Haibane Renmei is really good, I'm a few episodes in. It has that dull look to it which just adds to the social seclusion of the Haibane. I honestly thought Kana and Kuu were boys at first though

Hidamari Sketch looks cute and inviting. I should probably take it a day at a time, I heard it was real mellow. Thanks for that SilverSword :D

Someone suggested Kokoro Library to me so I'm going to take a look at that too. Should I expect moe overload?

Damn you Megavideo 72 minute watch limit, I can only watch a few episodes at a time >__>

SilverSword, you watch very good animes. I'm going to look up some of those suggestions.

I remember you posted the Hyakko OP in the other thread and I loved that anime. Can you (and the other guys if you want) tell me any others that are similar to it?

(Basically just high school girls having fun/slice of life :P like... Gokujou Seitokai, Lucky Star, Minami-Ke, Azumanga Daioh, Pani Poni Dash...)

Does harem count? Or just all girls?

No harem stuff. I'm not really looking for romance stuff, just the life of girls (it can include guys on the sideline too). Fun, quirky and hilarious. Like Hyakko which was sadly only 13 episodes :( I'll read the manga of that.

Kana and Reki are probably my favourites from Haibane. It's rather emotional and touching in a pretty unique way. I don't think you'll find an anime that replicates that feeling anywhere else. Some say it's preachy, but I say it's amazing.

As for Hidamari: let me put it this way. If Lucky Star is crack, Hidamari Sketch is weed or acid. Random psychedelic things happen all the time (there's even an entire trippy episode in season 1), and yeah, it's incredibly mellow and easygoing. Also, implied yuri. So very much implied.

Just out of interest how many GB's of downloads do you guys get each month as Nadril said really casually that he downloaded 3 anime series in a day which made me really sad as my brothers would probably kill me if I did that.

I must pull in about 50-75GB a month, but that's not just anime.

I don't have any limit. Already downloaded 16GB of anime though :P.

And Silver, Baccano! is awesome so far. I've only just finished the 3rd episode, but it's a pretty good mix of funny and bad [wagon].

I'm gonna say either JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Gurren Lagann, or Rosario + Vampire is to be your next anime to watch.

Just finished up Baccano!, man this is one of my favorites so far. It took a bit getting used to the style they used to tell the story (going between events real fast) but I think it added a lot of interesting backstory. Easily my favorite characters were Firo, Issac and Maria. Firo is just bad [wagon] and Issac & Maria are crazy funny.

Also I loved how they melded in a bit of supernatural elements with the show as well (with the immortals and everything), wasn't expecting that. Finally I loved the ending

[hide=]2001

Issac: Maria, I have this feeling that... we haven't aged at all.

Maria: ...

Issac: IT'S TRUE, WE'VE BEEN BORN AGAIN!!!!![/hide]

Perfect way to end it. (also love how they were wearing hippie stuff in 2001 lol)

Glad to hear you liked it. Firo is a favourite of mine too. I also really liked Ladd too.

Watch CLANNAD if you want to baww a lot.
Honestly, it isn't really as sad as people make it out to be. Some of it was quite hard-hitting emotions-wise, but I couldn't really relate to it. Myself;Yourself and Kanon hit home one hell of a lot harder with me.

I've been watching Kanon and haven't bawwed once to be honest. I guess it depends on the person.
Yeah. I really disliked the end pairing of Clannad too, so that kind of killed it for me also. At least it wasn't quite as horribly cheesy as Toradora. I mean, I liked Toradora a lot - but it was almost painfully predictable.

I have only ever shed tears of happiness when watching anime, and that was with Aria.

I'm about halfway through with lain, and I think my reaction so far can be summed up pretty easy:

O_O

(The art style is wonderful, and I'm really digging the way they do the music and sound as well. I'm still confused as [cabbage] but it's starting to get... a little clearer? I just finished EP6. Still, I'm so confused. I really enjoy it so far though).

I'm bored so I'm reading Inuyasha again. :? It's still alright, it's just that I need something more violent and brutal to read. Shamo or whatever ended up boring me. I guess Vagabond is next.

Are you serious? Shamo bored you? It has great character development, and the artwork is incredible. How far did you end up reading?

Alright, I finished Lain. My initial reaction is still the same. I'm somewhat in a daze about it, it's weird. I understand it now, and I understand what it's about now, but I don't know how to sum up what I feel about it. It's amazing, I loved everything in it, but man even after reading the Wikipedia entry on the series it's still sort of confusing.

Great recommendation though.. it's going to be tough to follow up on for whatever I watch next.

Yeah do this. (even though I haven't seen it yet)

Also, Texhnolyze. Very much so.

The ending of Haibane Renmei is hugely unsatisfying yet sweet. I want to know more about them >__> but I was happy to see that about Reki.

I've decided to watch some Burst Angel, it's kind of meh with a mix of ooh's.

I love these  :
