so...wheres the bs part of jet propulsion, exactly? and due to the highly sped up time in this game, its not unlikely for a satelite to be in positon within a few minutes. and their locations were spread so that no land mass is more than a few "hours" *(game time)* from the attack range of a satelite

Well had I been in play at the time of you placing them I'd have shot them down, you don't have any decent reason for them to be there, honestly they just scream out "I WANT ABSOLUTE POWAH OVER J00!!!!!" Shoot the [bleep] out of my country, I don't care, I've relocated the majority of my population anyway. I will never, however, allow you to have such weapons. Seeing had we all been online at the same time, all attacks from your rods from god are nullified. Go on, shoot me, I dare you.

waaaaaaaaaaait, how do you nullify a rod falling from space? well? they are going mach 8; much too fast for you to stop. you cant just say "that didnt work because i said so". thats not how the game works. and no, NOT all my satelites were destroyed, because there were alot still over russia to prevent ground based attacks, and they have enough defence systems onboard to destroy any other satelite that may attack in space.

and can you rephrase the "don't have any decent reason for them to be there" thing? because from what it seems, you are basically telling me that the entire idea of having a network of them just for something like this is nullified by the fact that i have no reason for them to be in a place to attack...when there are always some in place for an attack and ones that arent can soon be relocated there

Shot them down as in the moment I realised what they were I would have shot the satellites. As for the phrase, I mean as in they have no use other than destroying anyone that pisses you off. They can't even be defended against, once they are released the target is doomed, by the equivalent of an atomic bomb minus the explosion and radiation.

EDIT: On the teleportation idea, make it inaccurate. e.g. if someone was out there far away in space and wanted to teleport to Earth they would end up somewhere in our solar system, possibly right near Earth, possibly out in the orbital path of Pluto. It would also be limited to teleportation space craft, which I will create an artists impression of one soon. Might even make a model in SketchUp, will see if it's good enough to share.

you may have shot *some* down, but you didnt shoot them all down, not by a long shot. ive already stated the reasons why, too. i still have roughly 10 stationed above russia and another few left just in random places. though i dont expect those ones to last long...

I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"

walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come

Can we possibly get some kind of random number generator for this?

It would make war much fairer...

My Dyson Shard is in operation, and is currently generating enough energy to power my entire country.

I will keep my nuclear facilities online until next year, by which time the first superbattery from the Shard will have arrived, and will be placed into an underground facility designed to send power across my entire nation.

2Xeo5.png

Amusing how I stated back on page 50~ that we needed a proper game mechanic for war.

But I don't know; I think Dusty, Latino and I are doing it pretty well in Africa at the moment.

Russia just completely overreacted with his win button & war crimes. [Go on, someone put him on trial for murder of innocents! lols]

its pretty much impossible for you to get a visual of, let alone destroy, the ones over russia. and any satelites or shuttles you send to engage them would be destroyed before it can take down any.

How would it work exactly?

Give each unit a value, or something?

Because if Dusty counter-attacked with 600,000 troops to my 200,000, and RNG said I won without a scratch, that'd be [bleep]ed up. Hell, even if I won with 100,000 loses it would be a bit iffy.

Well, you work out a realistic scenario, both players work out a response to said scenario and a war judge then agrees to setting the probability of each person's scenario being successful.

You run the numbers through the generator multiple times, and then the one with the most "Wins" gets to use his scenario.

The other player must adapt his tactics to fit the scenario that won.

Rinse, repeat, until the war judge feels the war can be ended, get a probability of the war ending, run the generator again.

Decide the consequences of the losing player/continue for another turn, depending on the result.

The war judge must remain completely unbiased and neutral in all of this.

Also, the war judge should probably run the generator at the time, as well.

I think that system would work pretty well.

Roads are being laid down all over Burma and cambodia, as are hospitals. We're also starting plans for hospitals in/close by all towns/citys, as well as police stations. about 100,000 members of my army have volenteered to be in this police force, so with some training, they'll be ready for action. We're encouraging citizens to get a job outside of the ones we supply. such as working in a grocery store, to help get the economey going along here. Production on weapons and army vehicles has been halted for now, as to save money for the things we're doing right now.

