I've just got my quest cape recently, and I thought, WOW While guthix was too easy, Really, the 450 tormented demons were underpowered, The storyline & thinga was too easy, apart from the part where you make the herblore potions, I did it in a few minutes a part, It was too easy for "Grandmaster" more like Intermidate.. -.-

It was quite a long quest though. Seriously long. Also, the requirements were fairly high compared to other quests.

The quest is actually pretty darn hard without a quest guide, and the only reason that the tormented demons were such pushovers were because you had 255 Attack, Defense, Strength, Hitpoints... Go back and see if they're pushovers now. I'm sure that they'll just roll over for you.

 

 

 

TL;DR: Quest guides take the difficulty out of it. Don't like it? Don't use guides.

I completed the quest in five hours the day it came out. The requirements weren't too high, nor was the quest difficult. It's hardly a Grandmaster quest, merely a long, mediocre quest with a great reward.

 

 

 

Sindarin00, don't assume that every person who can complete a quest quickly and easily uses a guide. I haven't had to yet, the most help I get is what I ask other players.

so let me get this straight... you're mad that the last quest you did was way too easy. the quest came out 26-Nov-2008 and you claim that the requirements "aren't too high". what i do find odd is that you're posting this in January. now after 3 months i'd think that even the lowest level of players with a decent amount of quests done could do all of that skilling very leisurely. what else i find odd is that since the reward is so great shouldn't the pitiful *as i get the impression your giving me* quest be even more rewarding? i mean you didn't get some little b.s. amount of experience. if some one gave you 600 dollars for doing a course in school above a certain grade, wouldn't you do it? people may find that course too be very difficult and every ones different in terms of their preferences. also if you happen to have used a quest guide wouldn't that also be equivalent to having the procedure of how to solve every problem on a test/quiz? all your really doing is mindlessly copying what this guide does in either example.

 

 

 

if you did happen to use the quest guide (which i'm mostly sure you did) then i dismiss this rant and say your complaint is invalid. any one who is "really good" at following directions can do any quest that jagex has too offer.

Bolded for curiosity. The herblore part was the most straightforward part of the quest, how was it the hardest?

 

 

 

I have to agree here... Even though I used a guide (To avoid being caught in the black elite and Dagon'hai thing, then to avoid getting killed by the Elemental), the parts that I did not use it on were harder than most other quests.

 

You also didn't mention the Balance Elemental. The demons were more for plot and setting the area up; the Elemental was the real boss...

Do it without a guide, then complain that it was too easy. Seriously, the quests are easy because you guys stick to your little guides and know how to solve the puzzles before you get to them.

 

 

 

It was incredibly invigorating to do WGS on the first day. I was miles ahead of everyone on the forums, and, working with a friend of mine, we finally figured out how the making potions worked. Now that puzzle, without the use of a guide, was difficult but rewarding.

 

 

 

Just like if you want a book to be more rewarding, don't read the last page first, and if you want a quest to be more rewarding, don't read the guide first.

I used a guide to do this quest, and I must admit, I can imagine how difficult this quest would be without a guide. I even had some trouble with Movario's base using a guide. (Darn it, you could have told me not to open the chest if my chatbox says "you are not sure did you disarm the trap" :lol: )

I agree, I guess using a guide helped, but there was a few tough bits which would be tough without a guide, but most of it was possible. ;)

I personally haven't done the quest yet but from what others told me in game it was hella' hard. even some with guides found it to be a struggle. and with your melee stats im suprised you even thought it was easy. :|

Hmph you know I don't really care for this new generation of runescape players who can't even do a quest without looking at the quest guide. A true quester would only look at quest guides if he is stuck; any other time it's more challenging and fun to do it yourself. I did WGS without looking a quest guide, and it was a very fun experience. Finished it th second day of release.

I would say that even though the battles were fairly easy, the overall quest was difficult... I started it without a guide, and barely got through 1/5 of it (should I slap myself? :oops: ). I honestly think that Jagex could have made it harder, but I could safely bet almost anything that they didn't make it any harder because it would have then only been beaten by extremely high level players, in which case, people would have likely whined EVEN MORE than they already are... :roll:

How are they supposed to make quest much harder? It has crazy skill requirements, takes a ton of time, etc.

 

 

 

Remember when Mourning's Ends II came out, and how Jagex asked fansites not to release guides right away? Well the reason is that it's hard to make something that a quest guide can't tell you how to do.

 

 

 

Let's look at the huge extremes:

 

If a quest is too hard (practically impossible), eventually a guide will be made and then EVERYONE will use it, and complain that it was too hard.

 

If a quest is too easy, everyone will complain that it's too easy.

 

 

 

You can't please anyone... -.-

 

 

 

(Although I'm glad WGS was found easy by you, going for the quest cape myself, hearing that is a bit of a relief)

Since you admitted to using a quest guide here, you can't really say anything about the difficulty of the quest when you've pretty much had something there to hold your hand as you progressed through the quest. I'm pretty sure if you did WGS without anything there to tell you what to expect, to tell you what to bring next, to tell you what items you need, to tell you how to fight the monsters and to tell you how to solve puzzles then I'm pretty sure you would have a different opinion on it.

 

 

 

With your stats, you'd also expect the 450's to be "underpowered". After all, Jagex has released higher-leveled monsters in the past (like K'ril and Graardor) which can be soloed by people with your stats even if they've got minions to help them. Not to mention the quest guide probably told you how to fight them.

I used a Quest Guide, and while I thought the Requirements were easy to get, don't forget, at the time, they also included all the Requirements for every single Quest before it!

 

 

 

But man, without a Quest Guide, I don't know how people did it within a day! Props to all who didn't use a guide. (It took me 4 hours with a Guide, haha.)

did you or did you not use any type of guide what-so-ever, so we don't go making ASSumptions based on what every one has said. we all know what assuming does to people ;)
