Just a slight change to the list Ross. Yggdrasil's system is 22LY away from Earth.

Ah, sorry, I was just making up numbers there, since I didn't have the real number.

Hex, your race can't be immune to both acids and alkali at the same time, as that makes no sense.

Just as it can't be resistant to both high temperatures and low temperatures.

No amount of "Emergency evolution" will change that.

FYI Mather, a flamethrower is over 150 degrees in most of the flame. Quite far over 150 degrees.

An average flamethrower can incinerate things around 50 metres away, which does lead me to believe that a flamethrower would totally maim extremophiles.

Honestly, the whole bacteria idea is quite stupid, you should just go with a normal race, since you're going to be incredibly limited by a bacteria race.

No minor/extreme volcanic/arctic planets, lots of weaknesses, difficult to create tech that fits it.... Besides the fact that the whole idea of bacteria combining to create intelligence is totally nonsensical.

Dyson sphere is now complete, and we can start on FTL travel. SInce the whole world is researching it, it would be done by tommorow?

We can assume that research started as soon as the sphere was large enough to power a small warp drive, so that would have been about 10 days ago.

Cataclysm II 3/4

Exeos VII and VIII are produced.

Shipyard in Sega-Res 2/4

I'm going to go and make that list of systems now.

Just because the whole world is researching it doesn't mean it will be done faster. In fact, that might actually make it slower due to all the organizational break downs between communication and transfer of information. The world's been searching for a cure for cancer for how long? (which by the way, even with all these crazy in game gene enhancers, no one can cure cancer. Not me. Not Dusty. No one.)

I'm writing up a treaty that all players will have to agree on before it is honored. Honestly these types of treaties cause more wars than they prevent, but I'm gonna place this one in anyway for the sake of the thread.

Currently, I am the only member on the only known "paradise" planet. Doom may also be on it by now, but point is, it's very vacant. It's not gonna stay that way obviously. We all want a big piece of this pie, and I'm going to ensure that somehow, we will. First draft of this contract states that:

1) Each player is entitled to a chunk of the planet, a size no more than any other player in resource ratio.

2) No military units are allowed within 1,500,000 kilometers of the planet

3) Space need not be made for new players joining the thread at anytime

4) No one may "claim" land. You get what you actually land on (will be determined through random interger drawing)

5) Rules may only be amended by the complete consent of everyone on the planet at that time, final say must pass through myself (RpgGamer)

6) Any breaker of these rules will be teamed up on by every other member of the thread as a whole

That's a first draft.

Any signers?

I'll sign it. I'm sure dungeonal wouldn't mind. ;)

This means that my plot of land will be territory of the entire Britannian Empire.

Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.

hmmm. YOu seem to have already put a flaw in the treaty. How are we going to handle joint rulerships? Giving you a double plot would be too much, but not doing so would kind of screw Dungeonal up...

how bout Dungeonal gets the land plot next to you, but you don't have access to it?

But then, you would have land that you couldn't do anything in...

maybe you should just get a double plot, considering you are a joint kingdom. Dungeonal should make more decisions though, he's practically not playing anymore.

I'll sign would it be okay for you to put some of my colonists on it (just want a small plot really)

EDIT: I just realized something about the bacteria! They would not be able to move as one as there would be no connecting nervous system as such they would simply be a amorphous blob incapable of thought or movement.

Sorry that I threw a monkey wrench into your treaty. :-(

Maybe we could have plots based on the land area of our empires on Earth.

Whatever works though.

Right, The new race is not a bacteria but a bacteria best describes what it is. its actully something which is microscopic and transfers electricity

name = midi's for the small animals/

ionine.png

Pay attention to the left picture, The middle bit creates electricity and channels it aswell and the outside bit allows it to be conducted and is jelly like. once the entire thing groups together and the electricity channeling things act as nuerons. there is lots and lots of these, they reproduce assexually. when together they are capable of origional thought and are sentient and become brighter depending on how much is added. it can survive heats ranging from -50°C to 70°C if it is exposed to anymore then 70°C it burns away but if it is under 50°C it simply freezes untl it is warmer. when grouped together. as a blob they move by pushing against each other in a sort of rolling motion.

if it wants to be hard it tells the midi's in one area to compress together.

[hide]jelly.jpg[/hide]

the simply appear and feel like jelly, they can change colours easily but normally appear orange.

Acid slowly effects it along with alkali at 0 and 14 ph minimum, this slowly makes it subside and weaken.

Radiation doesn't effect.

it is airborne but will only travel to the biggest amount unless deprogrammed.

What happens when I hit it with a bat?

If you hit it with a bat while un compresed your likeley to get the midi's jelly everwhere, as a jelly you'll basically make it less clever, as the midi's are everywhere they would slowly move to the biggest shape, the glob which you hit with a cricket bat, you'd in other words slow it down. if it is compressed it won't be able to move but it will be quite hard and it will be like hitting a human with a bat but without the pain.

Also the midi's around the area where you directly hit will die.

to destroy it i'd advised a shotgun though. or even better acid/alkali's.

what? Just because I don't see fit to waste my time trying to explain science to Hex/Mather doesn't mean I don't read everything. I'm always in the IRC! Hmph!

That contract is fine to me, and a slot next to Sere is a good idea too.

I have no doubt that 'someone' will have a problem with it though.

'Tis I, 'tis Vindice, 'tis I!

Yeh I have a problem... there will be no warfare in the game.

meatlover.png

I think, Hex, that if you will be in the game, there will be warfare.

Hex.

...

It was for one planet. One, planet. Besides, why not renege on the contract if you really wanted to?

There are already about 40 planets.

What the hell, I'll sign.

I'll think about the new contract.

My titan is almost built.

Exactly what is this titan you speak of?

EDIT: Do we have a mechanic for orbital bombardment and does tech research carry over?

Ill sign. rep by land area works nicely for me.

Hmm... I think I'll leave that offer, I don't want to have to divide my forces up for a small peice of land that is relatively far away from my home planet.

Anyways, about the FTL travel.

Doom mentioned something about beginning research into it like 10 days ago, but I think it got deleted.

I remember that post talking about starting superluminal research as soon as the sphere was large enough to power a small warp drive, so I assume that 11 days is enough for Superluminal travel engines to be tested and built.

So can we get Superluminal travel tommorow?

Notes:

Exeos IX is produced, X will be done in about 4 hours irl time. Cataclysm II is going to be finished in about 3 hours irl time.

Can I take a look at the new version of the map, Doom?

Also, Hex, extremophiles die at around -25 degrees.

2Xeo5.png

Yeh but thats on earth and extremophiles are varyed.

Microbes wont survive below about -25, the water inside them freezes, causing the membrane to be ruptured.

Make it -20, not -50, and I'll be happy with it (Well, not happy, but I'll accept it at least)

Yay, ross won't kill me :)

I've changed it, will it be able to unfreeze again however.
