Lending of spirit shields

Most high grade stuff is lendable. Dragon, godswords, bandos and armadyl, because they are in pretty big demand.

However, how come spirit shields aren't lendable?

I can't see any reason why. They don't degrade or have a value connected to the player, so why aren't they lendable yet?

Because you have to do a quest to be able to wield them.

You also need a quest for fremy helms (warrior, ranger, farseerer and berserker)

i bet in due time they will become lendable. ::'

but why would anyone want to borrow it? you get free from quest...

and the super rare ones, people would lend for like 500k/hr.

If they do become lendable, I'm going to buy one just to lend out. ::'

I agree though, it is likely to keep them out of reach until the supply is larger.. which may take some time.

Well I may be speaking for myself but so far, other than pictures and videos I have never seen anyone with a spirit shield. That, combined with their current prices and the fact that they're so new means that they're probably the rarest items in the game at the moment. I know we can lend out phats and such, but a new really high level and rare shield should be given some time to settle in. They'll probably make it lendable in about a year.

Agree. I think jagex's just letting players absorb what the shields can do before they can be lended

That is, if you can afford one at the current street prices

That's like asking why crystal seeds aren't lendable. It's kind of obvious :?

But you can wield the shield, upgraded or not, while you can't w/ crystal seeds. Isn't that obvious? :\

They aren't in high demand, which may affect their position on lending spirit shields.

Spirit shields have dropped from 400k to 50k

The Arcane, Spectral, Elysian, and Divine shields should be lendable imo, but they might want to preserve their rarity.

What would players charge to lend out such an item? So much junk would be consumed.

I think it is probably due to the shields still begin extremely rare in-game. I doubt there is more shields than a few hundred, and maybe not even that many. Not to mention that you must kill the toughest beast in all of runescape to gain access to the items necessary to make the shield. In due time they probably will add them to the lending , but not until the price stabilizes at reasonable prices or it has already been more than enough time that they have been out.

And as others have said, those few who do have the shield would probably lend it out for a good 500k+ an hour minimum. (lots of people want to try it, and are willing to pay anything to have it for even an hour)
