High Detail- Not just flashy, its useful!

Featured Replies

yes ur screen triples and u can see further however it lags more.

it's cool, but unfortunately HD is useless at sara godwars - you lose the ability to change visible levels to "current" meaning you can't tilt the camera angle down to see where zilyana is

resizable also lags more than small or fullscreen hd, so I can't really use it - I generally stick with small, or low detail if I'm doing something that requires very fast clicking

I've been doing this for a while now, its pretty useful actually. I just keep my resizable in safe mode and it never really gives me any problems with lag or framerates unless i'm at the top floor on lumby castle.

Off topic: what browser are you using? that black/red theme looks cool lol

I'd rather use the small window with the settings on max than resizable on safe mode :P

Brilliant idea! <3:

I can do play full screen on my Macbook but my Family Computer couldn't handle it well because the monitor is too big for it. -.-

I love HD for this reason XD

Really has made it a whole bunch easier playing the game with the resizeable window, either having it real small for some tasks (tele training) or wide for others (fishing/banking). Being able to play it on a 22" screen my end, has made it useful for those repetitive tasks, Lowering the amount of times I need to click to get back to bank etc. Only downside for some is, that it requires a certain set-up/computer spec in order to play like this, which kinda can be seen as an unfair advantage to the game.

Let's talk about the side effects:

More work for your processor....

As someone who's used the lowest detail for more than 4 years, high detail is just too strange. Plus I never actually do anything in runescape anymore that this would help with.

[bleep] the law, they can eat my dick that's word to Pimp

I use low detail most of the time. But if I ever use HD I'll think about it. ::'

cool, though i stil like low detail. (what can i say, i'm a traditionalist.)

What.

I always use high detail, at first just to try it out, then afetr realising that it works fine for me I started using it regularly. Now when I try to play in low detail it...just look so bad in comparison. The extra screen space is nice too.

The quest points in the stat pic above this message is wrong, disregard it.

Yeah, everyone loves me!

HD ftw. Better graphics + larger range of vision = win. I've also always wanted to try two side-by-side screens. I do understand WHY people play in low detail, but I also feel that Hd is the much better option if your computer can handle it.

For some odd reason, my computer only gets choppy when I play on HD with the re-sizable window, but not on the Fullscreen. That is the only reason I don't use HD.

Yes, this proved useful for me when fighting green dragons in the wilderness. A dragon spawned just outside the pit and i was the only one who saw it.

I has herd, that lesser demons, MAY or may not, drop tormented demons. \:D/  :x :D :o  :? 8-)

Due to a typo, I am now stuck with 1k dragon darts and no buyer. Can I has bail out from tip.it plox?

Reminds me i saw you at shilo fishing.

Anyway ya but the clothes are so ugly

I dont need a siggy no moar.

having been playing rs for 4-5 years but taking breaks to play other games when im on my main computer ill play hd as i dont get any lag what so ever its the only reason i came back because fullscreen hd is awesome tehre is no downside and clicking isnt a problem when you get no lag and you get shortcuts to!. I guess most people that play rs dont mod there computers and keep it all standard as the game requires little computer resources to play like [Caution: Executable File] games.

HD FTW! get a real computer!

GWD solo drops: Armadyl Hilt sold at 63.5m - (More to come hopefully)

Got a new computer so I went to HD...

If, for the first days, i had to learn how to play and move again, it's now pure pleasure and i'm even faster than before : i learned the 'F' Keys for the tabs.

Though i often play with light parameters (dark caves) to make it brighter.

And since many skills require less and less clicks, the move distances is also reduced !

Anyone know the 'F' Key for summoning tab ?

Oh baby light the dark side...

I use HD when I have fast internet. (nobody on my network is on the internet) base DSL ftl

I do prefer hd but it's not practical to lag.

Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again

The spots at Shilo are the only place I have used HD in any meaningful manner - to see the river from bridge to Fernahei.

I hate playing this game in HD mode, though, because I am used to the placement of the icons in the small client. When that box gets larger 800 x 600 pixels, I find the back of my hand hurting - it's just too much mouse throw to suit me.

As neat as fullscreen looks, I always find myself going back to the 800 x 600 client.

PvP is not for me
