I use the rivet city hotel for storage and selling to merchants because I believe you don't own some containers in your megaton house.

 

Lockers, desks, etc...There are plenty of storage areas in my Megaton house.

Well, just like all the bethesda games, this game is way better with mods. Some mods are just amazingly fun. Like a there's an assault rifle that shoots like a shotgun (Like there are a bunch of pellets shooting out) except the pellets are mininukes. so it shoots like 50 mininukes at a time. It's just awesome. Obviously not balanced, but still fun.

 

I have a bunch of house mods which are way better than the original houses. I have mods that make the graphics better, add sweet guns, and so on.

 

Another kinda cool mod is one where you can put a suitcase-nuke down on the ground, and 35 seconds later it explodes, using the exact same animation and damage effects as the megaton explosion.

 

 

 

Also, there are even mods that let you build your own village. Like really customizable too. Mods make this game so much better.

Oh good lord those things are annoying, even at high levels. I'm level 20, and those things still are a pain. If I scorpion with a missile, it should die. That's my logic. Sadly logic doesn't always apply. And it takes at least a few hits to kill with a missiles.

yeah, although i'd rather attack a giant radscorpion than a yao gui or death claw anyday, although yao guis got easy for me on my other level 20 char if i saw them first and got headshots.

I had a weird glitch with a Yao Guai once. I threw a grenade at it in VATS and the grenade missed horrifically but when I went back into normal vision the bear was nowhere to be seen! 5 seconds later it falls to it's death right in front of me...

(I know this is a cheat, but it looks kind of cool) If you're on PC, first, find a random npc. Save your game if it matters if you kill them. Kill them, don't dismember them, just hit them in the chest or something. Then, lift them up into the air, so they're just hanging there by grabbing them, then go into the console (~ key). Type tcl. This will disable clipping and physics. Let go of the person who is now suspended in midair, take out a powerful gun, like a shotgun, and make all they're limbs explode. They will be suspended in midair where they were. Now, once you're ready, go back to the console, type tcl again, hit enter and close it. The body itself should go flying a large distance, and the body parts might explode in all directions, or just drop to the floor. You can also sort of charge how far the person will go by hitting them or shooting them a lot while physics/clipping is off.

 

In any case, if done right, it looks pretty cool.

But are they actually owned by your character? Because a lot of people on the bethesda forums have reported items missing in their drawers etc, and the days later find a megaton resident like jericho with an alien blaster

Well there are several topics floating around with posts of people saying they've lost items from respawning (unlikely) or NPC's like Paladin Hoss stealing them after a glitch in some quest (more likely) Also, I remember reading an 8-page topic in January about the subject, but I can't find it :|

 

 

 

I suggest you pay 120 caps for a room in the weatherly hotel, and never close the door so you keep the room forever. It has worked fine for me so far and the entrance to the rivet city marketplace is literally feet away from the room. I've never slept in the bed out of fear of the door closing or my hotel "time" running out, so I suggest you don't do that :D

yep, the game is very authentic, and although I got the same weird feeling when i went to D.C after playing the game. My mom wanted to go to the Museum of History and I was like "Hell no there are zombies in there!" Well, not really, but you probably get how I felt. :lol:

Since the .esm or one of the .bsa's were critically corrupt, they might not come back with it 'till tomorrow. If not then, then tonight. It should be back by tomorrow though. Thats my belief.

My friends and I, combined with a team of many, many other people, a secluded recording area, 3DS Max programs, scripters, and an extensive storyline, we're recreating New York. :D

 

 

 

The name itself is in development, but the obvious name for it at the moment is Fallout: New York. We're going to do the entire New York area, so its going to take a while. We'll have beta's and stuff as well. It's basically WIP stages, and we're going to release some teasers as well.

 

 

 

I believe it will be fun. With the content that is in it, I think people will enjoy themselves, like new simulations and full voice acting. Plus characters based off of my real life friends and stuff. I fact, we have a lot of the land done, plus new weapons and such.

 

 

 

I guess I'll post the features and stuff later on this thread, or a separate one. Whichever is more convenient, if people are interested. :)

Funny that you mention that! The Empire State building as it is now in the mod is pretty much a wreak because we assumed it would be indirectly hit with a nuke, but slightly damaging it nonetheless. I'm taking note of that idea, and I'll consult my scripter and friends. Speaking with my lead, he loved that idea a lot.

Make sure not to include buildings with modern architecture. I reckon buildings like the Empire State buildings would be best in place of some of the more modern of today. Remember, it's the 50's.

 

 

 

I think you should consider introducing some sort of massive holdout of humanity. I mean, New York's metropolitan area was the largest in the United States. Subway systems were huge, the buildings were relatively strong. It was a center for the world. Who's to say there isn't an insanely massive war going on there? And there's some great faction hiding somewhere?

 

 

 

That'd be SWEEEEEEEET.
