 4, 200785 Smithing achieved on May 28, 2009

foolgool
I've had like 5 friends tear their ACLs, and one of them has done it twice. Personally, I have not torn any muscles serious enough to stop physical activity. The code in my sig should say 1032 not 0132.
deloriagod
Tore my rotator cuff when I was younger. Never did therapy for it so I easily hurt it these days which means I can't play a whole lot of sports (especially ones that involve throwing a ball). Lenticular_J
Ouch, maybe you should put some "Ice, Ice, Baby" on it. Of course, CDs never did do much to heal. The only things I've even injured badly are my neck and wrist. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

Range_This11
I seperated my shoulder when I threw a pretty big hit on a kid in hockey. It popped out like 4 times during the season and I had to wear a brace on it for every game. I'm getting surgery on it soon and it it's not going to hurt a tad, just the healing of the cut. I consider the hit worth it though, I broke 3 of the kid's ribs and gave him a serious concussion. We're pretty even I'd say. Evaluate
The most serious injury I've ever caused myself was when I fell backwards onto my cement fireplace. I split the skin on the back of my head open, didn't break the bone though. Had to get a few stitches to fix it all up. A baby injury compared to the other stuff on this thread, but you asked, hehe. My Physical Education teacher told me about an old college buddy of his and how he injured himself. This guy was doing the bench press, pretty heavy weights since he was a body builder, and his spotter was too busy chatting up the ladies to "spot." In turn, the bench presser went to set the weight down and went over the back guard entirely. His arms dropped back and he couldn't suppot the weight. The result was a compound fracture of his right shoulder. For those of you who don't know what a compound fracture is, it's where the bone protrudes from the skin. Needless to say, he doesn't body build any more. 7 years 'scape knowledge and counting99 Attack - June 8th 2010 99 Defence - August 2nd 2011 99 HP - December 2nd 2011
OldJoe
Broke my left lower-leg (dunno english word) when i was 12 playing football (soccer). Had a cast for about 6 weeks, and then even more weeks until i could start running again, some nerve or something got messed up tho, because if i touch on a specific place at that area, i get this weird feeling. Otherwise nothing serious as that. Tribal
I snapped my Achilles Tendon freshman year in football, which then proceeded to ruin basketball and baseball season, plus the next football season. Was going to start Varsity on all 3 as a freshman, then I did that and couldn't play basketball or baseball until my Sophomore year and football until Junior year :-\. I still excelled in all 3 though when I was finally heeled, I just lost a little first step on my right foot. Was definantly the most excruciating pain I've felt in my entire life, and the sound.. just a horrible thing to do. Plus they gave me Morphine for the pain which is down right addicting I had to stop taking it because I could no longer get through without it while I was bed ridden for 4 months. Now I'm a freshman at Rutgers University where I probably could of had a scholarship to in Baseball had I not received that injury, still going to try and walk onto the team to earn a scholarship and then join the Marines. jemathonical
What exactly happened during football? I was at marker in defence and starting running towards the attacking player. He stepped and I went to change direction back to my right and stepped off my left leg and my foot just dug into the dirt, locked up and ruptured it. Also torn the meniscis cartlidge on both sides of the knee so that locked my knee up and I couldn't bend or straighten it for about 2 months. and the sound.. just a horrible thing to do. Ah yes. That terrible, clicking sound. Sends shivers up my spine thinking about it. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!

Boris5000
I personnally have never torn a ligament... Although I did give myself a green-stick fracture, its amazing how Bull-dog takedown is now... My friend recently dislocated his knee-cap then tore ligaments while on a school trip... Luck be a Lady

nomadmike
Never have had anything worse than a sprain on the back of my right leg. Parents thought I broke it when I couldn't stand on it for long. Wasted a few days getting X-Rays from the hospital for them to be sure. Worst thing I ever saw was my Physical ED teacher showing videos of his High School wrestling team. The funny part was his parents were video taping the whole thing on that day and he got behind the guy pushed him to the ground while grabbing his right arm causing the person to fall with it bent in the wrong position. You could here the snap quite clearly over all the cheering(it was a State Championship game) followed by a screaming 18 year old boy and my teacher falling onto the arm because of bad footing. The other guy came out with a snapped arm, broken lower part of the right arm, and a crowd that didn't know what was going on for about 25 secs. My teacher successfully won that match and no one would ever wrestle with him again from that school. Our teacher was so proud of that day he played the video over and over to us about 7 times with a few times in very slow motion. #-o I still have memories of that arm bending, that gruesome pop, followed by a slow motion breaking of the arm. egg_luvuh
When my dog was a pup, it tore it's acl. he had surgery and let me tell you, when he came out, and for the next few weeks, he was the sadest looking dog. he wasn't supposed to walk, so we put him in a cage about 6 feet in diameter. it was terrible. when he was finally healed, he tore his other one like a month later... so we went through that whole experience again... but now his knees are better and hes fine so its all good.
