One way is to do it yourself, as in, you haven't become a vassel of another kingdom yet. If you do it that way, then whatever castle or city your conquer will automatically be yours - however, prepare to have everyone try to conquer it. You can also, as mentioned earlier, become a vassel of a kingdom (a king will either contact you when you've earned enough renown, or you can go directly to the king and ask for one), now whenever you've conquered a city or castle, you can ask for it to be handed to you - but like Dusty668 said, you might not get it. From my own experience, you usually don't. There are apparently a lot of factors that decide whether or not you get the stuff you've conquered. I have now completely destroyed both the Khergit Khanate and Swadia kingdoms. 8-) Since I'm a marshal, I have managed to get the king to follow me, and he has over 330 troops. I'm doing good. I'm on medium difficulty though, so I use the health cheat if I get in a battle over my head. I'm doing alright, though. I have a garrison of about 150 Swadian knights (they tear [cabbage] up) and Rhodok sharpshooters. The Rhodok king is my master and all, but he's being a real [wagon]. I have about 50 knights and sharpshooters with me right now, and he's trying to get us and his 100-recruit army into battles involving the last of the Nords - about 400, mostly veterans and huscarls. PISSES ME OFF. I also miss my spirited charger. It got lamed, so I bought a heavy hunter. Huge, bad difference. Since Nords and Vaegirs (who we're fighting) are mainly foot soldiers, that charger was damn good. I just plowed through waves of foot troops, cutting with my tempered heavy bastard sword. Mmmm. Losing all your men and still having to fight 200+ guys on your own isn't fun, though. I considered giving up, but I knew the health cheat, so I just stuck it out. I remember my first castle siege on this one. I'd just been made a mercenary captain, and I'd delivered 7 cattle to a huge siege (400+ guys on each side, it was the ... Siezkh castle, I think). Then they asked me to join. Whaddaya know, three of our lords run off to chase some looters or something, so there are maybe 120 of us versus over 400 Vaegirs. So, I rush up the ladder, clear out the walls, then jump down and just slash, stab, heal, slash, stab for more than four hours. I had fourteen Swadian knights with me, and they almost made it the whole fight. And then for some strange reason, at the very end of the battle I got reinforcements. I've now managed to piss off the Rhodoks so much that they're unwearingly trying to rape all my villages, castles and cities at once. That'd be fine; however we're currently not at war with them, so none of my Nord comrades feel like helping me out. It's starting to become a tad tiring. House troops back then were the elite of the elite. They were Lord's personal bodyguards in battles. Also, I thought you had to level up the troops if they would be of any use in garrisons. This is good. I have a few villages that pretty much love me and each time I recruit I get 20-25 troops. I started another game and took one from the Vaegirs. Now I'm building a massive cluster-[bleep] army of the best troops in the game. Nobody even goes near it now, even though I had to keep going back to fight off Vaegir sieges. From what I can gather, it seems that you'll start off with not so great equipment and weapons, and then you'll gain experience for kills, which will allow you to get better equipment/classes. I sent them off the warpath for a few days to stock up armies and store prisoners, and they totally abandoned me and my 52-person party when Lord Meltor's 200-man army showed up. I lost one Swadian knight, lawl. But his troops were almost completely recruits, too. I was started in the nord area so i've become one. Addicted to this game, got it wensday and im already level 29 :oops: . I'm a vassel of the Nords now, Love having my own herald and things, its nice that your heroes and troops have the herald on any of their gear that can have it on too. Stupid swadians keep seiging my castle, but ive stuffed it with huskarls and elite archers, and an army of 400 against my 120 got downed,they didn't manage to get off the ramp and into my castle, the area was just stuffed with my huskarls and me swinging in and killing them before they could swing at us. My casualties total : 26 Theirs: 184 They didn't stand a chance. But our Nord army is incredibly weak atm because of the swadians, their was a mass battle when about 80% of both our armies were in one huge battle, it was 1k+ vs 1k+. Took me at least 2 hours to do that battle, died in the third fight, but had weakened them enough to win overall, but we were still massively weakened. And now the Vargeas (sp?) are taking advantage of it and wiping us out from the other side. I've been captured aand lost my army so many times now i've totally lost count, and they keep stealing my gear when they capture me, i stole a masterwork bastard sword off an enemy, and got it stolen off me #-o . Yah this game is incredible. Want to be my friend?
