Hi, i have just started buying into the dragon armour and have been moderately disappointed by its stats. Is there a better alturnative to d sq? Is there a cooler shield with better stats? i see peoiple wearing the Toktz-ket-xil shield is that any good?

how is a Rune Berserker good for defence? Dragon Sq and Obsidian Shield own it in terms of defence. I'd say unless your realy that stretched for a better shield stick to Dragon Sq or Obsidian Shield for the tad' Str bonus while retaining good Defence. I personally never use anything but a Rune Def' or D Sq.

Spirit Shield = You have to do Summer's End to wield. I hope you can keep your sanity if you attempt this quest.

 

 

 

Rune Defender = Solely based on luck. Some people (like me) have spent 1000s of tokens and have done everything right, but still we cannot even get a bronze defender.

 

 

 

TzTok-Ket-Dil = Meh. It's okay for low-medium players. +5 str bonus is nice.

 

 

 

Dragon Sq Shield = Was hard to sell last time I checked. However, it has some pretty good stats. Doesn't look too bad either.

 

 

 

Unholy Book = Zamorak prayer book. Gives a nice +8 to your offensive stats, but +0 to defense stats. Useful for accuracy though, glitchy graphics.

 

 

 

Granite Shield = Heavy as hell. Only use one if you are a tanker looking for a cheap shield with crush defense.

 

 

 

Crystal Shield = Not worth the hassle. You'll regret crystal equipment because once you use once, there's no turning back. Non-alchable as well.

 

 

 

Holy Book = Saradomin prayer book. +8 defence stats. Nothing really to say.

 

 

 

Dragonfire Shield = Kick [wagon]. It's rather expensive and costs around 16M GE price.

 

 

 

 

 

Those are the top shield items that I can think of. I would personally stick with my dragon sq because it's too much of a hassle if the shield won't even sell on min. The stats are already pretty good and the shield has a nice color.

Use a rune defender its great.

you should try to get rune defender, probally the best at your level,

If you are getting hard use a different monster or if on slayer task use an Obby shield.

i have a dfs an a rune def an i always use dfs for str bonus just seems best to me

Dragon square is pure crap. Don't buy it.

 

 

 

If you want any better shields, there are too many to count but here are a few:

 

DFS, Rune defender, promoted spirit shields, heck in some places even unholy books or the Falador achievement diary shield is better... I repeat, dragon square is pure crap.

yes for training i'd go obby shield, rune defender if you have decent armour or not fighting something that will hurt you too bad

Don't be discouraged by the comment on how hard the rune def is to get. I got it rather quickly, just kill some armor pieces and gather about 1k tokens and you should get it. It's really useful with the slash bonus if you are a whipper.

Whats all this about obby shield? It's got worse stats than rune kite, and the same strength of a rune defender. If you want the str, get defender. If you want the def, get something else. And it has exactly the same range def as granite shield, which is better than rune kite anyways.

how can you not get a bronze defender?

I'm an unlucky guy I guess. I've gathered about 1000 tokens each run and have spoken to the lady and she said that she will make the cyclopes drop the bronze defender. I kept killing them and running around the room to kill them, but I always get adamant swords, black knives, and other junk. I would love to have a rune defender though, but I just can't get one.
