Zamorak book is the best stats-wise, only real use of the god items.

 

 

 

Without ancient staff, the symbol of Zaros you wouldn't be able to use the great stats of a Zamorak book. And most use it for ancients. :mrgreen:

I just don't find Zamorak strong. He seems like a sneaky god who has to spy...and plan evil plans.

I understand that alot of people see strength as a testament to power but what about the other forms of power?

He is wary of a being who might have more power then him (who knows what state zaros is in all these years later).

I'm myself a follower of Saradomin. He's the God of the good and he's the wise guy. Simply, I do follow him because IRL I'm most alike him. And when it comes to who is the strongest one, all of them are Gods and that is enough for me. I don't care who is the strongest one, they would all pwn me easily :P.

Guthix is the strongest god I believe, he was the one that forced them all to another realm to leave the inhabitants of Gielnor in peace.

-zaros = we don't know, at least not... Chaous or something...

-Tumeken = I'm not even sure it is the god of the Sun, show some proof please.

 

-Elidnis = Growth & Fertility

 

-Amascut = used to be Rebirth, but now is Destruction

I haven't found the proof yet, but I remember reading it somewhere. In the meantime, notice the quotation marks around "pleasentry, order, and wisdom". None can be seen at the other god articles (as far as I've checked).

Ok guys, From what I've just read, not many of you seem to know a lot about this and are just blindly making stuff up based on you're opinion (no offense). I am a person who completed every quest in Runescape and spent a good amount of time studying Runescape history and gods because I find them interesting. These should help:

 

 

 

1. I don't recall EVER reading that Armadyl was any sort of god of order, and even if he was and Saradomin replaced him, it doesnt mean he is stronger than Saradomin. Saradomin has MANY followers and items. Armadyl has very few.

 

 

 

2. Yes, there are many gods in Runescape who we have not discovered yet mainly because a follower of Armadyl says so in the Temple of Ikov quest.

 

 

 

3. Saradomon and Zamorak had a big battle which was called the God Wars. Saradomin had Zamorak beat until Guthix showed up, stopped the war, and said he would destroy Gielinor of another war was to erupt.

 

 

 

4. That makes Guthix the stronger than both Saradomin and Zamorak, but Guthix mostly sleeps until he is needed, so he doesn't take part of much.

 

 

 

5. Yes, Jas is an elder god. He gave the Stone of Jas to Guthix, which Guthix used to create everything we have today. The stone of Jas is what Saradomin and Zamorak were fighting for. The stone of Jas is also sometimes called the Eye of Saradomin because, as I said before, Saradomin had it in his possession later in the God Wars, with him on the verge of victory.

So...After all that, its safe to say Saradomin and Zamorak arn't lame at all. In fact, they are the most interesting. Guthix mostly sleeps the time away until he is needed, and Zaros was backstabbed by Zamorak in order for Zamorak to gain godhood. It is said that Armadyl and Bandos will return to Runescape to battle again, so will Zaros to get his revenge on Zamorak, and Saradomin, of course will probably be fighting against both.

Get your facts straight. So, zamorak and saradomin, bandos, armadyl, tumeken, zaros, seren, marimbo, etc etc etc are all the gods of "imbalance", even though it doesn't seem so.

Most of the times gods represent places/elements and/or an aspect at the same time .. (god of fire and war for example ...)

 

so there is no problem of him being the god of the skies and pureness at the same time ... (well he can be god of skies or god of pureness but he could be god of both of them ..)

 

 

 

btw IMO Guthix cannot exist without the others too .. you cannot have a balance without 2 opposite sides ... ex. if you dont have good and evil you cannot have a balance between them .. or something like that.

I don't even have a clue why you would see Armadyl as a God of purity anyway. The followers of saradomin have puritanical views. The followers of Armadyl are more closely associated with justice. I suspect that Armadyl would be the god of the skies and of Justice, rather than purity.

There's nothing wrong with an absence of balance dude.

Penguins are atheist!!! They rely only on machinery and spy skills. :o

Also, Zaros is the god of "Nothingness" and "Imbalance" (The Void). Guthix is the god of "Creation" and "Balance". Zaros AKA "The Empty Lord", is the opposite of Guthix. Zaros wanted to take over Gielnor, not sure why though, maybe something like take its energies for his own? :-k We'll see soon enough in the upcoming quests. :mrgreen:

I feel like posting the list of known gods from my years of playing and reading of RS lore and quests. If you think I missed anything let me know.

Saradomin - god of order

Bandos - god of war

 

Armadyl - god of law and the skies

 

Seren - goddess of the elves, all crystal stems from her very body

 

Marimbo - god of monkeys

 

Tumeken - god of the sun

 

Elidinis - goddess of water and fertility or growth in general

 

Icthlarin - god of the spiritual aspects of death and also rebirth and the afterlife. Brought the Mahjarrat with him to help in his rituals of the afterlife.

 

Amascut - goddess of the physical aspects of death (she is essentially the grim reaper), now corrupt and addicted to destruction

 

Scabaras - god of clarity and knowledge through meditation, he too has since become corrupt

 

Crondis - goddess of physical pleasures such as hunting and cooking

 

Het - god of health both in body and mind

 

Apmeken - god of mental pleasures

 

Jas - an elder god, not much is known at this time. He is believed to have created the Stone of Jas, the source of all magic in RuneScape.

 

Zaros - "The Empty Lord", not much is known about his reign. He originally ruled from Morytania and was defeated at least once by Icthlarin before destroying much of the lush forests and cities that used to flourish in what is now the Kharidian Desert. Currently banished and weakened although rumors spread of his return. Some Mahjarrat are believed to have followed him during the same time Icthlarin had Mahjarrat under his control.

 

 

 

As any quester would know, our characters have met some of these deities face-to-face and some more in cutscenes.

 

To date we have met, or at least seen an NPC of, the following deities:

 

Icthlarin (face-to-face, his examine is incorrect, he is not a demigod as confirmed by recent quests)

 

Amascut (face-to-face, better known to the slayers out there as Sumona)

 

Guthix (cutscene, human form)

 

Tumeken (his shadow)

 

Het, Apmeken, Crondis, and Scabaras (an incredibly weak version of one is fought during Icthlarin's Little Helper, examines are incorrect once again)

 

It can also be argued we have seen Saradomin, Zamorak, and Guthix (in a nature form, looks like an old detail moss giant) during the mime random event although that has never been confirmed. They do look an awful lot like them though. Zamorak and Saradomin statues are on the log in page in standard detail.[/hide]

 

As for my favorites, as I can't pick just one, I would have to go with the Desert Pantheon. Their history is rich and they are actually the only ones we have been able to directly interact with. The only god to come close to that was Bandos but that was just a lousy avatar.
