September 13, 200817 yr With the new clan wars updates, a new option that allowed you to accumulate 10,000 kills for a win was added. Who do you think will do this? How long do you think it would last? Would these wars work out?
September 13, 200817 yr Wasn't there like a 12 hour war or similar once or twice in the past? I remember DI and a load of other big clans involved.
September 13, 200817 yr Wow, many clans would just make an infinite amount of kills, it's fairly hard to make that many kills, so I'd say not too many clans will use it.

How long do you think it would last? Would these wars work out? That's almost like Alterac Valley from WoW  . Literally, you could play at 8 am, log off for school, and rejoin the same battle 7 hours later. I would so do that war!! But since it's basically just free for all without the free for all (infinite battle basically) not many clans would do this. There might be a clan chat channel just for this purpose. There's probably a team-cape and everything.

I'm fairly sure there aint yet a war that lasted that long...
September 14, 200817 yr The only use I can see that for is when a clan is huge, like has 120 or so members, and wants to train. So they set it to 10k, and just practice warring in there...etc, or doing fun events, like a fire ball contest until the other team is completely out of mind runes or whatever. Stuff like that would be useful... But a war? If anyone did do this, it would last a very long time. You'd have everyone start off, then it would get low on players, probably people sleep/school, come back, find it's still going on, go into the portal, restart and redo until end. Very impractical...
September 14, 200817 yr The clan who wants to do that has to be spread over several timezones.. And I don't think you can do it in an hour, like someone posted on RSC. It would be 333 kills/minute, where only 100 can be in the arena at once.. Animum debes mutare, non caelum.
September 15, 200817 yr Back in the wilderness and the first stage of bounty hunter, many clans had 20+ hour fights. Rsd and DF for example had one on 23rd december which of course ended on 24th for most of us :P Few days ago RSD had a 1½ hour fight against SoK and ended up with 452 kills. That means it took roughly 12 secs per kill. If same kind of domination went on 10k kills would be: - 12*10,000=120,000 secs - 120,000/60 = 2,000 mins - 2,000/60 = 33 hours 20 mins roughly. Notice that in order to get it in that time, you'd have to keep up a great speed all the time. I personally don't believe any clan would return for 33 hours just to see them losing miserably, so I assume the fight would be between two rather good clans and thus make it also last a lot longer. Will it happen? Most likely. I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
September 16, 200817 yr aye, what about a no food or pray 100v100 p2p 10k kills people would die pretty fast, i could see that not taking too long :P "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
September 16, 200817 yr aye, what about a no food or pray 100v100 p2p 10k kills people would die pretty fast, i could see that not taking too long :P Look at above posts^ Besides, you don't really need food in 100 vs. 100 with piles, seeing that you would get 1 hitted easily.
September 21, 200817 yr A large p2p clan war could do it really really fast. Proud Warlord of DragonwoodIf it's natural to kill, how come men have to go into training to learn how? ~ Joan Baez Rest in Peace 3xtermination
September 22, 200817 yr Don't really think I'm interested in trying to hit 10k lol, we had a 4hr the other day and I was only there for half and it was way longer than I cared for.
September 24, 200817 yr I think Jagex did this so the clan community wouldn't complain about not enough kills. It was better for them to overshoot than undershoot. *-P.K.M-* Website

September 29, 200817 yr A large p2p clan war could do it really really fast. I highly doubt it if it wasn't made an intentional mass suicide. The freezing spells make p2p surprisingly slow as targeting is harder: people are spread out due freezing spells, tens of people running for one target is a barrager's dream and so on. I could almost place a bet that a p2p fight would take over 12 hours for 10k kills. An intentional suicide or mathematical theory could prove that bet false, however that's not the point in a real fight. Talking about mathematical theories... Currently an average top clan member has 99 hp (di = 98,95 hp average, RSD = 98,87 average, etc), barrage maximum damage is 30 and it can hit max 9 targets. This means that in order to get 10k kills, you have to inflict 99*10 000 = 990 000 damage. As the maximum damage is 30*9 = 270, you'd have to cast 990k/270 = 3667 barrages. Notice that after 3 bursts the opponent has 9hp (3*30) left. this means that you'd need to cast 4 barrages per pile. If one barrage takes 3 secs to cast and getting a pile of 9 takes 15 secs (that's quite positive for even a set up fight) it would make up: 10k deaths/9 per burst session = 1112 piles. (15+4*3)*1112/360 = roughly 8 and 30 hours. As we all know, you won't hit the maximum hit on the maximum targets that many times in a row. Infact you won't even hit 9 targets with every barrage in a fight that's not a set suicide event. God swords, range and other makes would make it faster for this kind of suicide events. Did we forget to mention food and brews? The point is that normal clan fight won't make it to 10k kills in a reasonable fight. If somebody still disagrees, just take a look at the clan areas on RSC: basically all 1-2 hour fights up end up with less than 500 kills, in both p2p and f2p. In my eyes that's the best proof that 10k kills is something most clans won't get in an actual fight. The actual fights are a lot different to theoretical mathematical calculations which don't include stuff like toilet breaks, connection losts, sleeping due different timezones, food, etc. I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
