Snow in october in uk

There are several different variables such as the moderating effect created from the atlantic ocean, currents from the north, or certain different weather conditions colliding. To be honest, Global Warming has nothing to do with this. It was just by chance that weather conditions came together and formed snow.

The british weather system is really [cabbaged] up atm lol.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got snow in august, and 30 degree heat in January.

I just don't know what to expect anymore...

Anyway, snow has been falling for the last 3/4 hours outside, I just hope it settles. Nothing better than snow in school holidays.

So don't let anyone tell you you're not worth the earth,

These streets are your streets, this turf is your turf,

Don't let anyone tell you that you've got to give in,

Cos you can make a difference, you can change everything,

Just let your dreams be your pilot, your imagination your fuel,

Tear up the book and write your own damn rules,

Use all that heart, hope and soul that you've got,

And the love and the rage that you feel in your gut,

And realise that the other world that you're always looking for,

Lies right here in front of us, just outside this door,

And it's up to you to go out there and paint the canvas,

After all, you were put on the earth to do this,

So shine your light so bright that all can see,

Take pride in being whoever the [bleep] you want to be.

Ha, Virginia has a forecast for a snow shower tomorrow, too. All I can say? Sweetness.

 Do you live in Virginia also? That's pretty epic. Represent the 757 is all I gotta say.

Count me in on Virginia too. In Stafford all we are suppost to get is some flakes, nothing accumlating. Sucks here it seems like everywhere around us always gets more snow. We get sleet, they get snow, we get an inch, they get five. :wall:

Here in northern VA (near DC and Maryland) it didn't snow but it supposedly did in Maryland. And damn that wind was terrible, knocked over a bunch of crap outside. It was something like high 20s with wind chill (slightly below 0 for you non-americans).

Back when I lived in Florida high 20s in February was rare. Here it's high twenties in freaking october #-o

Got about 2 inches of the fluffy stuff Saturday night. Then it rained Sunday, and all went away. That's just the norm, though... it'll be like that for the next 4-5 months.

How cold can it get in Alaska Kaphias?

Depends where you are. Where I am, I only remember it getting down below zero (Fahrenheit) once, without wind chill. Up North though, it's not uncommon to see temperatures down below -50.

Usually hangs around 30 where I am. I do remember one time last year when I was up skiing, it was only about 20 outside, but then the windchill got factored in and it got down to about -30. :P

For the record the reasonthe UK could get colder in the distant future is because of changes in the North Atlantic Drift which provides us with warmer air. I don't know how these changes can/will occur but supposedly it is a possibility.

Perhaps it snowed in Scotland, it tends to be a tad chillier.

It wasn't in Edinburgh today, just bloody freezing.

Temperatures almost at freezing here in Chicago. Went out to the corner this morning to wait for the bus wearing a hoodie, didn't know how cold it was. Bus came late, everyone at my corner was freezing, and it didn't prove for the entire day. Even now it's cold outside. Usually we don't have it this bad just yet.

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Apparently a lot of people say it. I own.

Snow. Well, nothing new here considering I live in Canada...

I always laugh when I think of Canadian weather because it reminds me of how stupid Scottish people can be. Who in their right minds would leave one cold country like mine to go and emigrate to an even colder country like Canada, they must have been mad lol.

I'll never make the same mistake that so many of my former countrymen made, once I win the lottery I'm going to follow the sunny weather...although with global warming I'm not too sure where that will be.

We've had it before and we'll have it again. I wouldn't particularly blame this on 'climate change'

It wasn't snowing here in Perth but it was damn cold in the wind. Clear skies most of the day. We could see the snow clouds up to the north though. The central belt is generally shielded from the worst of the snow by the highlands.

On a slightly other note - I hate how the media try to sensationalise it. Every year it happens "Britain set for worst winter in 100 years" etc etc :P

It snowed here since the first time I've lived here (10 years) in winter this year (Southern Hemisphere).

Never had snow at my house before that, or since then :P
