Yes, Sworddude is correct in saying it will pain less, but the pain you feel, is actually muscle fibers

tearing/breaking, this is how muscle is developed. After these broken proteins have been repaired, you gain extra muscle.

So no, when you feel pain, its your muscles growing.

After a while it goes away. Just keep at it.

If you stop because of the soreness and wait till it goes away, once you start back up again the soreness comes back worse than before. At least it did for me.

This kind of happened to me, over the summer I stopped working out and just worked really. When school started back up I started working out again and the first time after doing so my arms killed.

I used to do this on purpose, because that's the type of pain that I love. Like the soreness after getting shots, I love that as well.

Laura, massicist ?

Must investigate further.

Laura, I'm inclined to belive that, your picture in you avatar isn't what you look like. :?

For all I know you might be 6ft tall, weigh 120Kg and have a rather large handlebar mustache. :o

Masochist? No, it's just one form of pain that I find pleasing. No one else feels the same way?

It is, I can assure you. If you want, I have more available on the Real Life sticky. Though if I was to have a mustache, the one I would like would be:

Agreed, it also makes me feel accomplished in some odd way, lol.

Anyone's jaw or foot muscles/ligaments ever get like, contracted? The pain is numbing and I often make it happen on my foot on purpose because in a way it's enjoyable. I dunno. It's weird.

I sort of enjoy that kind of pain, so don't hold it against her. The other enjoyable pain for me is the burning of the throat after running long lengths.

After a while your body won't be as sore, but do as DaDieselDude says and keep at it, even if it's sore.

Ah, just let your muscles recover for a day, and then work out some more the next day. Working out every other day will keep your muscles in decent form, from experience. In August, I could barely run a mile, now I can run about two because of all the running I did at uni between classes.

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.

If you aren't sore after a workout and the day after, you either aren't doing it right or need to change things up so that your body doesn't get used to the workout routine. Although the soreness when you first start out is generally bad enough to keep you out of commission for two days or so, there should still be at least some soreness that you feel after any workout, especially if you're lifting. If there's no soreness your muscles probably ain't growing.

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.
