February 15, 200917 yr If you had to choose, what would it be: play the role of a powerhouse or make friendship the higher priority? *-P.K.M-* Website
February 15, 200917 yr I don't think there are clans who have power but no friendship. You cannot war without a feeling that you would do everything to protect your clan mates, and to fight for your clan until the last pizza/swordfish in your inventory and even after. I personally like the mix of them. I wouldn't like too much power, but a healthy mix is always good.
February 15, 200917 yr I agree with gamerr that no clan with power can get that power without a sense of community. My opinion is obviously biased but I definitely feel that Corruption has the best, tight knight community in the clan world. We obviously take warring very seriously but really that's just one aspect of our clan. At any time 24/7/365 you can find 20-50 people talking on Teamspeak, and more than that on our private IRC. Our forums are also very active, and we do have a fun event once a week on rs to blow off steam and just be silly with each other as friends rather than having to be serious. Without our outstanding community I doubt we'd be as good at pking as we are. We can pull off amazing feats like being the first clan to pull 100 people to pvp and keep them for over 12 hours, or end with over 80 people after a record-breaking 15 hours, and it's the incredible sense of comeraderie and bonding with our clanmates that spurs us on. We don't fight for ourselves, we fight for corruption - for our friends. Proud Leader of the Corruption Clan. PM me to set up a fight or for any queries relating to my clan.
February 15, 200917 yr To be honest, I feel a nice mix of both makes a clan worth being in. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
February 16, 200917 yr Power fades, Friendship is everlasting. "Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable - a most sacred right - a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world."Abraham Lincoln
February 16, 200917 yr Well really that depends on what kind of member you cater your clan towards. I favor, and have always enjoyed, a clan that values both sides of the spectrum. Having a strong, fostering community alongside warring excellence. It's hard to find the medium between these after being in a long-lasting slump. And it's the clans that pull through those hard times without compromising this balance that are true gems. You can say you value friendship and that's all well and good. But what happens if a friend takes liberties and skips events? As a leader, there comes a point where you have to draw the line between friendship and leadership. And as a member there has to be a time where you ask your "leader" to be more than just a friend and take an active role in ensuring the clan's welfare and progress.
February 17, 200917 yr Community, in the old wilderness I would fight till I had cleaned my bank because of the bond I had with my fellow members. With love to one, friendship to many, and good will to all.
February 17, 200917 yr Community, in the old wilderness I would fight till I had cleaned my bank because of the bond I had with my fellow members. Why not any more :?? Proud Leader of the Corruption Clan. PM me to set up a fight or for any queries relating to my clan.
February 19, 200917 yr When I look for clans, I normally look for the community and friends. I like clans that are laid-back and just plaing out silly(sometimes) liek hitin ppl in klanwarz wiht a ruber chiken and snoballlz and sayin "gf noob" all teh timez ya? Having fun with community is my preference and power too liek hitting 10's with rubber chickens. : Quick Link to Lem's Blog
March 9, 200917 yr Community. Power doesn't matter to me. I just like being in a clan because of the friends.
March 9, 200917 yr As mentioned previously, power will come as community grows. You're only willling to die and return for hours if you're doing it to help your clan, and consequently, your friends. Proud Retired Council of The GladiatiorzClick here for our website - 110+ F2P Combat Requirements
March 11, 200917 yr As mentioned previously, power will come as community grows. You're only willling to die and return for hours if you're doing it to help your clan, and consequently, your friends. This is a good point. However, many people feel that being friends is enough for the clan, and wars aren't necessary. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
March 13, 200917 yr Clans that have no community fail, the entire point of playing with other players instead of by yourself is for a sense of friendship. Former LoP Applications Manager, Dragonwood member and Zdzira warlordCurrently warring with Legends Never Die
March 15, 200917 yr Working together is the most important thing. If individuals lack the capacity to function together, then neither a sense of community or sense of power can be achieved.
March 15, 200917 yr I think it's definately got to be community. A clan where you only get together to win wars is essentially pointles. I have much more enjoyable doing things I like with people I can call FRIENDS. Besides, if you have a tight-nit clan community where everyone can trust each other, power shortly ensues :) Look guys... I absolutely must be a mass baby-seal murderer!
March 16, 200917 yr Working together is the most important thing. If individuals lack the capacity to function together, then neither a sense of community or sense of power can be achieved. EH? I must've missed that :o Anyways on topic, Glim here knows what he is talking about and therefore I agree with him. (I was sure I had posted on this topic already.) ~Val Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant: "If I live, I will kill you, If I Die, you are forgiven." Such is the Rule of Honor.
March 17, 200917 yr In all the many pure clans I've been in we've always had several (unofficial) circles of pkers who in times of war come together instead of one main group. The Warlords control all groups and the leader/s control the Warlords (Although different clans have different rank systems. In FOE the warlord rank is seen as a leader rank but in MM warlord is just the first stepping stone of promotion). So overall in a clan where I have some friends already in there I would say Power > Community.

March 21, 200917 yr With great power comes great responsibility.... Ok sorry I just had to. Couldn't resist... Power is only important to those leading clans. Power to get things done, power to represent their clans effectively, and power to set rules and requirements. For the rest of the clan it's more important that they feel comfortable being part of the clan and enjoy their time in it with the other members. The leaders DO need to keep up that feeling of community while wielding their power but it's the members that tend to change that feeling of community much more than the leaders. In conclusion: Power and community should be balanced out somehow between the members being a nice close knit family and the leaders making guidelines to keep it that way.
April 3, 200917 yr 90% friendship and 10% power. I'm sorry but nobody follows/listens to a leader they don't like/respect. I personally look for a great community/people rather than an almighty clan  .
April 4, 200917 yr Most of you are stressing community, but it seems to be a long history of power that tends to attract members to certain clans. Once you are inside, I'm sure the community would keep them there. Mind you, this is from an outside perspective.
April 6, 200917 yr Lots of people have talked about the fact that you cant be a powerful clan without that bond of friendship holding you together. Personally I disagree, new members are drawn to clans for the power, they stay because of the community they find after they win the wars. And just to play the devil's advocate for a moment; what if there is a falling out between a clan leader and a well respected member of the clan, is there such a thing as too much community in the clans that break apart because of internal conflict?
