i grew up playing diablo2 and slowly converted into playing purist, on bnet. aka no trading, or help from other people. so naturally, when i made my rs character just over 2 years ago, i decided id make a purist rs character^^ aka a diy'er. i've made 2 trades in my journies unfortunatly. though they were quest items, which i had to make an exception for to enjoy the game. (shield of arrav, heros quest)

 

 

 

i get my cash for summon/construction/throne of misc mainly from slaying atm. rune full helms, mystic items, rune items from clue rewards, etc, i only solo bosses and i dont pk or pvp at all ;x

 

 

 

ill post a pic of my ge history here if anyone wants, after im done sgwd attempt. getting roughly 2-3kills per trip with monks atm^_^

 

 

 

this'll be my characters log/achievement goal thread.

 

 

 

Goals atm (certainly long term)

 

85 construction (probobly through oak planks and mahongany planks i get from clue scrolls)

 

96 summon, currently 81 ( i plan on getting through slayer, and bursting with runes i get from slayer points/barrows)

 

99 slayer

 

99 defence (i plan on getting through slayer)

 

90 crafting (i plan on getting through mining/smithing gold ore, which should get me 99 mining and 95 smithing)

 

70 rc

 

82 herblore (i plan on getting through slayer and throne of misc)

 

 

 

gear im going for atm :

 

sara sword, sara hilt, bandos hilt, bandos top/bottom, godsword shards, fire cape, verac skirt/flail

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

my bank and main slayer outfit and ge log:

Whoa thats a pretty impressive achievement that you got 99 ranged without any trading. Usually the DIYers are pretty low leveled, but from what I can see in your outfit your doing pretty well =D> =D> Post a skills picture please :)

when it comes to training, its not as inefficient as you'd think.. i can still mine 1k iron ore an hour banking it. i can train hunter just as efficiently as anyone else -_- only thing it comes down to that would be annoying is prayer :P

if you checked my bank pictures out, i have over 15mil in ranarrs/pray pots atm. i have supplies for over 2k super att pots, and 1k super str pots, ive barrowed almost everything ill need ,except vflail and skirt -_-

it was intense, getting 80 crafting for glory amulets. i had to go so long without them, that when i finally was able to make them, edgeville and karamja teleports amazed me so much -_- keep in mind this is my first rs character ever, so i was right into skilling, so i had the patience to level mining, smithing, fishing, etc ;p

 

 

 

mined/smithed 120k+ iron knives and slayed 98range to get whip, was combat lvl 104ish when i was 85 slayer^^

current goals are getting 110k gold ore for 99 mining, 95 smithing and 90 crafting.

 

i forgot to add that i use npcs, only if they have infinite stock. if i achieve this goal ill be selling 40k+ chaos runes and 15kish blood runes until i have enough tokkul for 2 onyx gems^^

 

 

 

and the other thing im working on atm is soloing a ss and sara hilt. if i can manage to get hilt/shards, maybe ill stand a chance meleeing bandos and zamorak gwd. ive tried ranging bgwd half a dozen times, each time nearly a kill :(

not as much as you'd think :) did you see my bank pics yet? thats pretty much just from getting 89 slayer. if the task doesnt drop crimson charms or clue scrolls, i cancel it :P i got my visage camping steels ofc, but i was only camping them in hopes of dlegs, which i got later on during a task. ive killed maybe 2k steel drags total. maybe 500 iron drags. both dlegs and visage from steels tho^^

 

 

 

i did one straight week of barrows for the items i have right now, maybe it was a week and a half. i was addicted and couldnt stop :o

i clean my bank out a bit. un needed secondary ingredients for herblore/summ, etc. but yea.. hopefully it doesnt get too bad later on

its a blast i dont know what youre talking about. if i had traded at all, i wouldnt even be iinterested in rs anymore. i wouldnt have gotten nearly as far

When you're beginning and your levels are 45-50 it's easily one of the most frustrating things in the game to not be able to trade. But once you work through that and get your account to high levels like he did, I'm sure it's very fun. He's just playing the game to have fun, what's wrong with that?
