when the game stops becoming fun and more like a chore

Probably when i forget about its existence ;) .

 

I always keep merchandising trough the GE,

 

and even made a 10hp account :roll: #-o .

When the Grand Exchange becomes boring to play with. Then, I'll just dump all I have in the party room and change my password to gibberish.

Its a game. If it ever becomes too much to deal with because of real life events, then thats my fault.

 

I play, semi-excessive amounts of time each day, mainly because I have nothing to do. But I let real life take priority over a game.

 

Iv actually lost 15 pounds and a few girlfriends recently, but thats not because of me playing runescape.

 

 

 

If you ever have to question if runescape is taking over your life, the problem resides in you.

I'm getting a 5.6 GPA in highschool, running 4+ miles a day, have a steady girlfriend, and get in 1-2 hours of Runescape a day.

 

 

 

When will I quit?

It's almost like asking when I will quit playing tennis or another sport. I may quit competitively, but as long as the possibility is around to play, it will stay with me.

 

 

 

I am in 12th grade and have already been accepted to Duke University (one of the top 10 colleges in the nation), and I still don't see myself quitting any time soon.

I'll probably stay until i have nothing more i want to accomplish. I'll probably be around to get 99 in most buyable skills and possibly combat. Right now though I think it will most likely be either when i get those goals or when i go to college since music school won't exactly be a breeze. Who knows what will happen after i stop being busy with school.

I don't think I will just all of the sudden stop playing one day. I will probably start playing less and less until I eventually don't play anymore. I may not even quit altogether, but just play a few days a month instead of how much I play now (probably too much btw). As of right now though, I have no plans of quitting, although school is starting back up in a few days so I will have to limit how much I play (last semester of college ftw). But even if I stop playing for an extended amount of time, if Runescape is still around I would probably pick it back up at some point.

I usually take a short break if Jagex doesn't update the front page for over a week for some reason.. then I come back the next month (I think it's some kind of disorder :? ).

 

 

 

I don't really have an "official" leaving point though.

I quit when I wised up and realized that spending extended amounts of time playing a game even if it was because I was "bored" was wasting my precious life that I could be using to do something I truely enjoy and not immersed in a fictional world.

I'm ending it all within a year, (year 11 and 12). Or when i get bored of it, honestly as long as its still fun, and not stuffin up real life I'm happy with it.

 

 

 

Every time ive quit, i always told myself i would come back for the holiday events. So far, never have come back for the holiday events -.-.

 

 

 

Oh and i would probably check back every year or 2 to see if there are any updates that make it worth playing again.

Prolly never. I said I was going to quit last year and sold my whole bank, bought 99 range, sold 99 range, and play on again off again. For me it will be a slow quitting over time.

Some of the titles of the newer threads in this forum made me laugh. "When will you end it all?" "Are you afraid of death?"

Already semi-retired since most of my close friends have quit, I'm too busy w/ college/fraternity, and I accomplished most of my long-term goals

I put more effort into this game than a woman can put into birthing a child! Well... I played for 3 years and counting, and a baby takes what, 9 months? Okay, that's a bad example... But still, I can't just quit after all this effort. It's like making the worlds largest ball of lint. You put so much effort into, and enjoyed doing it so much, why would you want to vacuum it all up?

When i become bored of it. I'd probably still hop on to chat with friends and the like.

 

Although when Uni starts this year, i won't be online anywhere near as much as i am now. Not for leisure anyway.

I always dramicatlly reduce my playing time when something that is more important comes up but I'm not sure about quiting. It'd have to be something big maybe me driving soon will do it I'm not sure. But as far as in game causes to quit I'd have to say boredum which is catching on now adays after having 3 weeks off from school and getting various 99's and such which is repetitive and does get boring after a long time. But I am not even close to unlocking everything that I would consider fun so theres always something to do even if it is using 20M on barrages at CW .

Yeah that will probably drive your playing time down. It did mine, now I'm just active when I'm grounded like now.

Congrats, Duke is a great school I could only dream of going to. Though I do hate Duke basketball with a passion.

Almost forgot to add, never think I will completely quit. RS is always good for blowing some spare time you have on your hands. Can't say I will always be active; just came out of close to a year of quitting not to long ago.

What is duke, some university for extremly rich and intelligent people ? :lol:

not exactly sure. if i'm forcefully deciding to quit like getting hacked, banned, or an update...

I believe if you enjoy something you should continue doing it.

 

If you don't you shouldn't force yourself into it.

 

 

 

I will continue playing the game I enjoy until either:

 

I end up not liking it

 

I get really bored

 

An update puts me off playing :P

 

 

 

But since I only play 2 hours a day (which is like 20 mins compared to other players :geek: :ugeek: ) I won't stop playing for a while because everything is still fun for me :

 

And my Health IRL is no problem because I wouldn't allow myself to get insanely obese/ lose a girlfriend to a videogame.
