toast647
Why did you remove the other poll with all the other people? I was really interested in voting for the marijuana party. Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool
The Observer
Why did you remove the other poll with all the other people? I was really interested in voting for the marijuana party. Sure you were. :twss: I decided on removing it because they aren't on the main vote and most are just voting for them because of their name. Mr_Putter
I wish more people would realise that voting for NPD is counter-productive, and voting for Green is just entirely throwing your vote away in all but a handful of ridings. If you look at the platforms, we basically have 4 major liberal parties and 1 major conservative party. Bloc is pretty much assured a certain number of votes, but NPD and Green are getting more and more votes each time. What this does is take votes from the Liberal Party, thus ensuring that the Liberals don't win without sufficiently swaying the votes so that NPD or Green could win. Therefores, the liberal vote is spread to thin, and even when a vast majority of people in Canada support a liberal platform (esp. when it comes to social issues), Conservatives win a minority government. Having the Conservatives in a majority isn't that bad, but having a Conservative minority government is the worst thing that can happen. They can't do anything without a majority, so politics just stands still. A liberal minority is moderately more productive, since Libs and the other groups can form coalitions, but they don't always agree. The best thing that can happen is somehow the Liberal Party (really the only one of the 4 left-wing parties with any chance of winning a majority) getting a majority. So stop throwing your vote away, it just messes up things.
obfuscator
well i imagine ill vote conservative, not particularly because i like them, but there isnt much other option. I have no confidence in the liberals at all, and lets face it, the ndp and green are not going anywhere. cant vote for bloc bc im not in quebec. personally, i think the conservatives have done a decent job governing, much better than the liberals before them. So my vot goes to conservative. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti

Lionheart_0
I think I am gonna go Liberal... Honestly I haven't liked this campaign much (and I am finally able to vote >.< ). Everything I have seen so far is each party taking a stab at the other party, and not really branching out on actual issues, except environmental. Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! fastortoise
But now, with Dion having as much charisma as a frog, in an environment where image matters more than reality, the fight is pretty much already won for the conservatives. The conservatives are playing on the lack of confidence of Dion, and it's working. I know you know Dion is a smart guy, but sadly I don't think the rest of Canada does. He really is a bright guy, smarter than any other politician running for Prime Minister, especially Harper. If we want a well run country, Dion is the guy imo
The Observer
The only problem is, his carbon tax will raise the price of groceries even more, same with gas. Sure, you'll get a bit back on income tax, but the people who pay more income tax (people with higher income) will get more of a benefit, so the lower-income people will have to pay even MORE out of their own pocket, and even MORE houses will be foreclosed. Plus, the higher end people can afford new energy efficient appliances.
Ginger_Warrior
You could always vote for the former Australian PM John Howard. Stephen9o3
I really don't want to see a Conservative majority. In my riding, we currently have an independent MP, Bill Casey. He was a Conservative but he was kicked from the caucus for voting against his own party's budget because it violated terms of the Atlantic Accord. He's running again, as an independent, and I plan to vote for him, and I think he has a good chance of winning. Green Party announced that they support Bill Casey and won't be running anyone against him. Combat FTL

Faux
Loooool. I voted conservative, yeah I'm glad Harper won. Are you guys even allowed to vote? Our biggest trading partner is having a rough time right now and you want to vote in parties with VERY sketchy economic plans? Harper is the only one who understands how to augment the economy. Not to mention the Conservative party is the only party that supports nuclear power. The only fault I see the Conservative has is that they don't support net neutrality. But even that's not worth having a destabilized economy over. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
