Grim, why can you colonise a minor arctic?

Who wants to sign the "Blow up hex treaty." It states that if hex attacks us, we are free to obliterate him. C'mon, it'll be fun!

I am shure he will not lead any aggressive attacks, maybe some defensive ones in our little star-system, but you don't have any buissness there unless it is trading as we have the only two planets there.

Hey I just realized something! That I can colonize just about any planet (aside from major volcanic) and that you have a major artic planet in you system. 1 ship has been dispatched along with a war-ship

You can't colonize major arctics, and minor arctic would probably be rather negative. Major arctics are like, -100 degrees.

10% of pop + 10% of pop (because it was two days) + total pop = 12 million.

3/15 nanotech

You don't get 10% of your population each year.

Plasma windows have been bent, one big is quickly but carefully fitted to atlantis, which is now equipped with several ZPM's, puddlejumpers and a lot of drones and brought to the arctic planet.

There some of the Jaffa it brought along start constructing an outpost equipped with a few thousand drones.

Atlantis finds an ocean on the planet and submerges into it for protection, out of view for anything.

-Remember jumpers are to small to be hit with any normal weapons of war. 4m high, 4m wide, round, 8m long = 100m3 about the size of a SUV.

:shame: We will not allow you to get a beachhead in our system.

Back at Dakara some of my scientists are still working on making the plasma windows into shields, while the rest is now working on nuclear fusion(being researched on Earth IRL, what we have is nuclear fission).

No, you bent plasma windows in one year.

You still need more research. Quite a lot more for something that can submerge cities while keeping them safe. You also never fixed the power problem, and thus, your city's shield collapses and everyone dies from pressure and drowning.

Secondly, MAJOR ARCTIC PLANETS ARE VERY, VERY HARD TO COLONIZE.

One of my space stations in Sega-Res is completed, two more tommorow, then another 2 days after that.

Data splicing in 9 years.

Cataclysm IV produced, sent to the Sinabo system with 3 cargo ships which carry about 200 helios orbs in total.

Rhadamanthus VII to XI will be produced now, they require one year each per space station, so that'll take me 3 days.

2 Cataclysm ships and 2 Rhadamanthus ships are still on the outskirts of Imezon.

I start Project Ares. It concerns AI and warfare machines. It should be done in 10 years, with 30 billion per year being spent on it.

I'm stretching my budget a bit, so thats all for the moment.

The zero point modules or ZPM's would generate enough power in quantities, when they are more effective I'll only need one though.

But alright, major arctic planet remains untouched and plasma windows remain flat. Man, that sounded odd.

How much power do your zero point modules produce?

It would need to probably need to be in the terawatts to fuel something like that.

2Xeo5.png

Ross when did I ever say I was going to touch down on the planet?

I'm setting up a space station there...

LNYvk.png

Seems rather innefficient. Unless you plan to mine the arctic planet of course.

I don't know actually, but I know three fully completed could power those shields under water for ten thousand years if they are switched so that one is used at a time by crew members.

Impossible. That is millions upon millions upon millions of volts of energy.

It could not possibly exist.

Working on a upgraded version of Farm Spray (the spray that increases crop yield).

Terraforming is going to start on Mimir, in the hopes of changing it from a minor volcanic to a rocky planet sometime in the future.

Also working on building a network of underground tunnels and enclosures that could be utilized for rapid deployment and easy defense of a city. These are being built on Midgard.

Midgard pop at 480m.

What's the max population Earth can support, factoring in agricultural improvements and whatnot?

I'd hazard a guess at between 10 and 11b, Dusty.

Wasn't the population of Midgard about 260m only a few days ago? Neh, whatever, you can be trusted to be right about your own statistics.

Probably around 400,000 at most, Hex. But I could be completely wrong.

'Tis I, 'tis Vindice, 'tis I!

Pop = 1.4 Million.

Doesn't anyone realise that we should be dealing with billions, England has 62 billion people in it at the moment.

meatlover.png

The entire world has approximately six billion people in it at the moment.

If it's the thought that counts, why aren't humans innately telepathic?

Oh sorry, I got confused.

and the approx amount of people in the world is 7 billion.

It 'twas. But, I have so many things working to increase population growth (drug to increase probability of twins/trip/quintuplets, drug that accelerates child growth - meaning someone could have 4 pregnancies a year, the robots that run the child daycare, mass incentives to have children, new planets to colonize and incentives to do so, drug that increases the fertility age of humans, etc) that population growth for TFed is around 2000% higher then normal humans.

Hex, your population would be 10.4 million.

But Dusty, how many of your people are willing to have 4 babies a year? I don't recall you creating a drug that removes the pain of childbirth! :P

I see. Let's hope that my teching into similar genetics will be helpful sooner rather than later. Still, that's pretty impressive.

'Tis I, 'tis Vindice, 'tis I!

Whoever was doing plasma windows, bending them is beside the point. It's creating them that's the hard part. I think I'm pretty much the only one with the technology to do it without cutting off power to my entire nation.

I think it's called morphine :P

Anyways, updated my post on the second page (Terran Federation Military Structure). Any thoughts on it, anyone?

And Doom, I don't remember you ever posting how you did plasma windows (as in, making them actually usable, considering the energy needed to power them), just that you have them.

Won't morphine cause birth defects, or something equally bad? :D:D

Yeah, I don't recall Doom's post on plasma windows but neh.

You are correct, I just didn't care to post the long version and thus simplyfied it.

Created by the Ancients millions of years ago, ZPMs are capable of generating massive amounts of energy, which is drawn from a pocket of subspace-time known as the quantum foam (subatomic wormholes constantly opening and closing and fading in and out of subspace). As a ZPM supplies power to a system, the pocket slowly destabilizes itself until it collapes entirely, having been stripped of all its inherent energy; how quickly this process occurs appears to be directly proportionate to the amount of power being supplied. Once the pocket collapses the ZPM is no longer able to supply power and becomes, for all intents and purposes, useless. (ATL: "Rising", "Trinity")

ZPMs have a potential life of many millions of years, and the amount of power generated by three of them is sufficient enough to power an energy shield over a city the size of Manhattan for 10,000 years whilst under the pressure of several thousand feet of water as well as orbital bombardment, and can easily allow for intergalactic hyperspace travel. Even just one ZPM can easily power a shield to survive the most powerful energy weapons in existence for several hours, lift a city-ship weighing millions of tons (plus any water caught in the shield bubble) off a planet, send it into hyperspace, then complete a successful landing on another world with more than enough energy left to supply much of the city-ship's primary and secondary systems for at least several more months, and fire multiple salvos consisting of thousands of drone weapons.

With completed I mean researched over 100 years, that's over three real months, the version I use now is actually not more effective than a 5*5m solar-panel alone with an endurance of 5-7 years..
