3rkid
doesnt really do anyting other than normal ancient spells except slow down the other players attack speed Lol you say that like it isn't useful, with this spell you get hit half as much, giving you a HUGE ADVANTAGE. xSxqPowerx
Meh they'd be great if only the staff wasn't so hard to get. I'm sure they'll still be used effectively though.
ChaosFlames
I think the spells were a good addition, and not exactly overpowered. Range can still beat mage due to it having the highest attack speed. Also the fact that pretty much all mage attacks splash on d'hide (with the appropriate mage&def lvs of course). This shouldn't affect range too much, other than the occasional spell that manages to break through d'hide. And even then if all else fails, SEERCULL SPEC BABY \ [94/99 Ranged][87/99 HP][80/85 Def][70/70 Pray]
Ravenkana
Now the DDS, one of my favorite weapons, will be a must carry for every PKer. Aside from the special, it has the highest melee speed of any weapon. The only one that matches is the whip. If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased. The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?
magmaguard3
Sounds interesting. It may prove to be overpowered though, seems like it's just begging for abuse. One of the many potential bugs of this update. Jagex will fix it though, if it turns out to be a problem.
BabyPunchers
I think this is great. Mage needed a boost and this is a perfect way to help mages out. Thanks to all those who have messaged me concerning a revamp of my Range-Slayer guide. Because of you all I will start rewriting it asap.[/color] Formerly RobinHoodie.
Dragonlordjl
It is my opinion that they need to add the ability to repair based on non-assistable smithing level. At a higher smithing level, the cost is less and you can repair it for longer. Either that or make the items not degrade at all on PvP worlds and double the time which they last on non-PvP worlds. I like that the weapons crumble to dust, it removes them from the market and keeps it a consumable, keeps the price up so it doesn't become just another spell. These could be similar to barrows, where you can repair them on an armour stand (based on non-assistable smithing level), but unlike barrows, if you wait too long to repair they WILL crumble to dust. (This is all on PvP worlds). I do like the idea of doubling the current time on non PvP, and it sounds like something Jagex will do if they hear it on the forums (Cutting shard price in half is a good example). They could do this, but it would basically make them last forever for rich players with high smithing. That seems even more imbalanced for me . . . I like that they don't last forever. Myweponsg00d
This still doesn't fix magic at all. If someone gets a miasmic spell cast on them, chances are theyll want to just not even attack at all and instead start running. Magic needed more KO power, not something just like ice barrage that simply helps to make sure the target is disabled in some way. This would be great in the duel arena but for world PKing people are gonna just run from you, and this doesn't do anything to stop them from getting away. Need assistance in any of these skills? krugtheorc
from what i heard, the 30 minutes starts as soon as you first equip it, so just equiping it to cast would still be a fail. seriously, all the equipment looks like it was supposted to be something used for pvp to gain an edge, a cherry on top of the cake if you will. Can't you just hit them with freezing spells too? Tele block, freeze, this = GG. No, then in that case this is no different from magic before. The problem with magic is that it, on its own, is too easy to escape or avoid death from. Reducing your opponent's attacking speed may help to make sure you dont die, but it does nothing more than what we had to make sure they get KOed. Sure, if you are maging a ranger, he wont be able to shoot back at you as fast and you can cast more barrages without eating, but if you are using purely magic on a ranger in dhide, chances are youll still splash way too much to KO him. If you are casting on a meleer, then there is no difference than freezing him and standing a square away...his attack speed is then irrelevant. Magic has become a still better support skill, but this does nothing to verify the mage as a pure class of its own that stands a honestly good chance of killing someone, even if they arent allowed to protect from magic. Reded
I love how Ranged got left out again in this entire PvP update, their specials are totally rubbish compared to the Melee ones and the Magic Staff abilities lol. The only decent-ish weapon they have is the new thrown-axes lol. Did you read anything about Morrigan's Javelins Special? I saw a video of it, trust me it is GOOD. It hits 5's every second (Like poison, except it's a red splat). I have to say, I'd love that sort of power in a fight... The thrownaxe special seems good too, if they're running away from you. The Javelin is more of a hit-first special, whereas the thrownaxe is what you spec with if they're running. The Javelin at least takes away 50% of the bar so if you wait a few seconds you can have your dark bow special too if you need a good KO. The presence of those seeking the truth is infinitely to be preferred to those who think they've found it.
warrior5024
I DO agree that magic needs more KO power, but most people don't realize that magic can be used to KO, if you get your timing right. In terms of ancient magicks, there are slow and fast spells and, if casted correctly, the damage will hit at the same time, resulting in 2 hits. It does take practice, but it can be done. So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.
