Hello. The past few days since the update to the randoms I had been getting a few randoms. Not too much different than the amount that I got before the update. Last night however, I played for 11 hours and got ZERO randoms. Personally I think that totally sucks. Randoms were a decent source of items. I did like the choice of reward option, but it doesn't really matter if I get no randoms.

 

 

 

In my opinion all they really needed to do was get rid of the costume rewards and the randoms that affected more than one person. The costumes are useless in gameplay. It was pretty messed up when say you were woodcutting and maybe a litle afk and someone else came up to start in on the tree turning it into an ent. Not even really your random.

 

 

 

I hope this lack of randoms does not persist.

People complained about the excess of randoms before and now about the lack of them now?

How were they? Gettin a few uncut gems every day... Genies were the only useful one and now each of my randoms has gave me an XP lamp so i like it...

I personally love that I can actually TRAIN for hours on end without having to deal with several hundred randoms with rewards that add up to a few more sapphires for my stack of 500 odd uncut or 300 odd cut whihc only fuels my 2000 odd games necklaces or 50gp which gets dropped.

 

 

 

I also love that they are now at least worthwhile when they do crop up

 

 

 

and get rid of the costumes are you insane????? the random costumes are some of the most loved in-game for the 90% odd of players who don't find the need to parade about in their armour and weapons w/e they r doing

this is a prime example of the grass always being greener on the other side... :|

First off I have never compained about too many randoms. Yes the rewards do add up. I play all the categories so when I get around to doing a certain one maybe once a month then all the rewards pertaining to that one are there.

Costumes are useless garbage. I don't wear armor while doing anything other than fighting. I wear boots of lightness and a spottier cape. You know those things that actually have a purpose of aiding in game play.

If its not a rant why are you getting slightly sharp tongued towards peoples responses?

I do agree costumes don't "aid gameplay" but for the vast majority unless there an absolutely vitally gd reason to wear nothing bar the cape boots and gloves they like to look interesting.

 

 

 

I would find rs rather dull and repetitive if all anybody wore was default clothes or armours, atleats the costumes give it a bit of character and allow people to express their personality through their avatar

I did get a lot of gems from random events--in fact, they totaled up in the thousands--but this is also for the better for when you're training on more dangerous monsters or just basic monster hunting. If you're killing a GWD boss, would you want to be teleported by the sandwich lady?

Yeah I'm glad all the randoms teleport u out then put u bk because it means if you do get one during combat you can actually deal with it rather than having to ignore it and hope u get a kill in time.

 

 

 

Though I'm also liking the randoms for combat seem to of been crushed.

 

 

 

I have been power training at armoured zombies pre-update I got at least 1 random an hour while in-combat if not more. Past few days since update I had 2 random, neither of which occured during combat

All they had to do to avoid combat being interuppted by randoms was put in some code that detected whether or not the player was in a battle and then wait until a few seconds after combat to give you the random.

 

 

 

They made the random rewards better for higher level players then made it so higher level players get less randoms. If the reward amounts averaged out the same it wouldn't be a problem, but the total lack of randoms means no rewards at all.

Yep, since he represents everyone who ever had a problem with random events :thumbup: .

Bear in mind that random events were put in the game for ONE REASON, to fight macroers and bots.

 

So the better Jagex gets at fighting 3rd party programs without the aid of random events, the less use there will be. I hope that we will return to the point before random events in the future.

The other day I was firemaking and I got as much as before it and I got a lot of them.

I'm getting quite a few still and I don't care now because I get genie lamps :)

I've only gotten one so far :o [whilst being in a pvp fight -.-' got teled out of the fight]

 

 

 

but maiby thats because i dont bury bones/tele [poor lvl 28 pure]

i got around 8 randoms in the process of gaining 950k xp with fm brawlers.

Great: I havn't had a single random since the update. Also, the randoms aren't task related (Gravedigger, you dont need to be burying bones, etc), and the rewards are now worthwhile for a small task. (However maze IMO was always worth the 2 mins it took.

 

 

 

Bad: Now it's harder to get those rewards: Clothing won't be as easy if you don't get randoms enough, or just the random items you get that are sometimes worthwhile.

But of the events nearly all ARE the costume events and being a lower level = more events.

 

 

 

Therefore is ppl around 2000 are getting like 2 - 5 in a day newer players will still be getting a fair few of them
