Dizzle229
As the title implies, what are your favorite scary game scenes? I predict Lenin will be active in this topic from what I've seen him play on Live. For now, I'll leave you with Rapture's very own cosmetic surgery expert, Dr. Steinman. Btw, notice his first sentence. He seems to be talking to Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty. nine naked men
In Dead Space, how you go through a doorway and all of a sudden you see this massive shadow of a Necromorph skitter through the corridor you just came from. You [cabbage] yourself, then go back into that corridor very slowly, weapon aimed and ready all the time... you turn the corner, nothing's there. And then it pops out from a vent behind you and throttles/disembowels you. On a similar note, when you're rounding a corner and see a Necromorph running away and jumping through a hole in the wall, only to pop up from a much closer hole in the wall, oh my god I practically died. Dead Space has some really good shock/scare moments. sleep like dead men wake up like dead men

I start to shoot at it and it jumps up in the vents. I think it's away so I keep going on, and then the [bleep] goes out of the vent behind me and attacks. God nearly [cabbage] myself out of fear.

Harakiri
Yeah, I hated that part in Bioshock with that dude with the crosses on the walls, that was scary. I also thought it was pretty creepy/cool when you fought the big cheese in RE4. His bottom half falls off and he climbs around with his top half, the spinal cord hanging from his back. That was pretty cool.
Bloodredsword
Not even a horror game...Brother's in Arms:Hell's Highway. I was playing it at like 2 in the morning, and it comes to the part where the little boy dies. You get seperated from your squad in a burning building, so you're running through, stabbing german's ect. Then it gets to this part where there's this really long burning hallway. I just tried sprinting all the way down, and then all of a sudden out of the blue, THE LITTLE BOYS DEAD BLOODY FACE FLASHES ON THE SCREEN. I just about fell out of my chair. Listen to the mighty words of Bloodredsword. Tip it MGC Xbox live leader board!
Dracion1
Tbh Ravenholm in Half Life 2 still gives me the heebie jeebies, yet I don't find anything in Left 4 Dead scary. Not even witches :? Lenin64
Bioshock. Fort Frolic Power to the people machine. That statue.....it's even worse than the dentist, because the atmosphere in that cellar is so much different, and none of the statues had ever moved before that. Ever. But corpses had. And the way it was in the chair....It took me about 5 minutes just to walk past. Another Bioshock, also in Ft. Frolic; there's a hole in the wall with an item in it. When you go over to it, a figure runs past. In hindsight, that's really not so bad, but by that time I had just gone through the statue and I about dropped a brick. They do that in the first Chapter of Dead Space, too. And anything else from Dead Space. Especially one of the parts in the food storage, I think it was. And the Hive Mind. FEAR- there's one part near the end, or close to near the end, where you're in some sort of apartment being renovated. Anyways, it's dark, and at that point it was one of several times where your flashlight stopped working (a little cheap if you ask me, but whatever). Then you round a doorways and suddenly Alma IN YOUR [bleep]ING FACE flashing right on there out of the darkness, not just appearing but coming at you, i don't even remember anything else, but that was the scariest point of the entire game right there. Everything else at least had some warning; a sound, a laugh, something. But this was just BAM! And am I the only one who thought the Steinman sequence wasn't really scary, just disturbing and downright awesome? it was pieced together so well. Command the Murderous Chalices! Drink ye harpooners! drink and swear, ye men that man the deathful whaleboat's bow- Death to Moby Dick!BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! AndyPandy
[yt]0GVhQ7YD3ms[/yt] 1:30. So don't let anyone tell you you're not worth the earth, These streets are your streets, this turf is your turf, Don't let anyone tell you that you've got to give in, Cos you can make a difference, you can change everything, Just let your dreams be your pilot, your imagination your fuel, Tear up the book and write your own damn rules, Use all that heart, hope and soul that you've got, And the love and the rage that you feel in your gut, And realise that the other world that you're always looking for, Lies right here in front of us, just outside this door, And it's up to you to go out there and paint the canvas, After all, you were put on the earth to do this, So shine your light so bright that all can see, Take pride in being whoever the [bleep] you want to be. Lionheart_0
The first time I saw the Dead space intro, in the middle of the night, It freaked me out. I was sitting alone. And playing halo for the first time, and getting to the flood, that was pretty scary too: Most of the others that have been said in this thread I have to agree with. The scary parts get lowered a little after the hospital in Bioshock so if you haven't had a heart attack by then you'll be fine for the rest of the game. I haven't played Dead Space yet so I wouldn't know.

Orpheus
Counter-Strike Source I just LOVE when people just pop up out of nowhere, scaring the [cabbage] out of you and making you spray your gun at their direction, hoping to get the kill.
