Easier to get your first 99 then your second and so on?

NOTE:Im not talking about how fast a skill is to get to 99, I'm talking about the mental part of it.

I was thinking about this today when I was in east falador today. That is were I got my first 99, firemaking. I sat there and said to myself.

"I don't think I could ever do that again!"

Then it dawned on me that it was actually easy to get my first 99. I really didn't figure on how long it would take me, I just got it. Once I got that first one down, I realized, it would be harder for me to get a second one. I knew how long 13,034,431xp would take, and it put a negative to getting a second one.

So my question is: Do you think it was easier to get your first 99, since you didn't know what to expect from it?

Well compared to some people, I don't have A LOT of 99s (4), but I have a decent amount.

And I would definitely say the next 99s are easier. My first was cooking in f2p, so I kept looking at my xp and tracking it by every thousand xp or so. Needless to say, it was painful. My next 99, however (strength), I sort of learned just to not think about keeping such a close eye on xp to see if I'm "on track" or not (there IS such thing as OVERplanning!) and to just enjoy the ride.

To answer your title question, I say yes, it is.

Yes. In fact, I still haven't got round to getting a second 99 yet. Guess it doesn't help that my first was one of the slower ones. Been over 18 months since I got it and I still don't feel like getting a second one.

My 99's have become easier and easier to get, not in terms of actually being easy but being motivated and knowing how to plan for them. 99 Slayer is taking me forever, but I know I'll eventually get it (mid Ooctober  )with the plan I created.

The worst stretch is 96-98 when going for any 99. If you can get to 98 then you're fine, but 96-98 is probably the worst few levels to get IMO

My first 99 (cooking) was very agonising the last few levels.

After that, its been getting better.

The last 97 and 98 are the levels which set me off track the most.

If I manage to get to 98, im home safe for getting it to 99. :P

It depends on the person.

I have been unable to get a single 99 in all my time of playing and if/when I ever do get one, it will have happened over a very long period of time.

Other people can manage a few and start to grow very tired of the monotony.

Others find it increasingly less difficult after each 99.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it depends on the person, their wealth and so on. I can't say too much myself since my only two 99's are firemaking and cooking which I basically bought so I don't know. But I have a few other skills with somewhat high Exp. so I know what you're talking about when you say you know how long 13m Exp takes.

i think it varies person to person.

some people might think a 2nd 99 would be easier. not me.

i dont take any joy in any other skill cept the one i love, so i couldnt really get 99 in any others :?

Looks like we have people who are both.

I found it hard because I knew what was going to happen. 96-98 woodcutting was horrible... same goes for fletching.

I guess it would also depend on how much you like that skill. I loved firemaking for some reason when I was going for 99, not quite sure why though but the levels just kept flying by. On the other hand I despise cooking and getting 99 seemed to take forever. I love agility and when I was training that a bit it seemed to fly by as well.

Crafting was very hard. I got cooking a few days later and it seemed to go by easily since I could actually look at other tabs while doing it. I'm currently getting Firemaking however... not easy at all, the fast xp doesn't seem to exist with all of the grind clicking.

It's definitely gotten a lot easier. 99 Woodcutting was like the ultimate Everest for me in F2P, and now 3 99's later I just seem to be over the peak and am just kind of soaking up the xp. Then again, Cooking and Construction were just spontaneous decisions courtesy of boredom, and Defence was just because I was sick of buying members' food.

It's always been pretty easy.

I rarely look at my experience and just keep training the skill until each level, do something else for the rest of the day then continue with it the next day.

First one, fletching, took forever. Second one, ranged, was pretty quick because I didn't really start training towards 99 until about 92, and I chinned it. Third was magic, didn't feel as long because I started at 94. But no, the 96-99 levels never get easier. And I actually thought 98-99 was a lot harder than 97-98 for magic :?

I feel 98-99 is always the worst. I think it's the anxiousness to get 99 and finally being so close.

Since my first 99 was attack, I think almost any other 99 I end up getting as me 2nd will be easy. I am almost half way to melee 99's, and I can now easily afford an easy buyable, and could afford prayer/construction if I wanted too. However, getting 99 is kinda boring, so I am leaving attack cape untrimmed for now. HP will probably be my next 99, without SW or PC too.

Nope. It's far easier getting your next 99s because after the first one or two 99s levels 1-90 seem like a complete joke. Anything under 400-500k for 1 level almost seems laughable after having to get 1,200,000 exp for 1 single level...especially if one of your 99s is a hard to obtain one like Slayer, Runecrafting or Mining. 1,200,000 Slayer exp for me was the largest level challenge to date, so most levels after getting that seem like pie.
