The Observer
Well, the Canadian Federal Elections are on and since there is a topic for U.S.A., I decided to make one. Even though in Canada you vote for your local canadidate, it would be impossible to do that here as there are so many of those. So, just vote here on who your favourite leader is. Who do you vote? The main ones: [*:34qexk67] Stephen Harper (Conservative) [*:34qexk67] Stephane Dion (Liberal) [*:34qexk67] Jack Layton (NDP) [*:34qexk67] Elizabeth May (Green Party of Canada) [*:34qexk67] Gille Duceppe (Bloc Québécois) I left the minor ones out because they're not really going to be mainstream voted. fastortoise
It'll be my first time voting, and I really don't think that I know enough about politics to vote for either Conservs, Libs or Not-so-newDP I'm leaning towards Liberals but if they aren't convincing i'll throw my vote away to the Green Party since the runner for my town lives next to me and he's cool

Sbrideau
Haha lol ^ Anyway, I'm either NDP or Green party. I'm going to say it short and clear, I want Harper OFF, he's only for the war, I don't like what's he's doing to us french people that live out of the province of Québec, and with all the chances Dion had to get him off there, he didn't take them, and now want's us to pay a carbon tax, not only the businesses. NDP ftw this time.
pryomancer
There is 1 too many candidates, the poll only allows a maximum of 15 options. Choose which one to omit and I'll put the poll up. :P

magekillr
I'm not sure, I haven't looked into it much. The debates are coming up soon right? As long as it's not Harper though... That [wagon] clown is extraditing soldiers, and he's very much pro-war.
Giordano
Never knew Canada had so many weird-named political parties. "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."

Saru Inc
Lol Canada looks fun the "Work less party" and the marijuana party? Damn, if either of those ran for elections here, they'd win hands down. I have all the 99s, and have been playing since 2001. InkofDeath
Not old enough to vote but Jack Layton for sure. The work less party is pretty much even worse than the marijuana party. >.>

Longley (Marijuana Party of Canada) Never even heard of him untill now....and I didn't know we had so many different parties :o Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool
klankaos
I'm Green Party, personally, even though I'm too young to vote. But honestly, that decision's mostly superficial. I'd need a little more interest to delve deeper. Being immature is a part of being mature.
highlanders
Gilles Duceppe or Jack Layton. Both very respectable men, though neither have any real chances of winning. The green party has a valid cause, but they're incapable of running the country. It boils down to Dion versus Harper. Dion has nothing going for him - he lacks charisma - which is vital in any campaign. He looks shaky, he doesn't show the kind of confidence you would want in a leader. For those of you who remember when the leader of the liberal party was elected: it was Stéphane Dion versus Michael Ignatieff. Ignatieff had everything going for him - charisma, intelligence and confidence. He worked several years in the UK at Harvard, Oxford and Cambridge. He's an award-winning author, a journalist and a historian. Yet, in a surprising turn of events, Dion won. If Ignatieff had won, then the Liberal party would have had good chances of winning against the conservatives. But now, with Dion having as much charisma as a frog, in an environment where image matters more than reality, the fight is pretty much already won for the conservatives. The conservatives are playing on the lack of confidence of Dion, and it's working. 2480+ total
warren211
Hmm... I'm not Canadian, but I am interested in the marijuana party. I can imagine, if there was a political party rallying for each controversial law to be removed in the US... damn, we'd have a lot of such parties. And I'm sure the other candidates are having the time of their lives calling the marijuana party candidate a drug addict, pot-smoking loser, etc... [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Infi
Perhaps we Americans should invade this thread and debate these politics that will really never affect us in any way. ... Jack Layton though, I'm tired of the striking image Harper gives off like Bush, and Dion doesn't seem all too reliable. For fun though and to jump on the bandwagon, the Green Party of course  99 Hits, Attack, Strength, Defence, Mage, Summoning, Slayer, Ranged, 96/99 Prayer
The Observer
I'm going for Stephan Harper because Stephane Dion's carbon tax is only for the rich people. Since they have more income tax they pay, they will get alot more back. The people who don't pay a lot of income tax won't get as much back. So, the rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer. Also, grocery bills, transit, gas and heating costs will go up tenfold. EDIT: What up with all the posts for the Marijuana party? :-#
