NightShadeDream
i always read the rants first, but after a few they start to get me down, so I thought i'd start a topic of positive things that happen in the game: someone helps you on a quest, shares a mining/training site without being a jerk or someone just stands out as a good sport on PvP. What made me think of this: I was mining in the West Lumbridge Swamp location just killing time picking up a some mith ore and coal, when people start showing up. Experience tells me to leave now, cause usally the situation turns negative. but everyone was SO friendly and supportive, we all vied for the same ores but there were no hard feelings about the outcome. the conversation was even pleasant :D It doesn't really seem like a big deal, but little things like this restore my faith in the game and the other gamers. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does." -Allen Ginsberg
Zoov
Yeah, that has happend to me. It doesn't really brighten my day, but at least it makes me content. I do like getting along with others. Sometimes some people claim that nodes are "theirs", and that they own it. Then I mine it and they think I am breaking a rule, lol. darksonic45
It's sad that we think these small insignificant things are positive. Just shows how bad the population is.

12pure34
Well, I normally don't tend to brag about myself, but heck. For once I am going to do so. I am a friendly guy. 'Last time I did something unfriendly is when we crashed the KBD and once when we crashed a DK-team. In both cases, the 'raidleaders' decided to do this. Since I am an old-World of Warcraft player, I learned to listen to raidleaders. Call it a weakness, but being prepared for a trip and after 5-8 worldhops.. ye ok. I give in, we crash. Being an old-World of Warcraft player, I know what a good community looks like. WoW is as we all know far more mature since well.. older people play it. But for what I expected at my arival back to runescape (yes I quit that darn-forsaken game for the right reasons ^^) But for a community with a reasonably low average age, the maturity level is dangerously low. So a topic like this.. won't make my day sorry. I get happy by doing what I like and by surrounding myself with people that have the same vision. As an example, I was around Temple building minigame. Great community based on helping eachother. Blast furnace, 50%+ has the same view of helping eachother. ''Fast sc123'', the skillers of SC, great community based on helping eachother. Nature rune running, a thank you from crafters are every assist. A community based on helping eachother. If you are really annoyed about rants ;) your just in the wrong community. I can't stand grinding skills. Not enough nice people !
kill2pleasure
Ppl who are mean to other ppl online make me laugh haha.... This is a game n it should be played for fun, not to be the best or the richest and step on other people. Im glad there are possitive experiences in this game, when i first started playing everyone was so nice, but now and then i meet a few ppl who are mad at life so act e-hard. Its funny, yet sad :shame: Home World: 99Irc-Chat: #Aod
CookMePlox
A rave to... All the people who help you out when you forget the stupid little items like a pestle and mortar, a spade at barrows or a hammer at Bandos or any of the other ones that everyone forgets but no one admits to forgetting... Kudos to you for making such an interesting thread. JoeDaStudd
I try and help others out when ever possible. Simple things like discarding items for people, telling them where an NPC is or blessing a grave helps the game no end. The thing is most people only think about themselves, which normally hinders them more then they like to think. For example I was making KC for bandos not to long ago and someone asks if I 'll discard an item for them. I drop a shark and say ok, then 2 seconds later the player gives me a key half for helping them. Someone tells me a pest control world I'll give them one next time they need one. Then in the past I've been with people who don't help any one other then themselves and shoot themselves in the foot. I was tanking bandos and was low on food asked for some they refused meaning I died which ended in one of them dying and the others teleing. A simple bit of help would have saved a lot of trouble for everyone. Outsanity
Nice that you've had a positive experience. I always get the opposite. People like to be obnoxious because of my combat level, mostly. Sounds ridiculous, but I can't even tell you how many times I get the idiots who will purposely try to spot steal while I am training and then when they get a few good steals in they usually say, "Haha. I'm beating a 138. What a noob." etc etc. I've honestly stopped putting faith into most of the Runescape community simply because most of it is nothing but underage kids or older people who lead sheltered lives. There are only a handful of those who play the game but don't let it become their life, and are kind to others AND keep the play mature. I've got my friends list filled with people I can have mature conversations with, who don't beg and who show support rather than malice. I encourage you to keep this kind of thread alive. It might do some of us some good to hear that not everyone who plays Runescape falls under the already mentioned categories. :| |2,300+ Total|138 Combat|12 Lvl 99 Skills|99 Slayer|
