You should try boosting, the risk is worth it. I mean, you only have 1090 in Halo.

BR BR BR? HUEHUEHEUEHUE

But I EARN those achievements. They don't do anything, so why go for them that way? All they have is the respect and accomplishment that goes with some of the harder ones, and if you cheat then they don't even have that.

Let's ask limpbizkit why he goes for achievements, since after all, he has like 61K GS.

BR BR BR? HUEHUEHEUEHUE

I always saw them as extra goals to increase the longevity of a game. Seems to take the point out of it if you just cheat for them.

It's not really cheating if Bungie lets you bring a whole party of 8 into an 8 person game..

BR BR BR? HUEHUEHEUEHUE

I'm assuming that lim goes for them for the reason I mentioned, for the sense of accomplishment.

And it IS cheating because Bungie has said that it is cheating. That's why you got banned the first time. Honestly, there's no point in achievements you don't work for.

I agree. Achievements are there for you to achieve, not easily gain with your friends. Your gamerscore has no real life worth, so why even risk getting banned if it doesn't translate anything to real life?

Hello Tip.It,

I am writing this post due to the fact I have just banned banned from earning XP for two weeks on Halo 3 because I was boosting for XP and achievements. I was just wonder if you guys think boosting for XP/achievements in games is OK or it should be disallowed. I have noticed the game companies themselves deal with boosting VS Microsoft doing anything about it. Personally I think it is ok due to the fact some games have ridiculous achievements like getting a Perfection Medal in halo or reaching rank 100 in Gears Of War 2.

I have all the non lone wolves/campain achievements except "Post Mortem" I'd say I boosted for about 75% of the achievements.

I'm pretty sure Mlbfan was trolling first, but I think he stopped for a while, not too sure though.

If you really want my opinion on achievements.

For me achievements are one of the more fun things of the xbox. It makes me pick up games I would not normally pick up. I have done boosting before and I have played some of the most terrible games ever made. Was it worth it? Yes. It's worth playing through every terrible game even if I do enjoy it just to find that one game that I pick up mainly for achievements and really enjoy. Having had many like that.

When it comes to boosting a lot of people do NOT realise how much of a long and boring process it is. Yeah I am going to "cheat" and use a few harder ones to start when it comes to this and boosting.

Overview

Estimated achievement difficulty: 10/10

Estimated time for 1000 : 900+ hours.

Offline: 8 (160 )

Online: 41 (940 )

Minimum playthroughs: 2 (3 recommended)

Missable achievements: Tact. Instructor if you don't finish every mission with a S ranking, which will happen most of the time, you will not get this achievement.

Glitched achievements: None!

Cheats disable achievements: No Cheats

Credit[x360a would like to thank nukefarmer for this Road Map]^

900+ Hours for achievements if you boost them.

With most of that time being spent on the on-line ones where you are pretty much forced to boost 2million experience per class for the Valor achievements.

If I remember correctly, a guy I am boosting with currently for another game has stated that you need FIVE people and all have to live for just 20 xp a game.

List: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game ... ds/guide/#

Another game for boosting .. Quake 4 and G.R.A.W for the same reason. Leader board achievements.

Quake 4 -

Rank 1

Rank 10

Worldwide.

How do you get them achievements in fair play? I mean seriously? They are ones that you need to boost for using a "glitch". With G.R.A.W its a heck of a lot harder.

G.R.A.W -

World Champion - Rank 1 overall worldwide.

Solo Champion - Rank 1 Solo worldwide.

Team Champion - Rank 1 Team worldwide.

Meaning .. A lot of very had achievements to obtain and takes a LOT of dedication. As I have said before a lot of people do NOT realise how much of a long and boring process it can actually be to boost.

G.R.A.W - http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game ... ievements/

Quake 4 - http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game ... ievements/

With games like Halo 3 a lot of it is skill based and now with it being a lot older game you get a heck of a lot of second accounters. If you are low rank or new to the game chances are you wont play your skill level but a lot of second accounters. So how else would you actually get the achievements when you stand no chance against all these second accounts.

Also you have games with achievements like 10 win streak from SFIV and 100 Ranked wins on UFC. You also get quitters and people that only use one move for a full game. So that's just yet another 2 games where a lot of people will boost the achievements for.

Ill end it here with a few links ..

http://xboxfocus.com/columns/26-outside ... index.html

http://www.achieve360points.com/forums/ ... hp?t=85347

And the last one being what a descent list of achievements

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game ... ievements/

Personally I really think it depends on the game. There are some games that achievements come by so easily that boosting isn't even remotely needed, but there are obviously some that are the exact opposite. I suppose you could say I agree with limpbizkit, it's a damn long and boring process.

I don't really see the need to "boost" in Halo 3 though. The majority of those achievements are ridiculously easy that it shouldn't even be considered. I managed to get almost all the achievements (setting aside the Mythic Map-pack ones) just by playing the game overtime. That's the way achievements should get gathered. Only time I can recall I boosted was attempting to get Zombie Genocidist in Left 4 Dead. But even then, I got to enjoy playing the game.

...I mean, 50G for assassinating three people on a certain map? Damn, bungie.. #-o
