I play mostly for relaxation. I have a stressful job and work far more hours than I'd like....so Runescape is a nice diversion. I also really enjoy chatting with friends (both those I know irl and those I've made while playing).

 

 

 

As for goals, they can change from day to day. I'm currently kinda working on 76 fishing (at 72 now), so that I can fish sharks (not for money or xp, but just so I can do it). However, I often end up doing something quite different than I'd planned once I sign on. Yesterday, for example, I did no fishing at all, as a friend asked me to go chop willows with her. I went and we had a good time -- and I didn't regret not fishing one bit.

I play Runescape just for relaxation and to accomplish something (even if it's just virtual).

 

Currently I'm busy on 99 fletching (98 at the moment) and finish up 1k of toadflax seeds.

 

After that I think I'm going to hunt for some cash and eventually buy some good armour and become F2P again.

A boredom filler, basically.

I'm trying for mining lvl99. lol. It's only lvl 60 right now.:shock: I want that 99. I guess i can always hope

but seriously, i play to enjoy a type of goal in a game, that i can use in real life or anything else....its just something that i can say " yes i did that"

I don't get y people say "I'm gunna play til I get a level then quit". I just don't understand that whatsoever.

Runescape is my bread and butter. I just play it to take a break from reality and to relieve my stress.

Well runescape to me is just a game i use to pass time and get away from things.

i play Runescape mostly for something to do at night, because watching T.V doesn't really do anything for me.

My main goal is to get 99 in every skill before and if I quit. And even if I do quit, I'll keep my account active so I can play again if I ever want to.

I suppose Runescape is a form of escapism for me, I can forget who I am on the outside world and become an adventurer! :D

Hit the nail on the head. In Runescape I can be a powerful Adventurer and go do anything I want really. I like being able to explore new areas and kill monsters. And see my skills go up and increase the amount of things I can do.

Something to do really. Summer can get boring, especially when it rains all summer and you have to find something to do for 24 hours a day for 6 weeks. When school starts again, obviously school is more important, but even then it's still nice to just take a break for an hour from coursework and such.

Friends, simple as. If I were't to have those special people on my list I wouldn't be playing today.

 

 

 

I lost interest in skilling/training a long time ago. As most know I just stand in Edge MOST of the time talking.

Interactable MSN. Oh and it's fun.

It used to be an addiction. I would spend hours hacking away at beasts that respawn on a predictable spot or on a tree to gain minimal experience, in hopes that one day I could achieve a level that would reward me in some way. As of today, RuneScape is merely a time filler when all of my other time fillers have been exhausted. This means if I have nothing to do with friends/family/school, I am bored with COD4, I am bored with CS:Zero, I am bored with CS:1.6, and I want to talk to my friends on ventrilo that still play the game, i will hop onto RuneScape and make a few potions.

 

 

 

I find it weird that about 4 months ago I was staying up until 4-5 in the morning trying to get that elusive Saradomin hilt drop, or trying to get enough money for 70 herblore, 70 construction, and 70 Runecrafting. Now I spend a maximum of 2 hours on the game a week, and that is a generous statement.

I hardly play, but when I do it's just a time killer. Of course there's the friend benefits as well, but I use other ways to converse with my "RuneScape friends" like IRC and TeamSpeak.
