Glad to see Jagex is working on another language for players who speak it. Hopefully all other languages will be put into the game ASAP.

why? English is my 3rd or so language

portugese makes perfect sense from a business standpoint. brazil is taking off economically and the consumer base is growing rapidly. i dont know about the rest of you, but if you have a large french/spanish/etc...consumer base, why would you cater more to them when you could enter an emerging market more effectively?

 

 

 

now, i'm not saying jagex doesnt care about existing players, i think their continued updates and little fixes show that they do, but from a purely business standpoint, it makes much more sense to open up to the portugal, and more importantly, brazilian market than to fix something that isnt broken with the various other nations.

I have never met a Portugese player either, but I have met quite a few from Brazil.

They just added atleast 1 brazil world, makes me think its quite obvious that portugese would be one of the next languages.

i've met a fair few portuguese players :roll:

 

be nice for them I guess, and help expand into portuguese speaking countries, for players that don't know any or very little english

 

for example Brazil ;)

Good work Jagex! Now I will be soon able to practise my french in a much funnier way than before :D!

At the rate Jagex is going, you might as well learn English. It'll be better for you and it'll be faster than waiting for the Portugese version to come out :]

I've got déjà vu. Haven't we discussed about Jagex planning to go Portuguese before?

 

 

 

Anyway, it's a good idea for Jagex. They aren't quite ready to take on the Asian market yet, but I bet it will happen once they've sorted out the main western languages.

Edit: To above, french has been at least considered since jan/feb.

I'm portuguese.. They'll probably translate it to brazilian portuguese, which I hate <_<

 

Anyhow, even if they do translate it into Portuguese from portugal, I'll continue using the english versions...
