Scouting Worlds - 15+ Supporters

Many rune miners use scout accounts to aid them it mining ore more efficiently. One benefit is you don't have to commit to a world that has no ore and wait 30 seconds between hopping worlds. My suggestion will not only help the rune miners to hop effectively without the use of scouts but also players who are trying to find an empty tree or combat area.

 

 

 

Basically I think there should be a box at login screen which you can toggle on and off called "scout world" when activated, after you log in you see the area and have 10 seconds to decide to complete the log in or go back to login screen based on what you saw. Now, if you logged in then logged back out to hop you will have to wait 30 seconds as usual, however if you scouted the world then went back to menu because it was crowded or whatever reason, you are not penalized by time limit to hop worlds.

 

 

 

Benefits:

 

1. Less scouts taking up all the good names (they will become a thing of the past).

 

2. Less time wasted trying to find that "perfect world".

 

 

 

Note that this would not be an option on pvp worlds.

Good idea, but I can somehow see this being abused in pvp worlds, don't know how but it seems possible. Having multiple scouts with massive logins... Seems possible to me.

 

I don't understand? I said at the end that this would not apply to pvp worlds.

Support pl0x, I like the idea~maybe when you log in as a scout, you don't even need to log! You are just a floating thingy, or a level 3 macro-looking char... Also you might wanna add that scouts can't talk, eat, buy, trade, assist, pray, or any of that stuff.... and maybe that can't get attacked?

 

 

 

I'd say that they should be invisible to all but the person in control, to save confusion

You won't even be visible to others, or yourself for that matter. You will see the area and a timer will count down from 10 (maybe there should be no timer?) with a question and two options:

 

 

 

Do you want to log in this world?

 

 

 

[Yes] [No]

 

 

 

If you do not select an answer you will log in to that world (or not log in, what do you guys think?)

Pures dont get advantages of not gaining XP, or not gaining combat levels, so why should miners get to skip out on the normal game process too?

 

 

 

90% of the crowded training spots would be more crowded, as everyone could look before they go, thus making any empty worlds, instantly full.

There have been many threads about pures not gaining combat levels or gaining unwanted XP from summoning (combat familiars) and a bunch of suggestions to have the game tailor made for them. This does the same thing. Your changing a game process (adding a spy feature for worlds) to benefit people who wish to train, or collect items faster. This throws in unbalance. This eliminates danger and risk. Why login to a world where there are revs? Why not just spy till you find rev-free rune rocks. This eliminates the point of revs. Why pit two clans against each other in GWD over a boss if you can just view-hop to a new world.

something like scouting orb u can drop that shows place on any world u like without u having to log on?
