Go around collecting monsters, training them, trading and battling other players, etc. When you make 50 more games exactly like that, people aren't going to be interested anymore. I have very fond memories of playing NFS2 with my younger brother on our PC. :P Yeah, the idea behind the games is a solid one, but how did they make this many? I've only played a few, but they're all the same - you just shoot people and try not to get shot. They're not dynamic at all. I could just be ignorant, but from what I've played they're all pretty much the same boring thing. Just with different graphics. Aren't all RPG's just you choosing abilities to kill other dudes? Aren't all RTS's just you building dudes to kill other dudes? Aren't all platformer's just you jumping on dudes (and things)? Face it, you can generalize any genre -- it doesn't make it true though. Trying to say an entire genre is overrated? Play some Half Life, System Shock 2, Deus Ex, Quake, Unreal Tournament, No one Lives forever, STALKER, Crysis, Left4Dead and Team Fortress 2. All vastly different games and different experiences in their own rights. The two closest games I listed to being the same are Quake and UT, but I think they have enough notable differences. You might not just like them which is fine. Certainly does not mean they are even close to being the same kind of experience. That's true. Your opinion is invalid. Um, you say that the legend of zelda is overrated without giving a reason; then say that someone's opnion is invalid? Sure, in this thread, there are people naming games without a reason, but they aren't claiming that other's opinions don't matter. You might not like the genre, the same way i particaluary dislike FPS, but that doesnt make it bad (i personaly don't like CoD 4 but i admit it's a good game) Overrated: DDR Any gh or Rock band after GH:3 Halo series Tomb raider Fire Enblem FF:vii and beyond (the best ff was vi) Golden Sun The Sims Gears of War Assassins creed. Therefore, this thread is about games that you think aren't as good as the glowing reviews they got said they were. To contribute, Everything Final Fantasy game after VI, Animal Crossing, everything Marvelous made after HM:FoMT, Fire Emblem that's not on the S/NES, and every game that you like that I don't. Pc Gamer gave this a 92% review (IIRC) and I got bored after the first few levels :( CoD4 (PC) The console games would definately win game of the year for me but the PC version just had something missing in multiplayer. I think it could be missing out all the aftermath flaming in the lobby between map switches. God that game was fun on the xbox 360. Alg Posted August 8, 2009 Share Posted August 8, 2009 Games that are overrated IMO: -The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Morrowind is better imo) I might agree if not for the horrid combat and game breaking glitches/oversights (cannot advance in Imperial Legion, character I was supposed to escort got glitched and died long before starting it, and that's just one).
