Out of curiosity what happens if it's a draw?

So incredibly unlikely that it's not worth thinking about.

But there is a procedure if that happens:

Congress meets and the House of Representatives votes to decide the next President.

How can I watch the elections?

I live in England, where it's broadcating on BBC1 from 11:30 till 6:00. I can't stay up all night because of school, but I can probably get up at 5:00. I don't want anyone to spoil it for me, so I have to watch it before school. Will it be broadcasted online? Can someone point me in the right direction?

BBC News has a 24 hour stream...

i don't think it's possible with the electoral votes

It is, and the constitution has procedures in place to deal with a draw, however unlikely.

I don't care anymore; I realized, that whoever gets elected, whether it be Obama or McCain, and whether or not they are the right president. They can only mess up the country so much in four years. Meanwhile, I bought an Obama shirt today, and my little bro goes 'omg how could you like Obama????? You're a freak."

But, really, my family is really really conservative. Good grief, my parents come back for voting, I ask "did you vote for Warner?" And they say "good grief, he's just like Obama!" but, he did balance VA's budget, apparently.

Regardless of who wins, there both bad for the economy, in the long term.

So lesser of two evils.

Whichever one you prefer:

1. Continue a long, drawn-out war, many people die. Both good people and bad people. Costs a ton of money.

2. Implement universal healthcare, save many people. Both good people and bad people. Costs a ton of money.

:|

40 minutes until first polls close. Yay. I hope this is a valid excuse to procrastinate...

Oh, come on, you know what I mean...

They'll both use a ton of money, save a bunch of people, kill a bunch of people. We're screwed.

Hence their being the same. Seriously, their differences in policies (that they could actually act out) is totally negligible. But, at least Obama will have the support of all of Congress. McCain's good policies would get shot down, even if they benefited us, because of petty rivalries.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

All I can say, is whoever wins, don't [bleep] us over like Europe.

But, no one can really say, what does Biden stand for? I mean, I asked one of my pro-Obama friends, and even she didn't know.

EDIT:

I'm waiting to walk into school tomorrow and everyone say "hahah McCain lost!! Obama won, in your face!" Tbh, it's quite aggravting, the Democrats in my school are like "you're not even 18! So shut up!" But does it matter...? I mean, if I'm mising the cut off date by 1 month, them I'm effectively 18, so don't I have the same right to debate?

I have to say, the most unpopular kids at my school are all Republican. I love Massachusetts.

But really, in my city, Democrats outnumber Republicans 6 to 1.

And doesn't the VP not do...much...? Unless the President dies, which I suppose is possible.

Normally the VP doesn't have too much responsibility unless the President dies or resigns but Cheney has had a lot more responsibility during the Bush years.

Yep, it's 8-3, Kentucky vs. Vermont right now.

Indiana is pretty close, a ton of the east coast closes at 8 EST. I'll check back then.

it's pretty pointless to say a candidate has won a state 10 minutes after the polls close, and less than 1% of the votes are taken into consideration.

don't get too caught up with exit polls or any of the guesswork, until a much larger percentage of votes are included.

They want people to keep watching, so what would you expect?

If one news station is reporting results, regardless of their accuracy, all the other stations will have to do the same to keep up their viewing numbers.
