MC_Kejml
Well, I've seen the "Greatest joy" topic and this came to my mind a while after. It's not I'd be making this topic of rebellious nature, much like I apprehended the Fascism x Communism topic, I am purely curious what you people think. I think the worst grief is not to die, as most people would think, but living a life in addiction. Be it drugs, some action (say, football), girlfriend, friends, things like that - and then lose it forever. Those things made you happy, and then you don't have them, thus you became addicted and the lack of those things literally "stole your soul :D" and you want more, but it's somewhere between hard and impossible, you sorta "live for it". Much like RpgGamer said recently in the topic about nakedness. [hide=RpgGamer's quote]For the most part, I see it as a bad thing for many reasons. Most of which is the fact that it's motivated so many inhumane acts. I look to history to learn a lot about human nature and the way we act. Human Nature facinates me. And it also discusts me. From what I can tell, we're all pure and innocnent, but very easily corrupted. Most of this time, this corrption happens post puberty. Although, fate calso has the capability to force corruption on the innocent at a younger age, but that's completely unrelated to the topic at hand. Anyway, as far as I can tell sex has created what was responsible for every human related disaster. I mean, at first sex is all about getting happy. but then you become dependant on it, some even addicted. this addiction (or dependency, regardless) is a motivation very high on the scale of priorities in humans. if we don't get sex, there will be hell to pay. it changes us. on the flip side, too much sex can lead to issues too. between unwanted pregnancy (leading to poor parenting, to start an even worse cycle I won't get into right now) and cheating, over sexuality is an issue too. As humans, we've really dug ourselves into a hole. Not enough sex can lead to anger. being denied sex leads to jealousy. unsatisfactory sex leads to misery and/or anger. after a while...it's not even a happy action anymore. pretty soon sex is the only thing that makes life worth living. you go through your crappy life to have sex. To some, it doesn't even matter who. Just to feel 'happy'. It makes me sick. I'm not saying it happens to everyone, as not everyone falls into this cycle, but a lot of people do.[/hide] Not saying this is the same as the stated corruption, but addiction seems very similar. So, what do you think that is the worst? This thread is not meant to be pessimistic as it looks, it's purely for voicing opinions. ^ my book :^_^: I don't play anymore, but I'm grateful I played through the best RS times! warren211
Having a regret. Whether it was something small like "I regret going out with that girl" or a real painfil regret like not saying goodbye to a dying loved one, it's very hard to get through the day (at least for me) when I remember that I had neglected to do something or did something wrong and paid the price. I usually have small regrets that irk me for the whole day; I've never lost a close loved one and hopefully will not lose any in the next few years. But I know that if I neglected to say or do something for a dying loved one, it would haunt me for the rest of my life. [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.[/hide]Apparently a lot of people say it. I own. http://linkagg.com/ Not my site, but a simple, budding site that links often unheard-of websites that are amazing for usefulness and fun. Zierro
A loved one dieing when you only find out how much they mean to you beforehand. Yep, that's my answer too. Just the thought of knowing you'll never be able to talk to them again is scary. :( Being on hurt on purpose is another good grief - especially when you've done nothing wrong. It sucks when you get to see the dark side of human nature be unleashed on innocent lil' you.
DerekZoolandah
Ooh, that addiction one is so true. I've spent probably over 200 hours on the computer the last two weeks. It's horrible, even though I've learned so much about history and life and culture and everything from simply being on here. Although if I actually had things to do with friends (who live near me) I wouldn't be on nearly as much. I present to you men, His Imperial Majesty Emperor Norton I. What a guy. EdgedThesis
Losing someone you love. I've tried thinking deeply about that scenario--felt like there was a crushing weight on my chest. redhaloguy
From such a happy thread to a depressing one. I guess mine has already been said. Losing someone you love. Not getting what you want. IGoddessI
A rich man asked a Zen master to write something down that might encourage the prosperity of his family for years to come. It could be something the family would cherish for generations. On a large piece of paper, the master wrote, "Father dies, son dies, grandson dies." The rich man was angry when he saw the master's work. "I asked you to write something down that could bring happiness and prosperity to my family. Why do you give me something depressing like this?" "If your son should die before you," the master answered, "this would bring unbearable grief to your family. If your grandson should die before your son, this also would bring great sorrow. If your family, generation after generation, disappears in the order I have described, it will be the natural course of life. That is true happiness and prosperity." The way of Zen The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. Furah
Accidentally killing somebody elses baby. I don't know how I could ever look the person in the eye. To realise that I had ended a life that had barely begun, and ended so much joy for the parents and family. (me and some friends briefly mentioned this on a car trip once, was going to post about seeing a loved one die in my arms, but I would feel more grief of the babies death as I will have caused it) Steam | PM me for BBM PIN Nine naked men is a technological achievement. The way of Zen I was going to quote Theoden and say "No parent should have to bury their child", and basically say what you said. If/when I have kids, they'd probably be more valuable to me than my ego. So losing them would be much, much worse. IGoddessI
cliche, but someone falling out of love with you. Good one that can hurt a lot. I remember when my fiance' told me he fell out of love with me... thank god he was just being a bastard when he said it to hurt me and didn't really mean it a few years ago. We've come a long way since then lol The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours.