Things we're building:

Hospitals

Police stations

Community centers

Firestatations

A few grocery stores, to help people find jobs and to encourage others to start their own buissness.

Roads

Large houses in every town, that have food and water for the homeless to use.

Jails/prisons

New cities and towns

Parks for said cities and towns.

New laws:

Drugs are illeagel (When I say drugs, I mean the ones that are illeagel in the USA. I really don't want to list every sing one), and tabacco is too. Currently, less then 0.5% of In-game burma smokes, so we won't be making many people anyone angry, or have rioting. It is a waste of money for the people (Very few can afford to smoke) and it's a waste of money to provide these people with healthcare.

Anyone caught stealing will be heavily charged, unless they have a very good reason. (Eg. They're starving, their kids need waters, ect. Although seeing as the houses we're setting up, that shouldn't really be needed.)

Hopefully, Burma is taking a turn for the better. All of these things will be finished in 15 years or so, if all goes well. Truthfully, it won't so probally more like 20 years.

We really should play a modded europa universalis or vicky game of this.

As for war, I really think the only way is a player surrenders his land and becomes a moderator of sorts.

That's dumb. There would eventually be no one left. I think if someone loses or surrenders, their conquered land is taken and they can basically restart with less technology, much fewer people, etc.

If we're talking about how war should end, then perhaps we should make it so the "capital" can't be conquered (though it can be attacked, to simply hinder the defending player).

Thank you for the responses, Japan and Holy Empire.

I'm developing some new guns myself, I won't go into much detail until they're used in war, if ever. Only posting this so if I'm ever being attacked and I use this weapons, no one accuses me of hitting the "god mode" button. I don't think they're ridiculously overpowered or anything, and I'd say they're fairly realistic, more so than some of the other inventions that people here are using...

Awesome game, but I doubt it could be incorporated into this somehow.

And i thought this would die around page 50 #-o

But its nice to see that in almost 70 pages since i last looked, the war system still hasn't been decided.

Nice to see Germany controlling so much aswell :)

Okay, as a safeguard against people being kicked out of the game, nobody should be allowed to lose more than 25% of their ORIGINAL country.

If some people could help me with these rules, it would be much appreciated.

Alright, how about this.

Since the major reason for declaring war on me was my expansionism, how about we hammer out a peace treaty that says I won't expand at all beyond the 6 countries still left in Africa me and Doom agreed I could have, and I won't bully anyone around with my empire? Really, this war will go no where, since both parties are fairly evenly matched, and since I don't plan on attacking much at all, the whole war will just boil down to you guys throwing mass amounts of troops at me, causing huge casualties, and in the end nothing will be really gained except for small parts of Africa.

Idk about Findenland, though, as I want to just wipe that guy off the map for being such an idiot.

That sounds okay for me.

I mean, war is just deterring us from advancing in the thread.

I want to see interstellar warfare, and instead of countries, entire planets owned by one person

Anyways.

Rhadamanthus II is under construction now, as is my space station.

On the topic of Findenland's actions, I think they are really, really unrealistic, and that entire thing should be completely rethought.

The funny thing is, is that if I were to go by his idea of warfare, I could insta-take over half his country, and take only 100 losses. All I'd have to do is use rivers under the cover of darkness!

My Dyson Shard is in operation, and is currently generating enough energy to power my entire country.

All too true, but the world is massively over populated, and war is a good way of purging the census.

I'm going on a vacation for the next few days. PLease don't make me read 30 pages when I get back :ohnoes:

However, by the time I post again, the cloning process will be exactly as of that in Brave New World. So it's not all bad.

You easily could, if it worked for me, after sending 300,000 soldiers into the most heavily guarded place on earth. The only problem is that you would take more than the nighttime to reach any major city, so you wouldn't always have darkness at your side.

We should work out a treaty of some sorts. I will stop attacking you once and for all if you promise not to attack any other countries and if you give me Poland and Tunisia (and their respective technology, military, and population.

Since the war is almost over, I was trying to get you to invade me and lose a bunch of soldiers due to extreme temperature related deaths, by aggravating you. I'm sure you won't attack me though, because that would still put you into another trap.
