I installed it a few days ago and made my character and did the stats book thing...

I left all of them at '5' except for Luck. I put that at '10'. I wish RS2 had had that sort of selection...

Anyway, I already went near the door in the first little introductory level and it said "Level 100 Lockpick skill" or something...

Skills do not belong in FPS games.

Also...

The little tutorials seem a lot like Bioshock...

... What? Have you even played Bioshock? Not to mention you clearly don't realize this is an RPG.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

The part when ou had to enter your S.P.E.C.I.A.L.s is when you should've realized that it's an F/TPSRPG. And putting most of your S.P.E.C.I.A.L.s on 5 and putting luck on 10? Crits won't get you everywhere...

I own and have played Bioshock on both the PC and PS3 and whenever you get a mini-tutorial in Bioshock it has cartoon characters that are strikingly similar in style to the ones I have seen so far in Fallout 3. Adding to this the grimy textures, less than modern style haircuts, theme music, it bears a few resemblances to Bioshock's theme.

I went up to the door before I looked at the "Special Book". The general controls seem like an FPS, and I've never played an RPG before besides RS, if RS can even be considered one.

You all seem to be taking offense. I'm trying the game, I haven't done much in it yet. And if there do happen to be skills that you must train repetitively like in RS, I don't see myself playing the game further than that, unless there are cheats to get past these possibly boring repetitive sections.

Preemptive: Don't tell me to go play the game more before I comment here. It'll make you sound like an elitist.

Riku: Max luck seemed like a good idea at the time. Actually, all of them sounded like a good idea, but you can only pick one, E...

You raise up your skills by leveling up your character in general. You get a few points to put into your skills and the choice of a perk

Get lockpicking, science, and speech maxed up first then go for whatever else.

Heh, sorry. Guess I just found it kinda wierd that someone would think it's a first person shooter like Halo. And the Bioshock comparison seemed strange too, guess I never thought those two were alike.

Anyways, luck is a pretty bad skill to put too many points into. Maybe one, but strength and agility I've found to be the most important.

Actually, it sounds pretty ironic. Luck is a skill...

I'll really get into the game when I have a few hours of uninterrupted free time, probably this weekend.

Fallout 3 is amazing. I'm currently level 18 and working my way through the main storyline of quests, I recently aquired Dogmeant which is pretty cool. ::'

Also I have a question. At the beginning of the game you are faced with a choice, in Megaton you can either disarm the bomb, or detonate it. I decided to help the people of Megaton and disarm the bomb. However, does this mean I can nolonger get a suite in Tenpenny tower? The Megaton house isn't that good and Tenpenny tower would be so much nicer.

I've been to the tower already, and done a few quests in the area. Any help is appreciated. :)

I never got Dogmeat, is he part of the main quest?

And as far as I know, you can't get the suite if you don't blow up Megaton.

No, you have to head to the junkyard. Somewhere in there (I found him on the west side) he'll be tearing apart like twenty bandits. You can help if you want, but it doesn't make a difference, he'll win no matter what.

But he is insanely weak any other time, I just left him in Megaton. I didn't want my buddy to die.

Lol, same here. But you can also encounter dogmeat in your travels as a random. Its kinda rare, though. He got his [wagon] handed to him when he thought he could take on a super mutant behemoth, lol.

Alright, back to renovations on the mod...

Hoping to get a new Signature (with matching avatar) soon. :D

In the meantime...Steam username: )I'll rewrite it later (add me if you want)

I had The friendly super mutant (Whose name is blocked by the filter) and dogmeat, until I found charon, then I covered dogmeat in frag mines and shot him in the head, so I could get Charon and the friendly super mutant, and thus, I have now formed super-ultra-mega-force-alpha.

(I'm playing as a very good char. Btw :twss: )

Ease up dude, I played the game like 2 months ago and my only memory of Fawkes (still yeah) is him running into a radioactive room and me leaving him there.

I played for an hour and a half, got overencumbered after looting all the corpses I could find...

Killed the Overseer. Amanda didn't like that, so I killed her. Over, and over again...

I made it to the outside world before deciding I didn't want to limp around anymore and dropping all the stuff I picked up...
