I could probably draw one up myself 'cause I understand how it works and so do loads of others but the majority don't seem to understand it :(

It's pretty simple to grasp, but I think if you made the two wheels it would be easier for people to understand.

It doesn't improve your chances of getting a rare drop, it just increases your chances of getting a GOOD rare drop. If you bring a RoW to GW, you won't get a better chance of getting a rare item. Rather, you'll get a better chance of getting a hilt instead of a shard. Similarly, at TDs, it'll improve your chances of getting ruined dragon metal than claws, since Jagex made the ruined dragon metal rarer and was intending for it to be more expensive.

Yes it improves your chance of a better rare, but the Moderator in that post says Ring of wealth works on common rares. But:

What rare is the better one then?

Does it affect drops thats not commonly dropped such as Abyssal whip, Black mask, God hilts, Bandos and Armadyl armour?

I don't think it does. All i know is that commonly rares seem to be:

Godsword shards

Dragon boots

Rune boots

Rune full helm

etc

There is common drops, rare drops, very rare drops...

Isen't God hilts under "Very rare" which might mean that Ring of wealth don't work for them?

Even frustrating is that what items is rare and very rare changes from monster to monster...

But right now i wanna create a list of items that Ring of wealth have high possibility of working on based on players experience. So please no more talk about how Ring of wealth works.

EDIT:

I know what's common rare and what's not. And Godsword shards are common rares. Very often i have gone to Bandos boss with Ring of wealth and had Shards.

Once two friends got a Shard each (We did non Ls Bandos)...

Just remember Sirhemen if that post was from a forum moderator it has very little meaning so realy going deep into what he/she said without knowing whether it was a Jagex moderator a volunteer is a waste of time. I'm just putting that out there you should do as you wish :)

It seems to me that there's a significant increase in rune full helms from abberant spectres while wearing a ring of wealth. 90 kills with the ring netted me an average of 1 helm for each 15 kills. Without ROW (the next 90) I received 1 helm for each 30 kills. I should do some more tests, and I'll throw pictures in, but I believe it was highly effected by the ROW, or I could just have been having a good day.

No i have used Ring of wealth alot there, and i have gotten alot common rares. Where my record of Rune full helms being 6 of them in 1 task!

So i will add that to list. <3: Thanks for your help.

I think you're wandering into questionable territory by adding that to your list.

And sample of 90 is way TOO small to be considered a reliable statistic. You're going to have to go to the thousands of abb spectres killed to get an accurate estimate... for actual rares, maybe even a hundred thousand kills or more.

I can confirm using wealth at aviansies increases the amount of rune daggers and reduce addy bar drops.

And this was strange too, at Aquanites, I wore a RoW once and noticed I got more golds and greens that run rather than their majority drop of crimsons and blues normally w/o RoW.

You'd have a better chance of reverse engineering the game's code than figuring out how that ring works or what's behind it (referring to this list).

Only thing that's know is, they say it works, we think it doesn't, but we'll keep wearing it anyway because of what we heard.

What do you mean? I've worn the lumby explorer ring since I got it. While it has low stat boost it comes with a free unlimited teleport to a spot near a bank. That is almost invaluable when you don't always walk around in armour. It's also a useful teleport spot right near fally/varrock/draynor. I wear it in boss battles, regular training, or just walking around. I'm lvl 112 but I don't feel nooby wearing it.

thats a bit strange, aviansies i can kinda understand but why would it make crimsons and blues less common?

How many Aquanites did you kill exactly.. Anyway RoW doesn't affect charms. They're on a "3rd wheel" that spins on every drop, if that monster drops charms.

The post contains information from a Postbag from the Hedge that Jagex put out AGES ago. Someone sent in a question about how the RoW affects rare drops, and that was the response from Jagex, heavily clouded in garbage talk of course.

Not official, but its pretty much common knowledge on Rsof. Yes I know they're horrible forums to read but trust me. Charms are not affected.

I think he's wrong about the clue scroll though. I don't think thats affected by the RoW either..

Couldn't blue charms be counted as a rare drop?

No, there would just be less of them on the drop wheel for that certain monster.

Wait less of them? So it lowers charm drop rate? Im confused.

A bit of paint incase anyone hasn't watched that Youtube Video.

Ring of Wealth evens out the second "rare list", so that the rarer items on that become easier to obtain.

For the last time. Charm rates are the same NO MATTER WHAT. You may think Blues are rarer without a RoW, but chances are you've just done a slayer assignment and killed <200 monsters. Not enough for conclusive proof. Kill 200,000 then come back.

Lets say this monster have 20 slots on it's charm wheel. Twelve slots are gold charms, three slots are crimsons charms, three slots are green charms, one slot is blue, and the last slot is no charms at all.

Even blue is the rare charm it doesn't matter because a monster like that would have three wheels: Charm wheel, regular drop wheel, and a special rare drop wheel that is activated when you land on 'rare drop' on the regular drop wheel.

So with a Row I don't have a better chance of a rare item in itself. But a rarer item in the rare list?

Like, with a Row at GWD if I get a rare item I have a better chance of getting a hilt than an armour piece?

Correct.

225 kills (roughly) without ROW=4 armor pieces.

225 kills (roughly) with Row= 1 claw drop.

I had a triple whip drop last night, out of 135 kills, no row used.

I maintain a fairly steady pair of d boots per 110 kills (over 40 pairs so far) all without a ROW.
