Uh no, I never ever laugh in real life. Life is serious stuff.

 

 

 

If something is truly funny, I will laugh. If something is remotely funny, I may let out a "lawl", but will probably also chuckle/laugh. If something is supposed to be funny and isn't, I will do neither and punch the person in the face.

 

I do use these internet abbreviations, but not seriously. To kid around. Seriously though, why so serious?

My quilvant to a 'lol' in real life is like a fake-laugh-chuckle-thing (o.O). I almost never say 'lol' save a couple of times when I said it was a joke.

 

 

 

Oh, and I don't call it "L-O-L" neither. I pronouce it "Lol". Literately.

I have seen someone in a pre-internet movie say "laugh out loud" so I guess its alright among most of you use the term, just not the abbreviation.

 

 

 

However, if you are mature you will not care about something as trivial as some person speaking a common internet slang.

 

 

 

An interesting thing to note is in the days before the web, when people wrote it was expected for there writing to be a more refined version of the way they would normally speak. How things have changed.

Well I never actually say "lol" or "el oh el" but I sometimes find myself thinking "for the win" or "noob" Infact a friend of mine and I call another individual a noob on a daily basis :roll:

No, I do not say lol, lulz, lawl, wtf or any other [developmentally delayed] phrase on the internet let alone in real life. If you do, you should be hurt. There and then. No objections, its what you bloody well deserve. If you find something funny in real life, laugh. If you dont, dont laugh. Dont just say "hurr, lol". Ive no qualms with anyone using lol on the internet, its how it came about, but never take it away from a screen. You look stupid and you sound stupid. Stop it.

 

 

 

You misunderstand me, usually when people say Lol irs they don't actually Laugh out loud, irl. It's like when people say something that's not funny but it's meant to be. Or if someone says something really weird.

I say it occasionally (1-2 every 2 week), but that is usually when someone tries to make a joke, and it turns out lame, or someone does something stupid.

No. But, at my age, I'd be thought pretty silly if I did. It was hard enough for me to get used to the shorthand in the game and on the forums. I am not much of a browser online and RuneScape fan forums were the first forums I'd ever been on. I actually looked up Wikipedia's Runescape dictionary to help me understand the lingo better :o . Sad, I know.

Usually when I find something funny I, well, laugh. Maybe it's just me.

I don't use the word "lol", but that would be pretty odd anyway, since in Dutch it is already an existing word, meaning "fun". Well, at least the two meanings have a connection to each other, so I guess that it is not unthinkable people would use it.

 

 

 

It is an interesting concept, though... if you say lol instead of actually laughing, you're not doing what you say you're doing. So you're projecting your internet behaviour (indicating that you think something's funny, even though you're usually not *really* laughing out loud) on real life behaviour, instead of the other way around.

Anyway, I've never actually said "lol" in real life although I've come close several times. I can see how easy it is to slip, the word LOL seems to be the first thing to come up when you register that something is funny.

 

 

 

I've heard someone say the word lol means fun in Dutch. That'd be pretty interesting. Someone tells you a joke and you respond with "fun".

I say lulz, lawl, lol ect... when i talk to my friends that understand it (from RS) so thats like 3 people :oops:.

 

 

 

But i laugh when i talk to everyone else. And on the internet most the things that arent funny i say lol anyway to make them feel better :mrgreen:

Technically, you can't LOL online because it's not loud then. But yes, I do LOL IRL. But only to really really funny stuff.
