Im not on the internet for serious business, else i'd bother and get a real life.

 

But we can turn the internet into super serious business by spammingTHE GAME everywhere.

 

 

 

It's even become a satirical 'joke' that internet is "serious business" - that doesn't mean you have to go with the troll flow at every given chance.

 

 

 

If you venture outside of anime forums and video games, you'll find there is an astonishing number of intelligent and genuinely funny people online. You can also learn things you'd never pick up in a library or the classroom. It's just sad the flaming nerds are creating a reputation for the internet as an unreliable pit of trash.

 

 

 

You can get so much valuable information, professional opinions, etc.. If you just look in the right places. Sites like 4chan random boards are the mud of the web and should be treated as such; They don't represent anything except immature teen kids with inflated egos.

Of course I laugh at other users posts, especially if they are witty or funny. As they say;

After a certain time in off topic forums [not neccessarily this one] you grow desensitized to the general stupidity of humanity, so I tend to take 'stupid' arguments and comments in my stride,

 

privately giggling to myself with a smug sense of superiority. Obviously I don't go around replying "OmFgz0r N00bs!1 Lawlz - l2post...".

 

 

 

Remember - while everyone has the right to freedom of expression, that does not include the right to be taken seriously. ;)

Rather than laugh at debates, I'll sometimes find a somewhat overlooked, but still important, part of a debate and focus intently on that. For instance; there was a thread a while back about the transgender going on America's Next Top Model (she lost, by the way. About mid-season if I recall), and while everyone was talking about the whole "can she really be considered a girl?" thing I focused on whether or not it breaks the rules if she's had the surgery or not, since it's against the rules to have had plastic surgery (turns out s/he was pre-op, so it doesn't matter now). And it's not something I conciously do, it's just what I think about. But then I realize it and try and run with it as best I can.

 

 

 

But I don't think I've ever actually laughed at a debate.

Usually I can pick up even the subtlest trolls fast.. But I never figured out if YA really has such a big portion of the world's idiots posting there, or if it's just a bunch of pranksters pulling it off succesfully.

I honestly laugh at almost every page that I read. Too many people have become [developmentally delayed]ed these days.

I facepalm mostly, laugh only sometimes. I'm sure a few people laugh at my posts too, though.

Ill read them for fun, rarely laugh though.

On-topic: A long time ago (or what seems like it) in spring of 06( or 07) there was a whole bunch of Athiest threads. And they contunually would be shut down, but not without like 5-6 pages in a matter of hours. And this would be repeated for several weeks. Finally a official thread was made. It seems to have died however.

I'll read the first few posts or so of a new thread before i add my comment, but then i'll go back and read the comments before mine. I find it funny some of the comments have started angering other people and someone tries to make themselvs look smart but the person who replys to them shoots them down and bacally stamps "FAIL" on their forehead.

 

 

 

oh yes, skull, i do believe den and i have done what i just quoted on that guy. that is the only time you'll see me get all defensive about something like that, i'm directly involved with the team that is hosting it, and i'm a slave. he should pick his fights better.

I laugh at the ones where one side has good, well thought out arguments, and the other side replies with a your mom.
