Distracted
Well, how do you think life will look like when we switch centuries? Will it be a dim future, where diseases and war strike all of humanity? Or will it be close to Utopia, where man can finally agree to disagree? Will it be completely different from a technological point of view? I personally think either way. I think the world will be close to the way it is now, but ofcourse much more technically sophisticated. There'll still be wars, but not as much as now (I hope), and I also have a feeling medicine will be far enough to be able to kill most diseases that take a lot of human lives (aids, cancer, ...) GameSock
I think that in 100 years: A)...the world will be close to the way it is now, but ofcourse much more technically sophisticated. There'll still be wars, but not as much as now (I hope), and I also have a feeling medicine will be far enough to be able to kill most diseases that take a lot of human lives (aids, cancer, ...) ^What he said with society remaining and all(boring  ) OR B) Earth wil experience an ice age, killing everyone not within a few hundred kilometers of the equator. This would likely leave a few renegade groups fighting barbaricaly for territory, and during this time much scientific knowledge will be lost. Eventually, a small population of remaining humans would rebuild. OR LASTLY C) Some type of super-virus will be developed by a terrorist group from the existing DNA of the small pox strain. The virus will be virtually immune to most human medicines, and will have an extreme ability to adapt to all environments and medicine. Within a year, 99.9% of human will be dead leaving small pockets of isolated air-sealed safezones. Wether or not they would survive is unknown. :shame: Your the dark one. mmmcannibalism
Well, its likely the world will assume a largely socialist state, after all as everything becomes machinized there will likely not be enough jobs available to actually keep our current model. If the only work we need is people to manage production of goods and maybe someone to repair the machines(we may make machines to repair machines) then clearly you cant employ enough people to prevent poverty without a socialist/communist system. This is of course assuming we dont have a massive was that destroys industry and have to rebuild. Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed. That's a frightening day when we can make machines so efficiently and cheaply that they replace a large enough amount of human jobs to create unemployment. I don't think that'll happen. redhaloguy
Calm down and think about one year and gradually get up to 100. Most things will stay the same. MACHINES TAKING OVER. Lenin64
A thinking machine is one that can learn from its mistakes and adapt accordingly to succeed in future situations. I know people that can't do that, and we're trying to develop machines that can. So long, guys, see you in the Matrix...unless it already has you. Command the Murderous Chalices! In 100 years, robots will have rebelled against humans and turned the human body into a batery by absorbing our body heat! What Matrix? I don't think there will ever be alot of machines that can actually think like a human being. Also, humans are just way cheaper then a robot. There are billions of people that can work at very low wages, why invest millions in robots that might some day be able to do the same thing as all these humans?
