too bad they deleted it. their making a new mmo though. still using the same game engine, but they cancelled the game some weeks before its launch. and their new project is called stollar dawn... like my username:)

Yeah am I the only one finding that a little suspicious? I suppose it could just be me being a bit paranoid over fake emails, but I really don't see why Jagex would make such a huge thing over it. I mean I know they got the Runescape hacker done, but it's not like he was stealing from their customers... I dunno, it just seems a bit suspect. :mellow:

I don't know much about google, so I'm not sure how fake it is.

Yeah, I'd really like to see this video, hopefully someone can upload it somewhere Jagex won't create a lawsuit out of. (They seem to be enjoying themselves with their lawsuits on all different things as of late!)

For those still interested, I found a link when I was trying to get this video after it was taken down, it's on Megaupload. Not quite sure if I should be posting the link though considering a lot of the legal issues surrounding it! Perhaps PMs would be ok though? :)

Yea, I think a lot of the hype is (was?) still present after the video due to it being Jagex's title and different to RuneScape! I think the major issue being that the same Engine's been used for MechScape as is in RuneScape, causing a lot of similarities in the core-system, just having content that differs. I can obviously see why it's been done, considering how long they've spent perfecting that Engine over the years, but it would be awesome to have an entirely newly developed MMORPG brought out by Jagex - with no ties to Runescape whatsoever!

 

I'm quite glad they've taken things back to the drawing board, so to speak, with this. I'm pretty sure there's a lot we didn't see with the video, but for the large part it would be good for Jagex to truly make this a seperate title to RuneScape and really make it worth everything we've been told about it.

I've just seen the footage (Thank You!) and I must say I am extremely impressed :thumbup:

 

And I am convinced that MechScape is Gielinor in the future. Somewhere towards the end of the video, the is like a collaboration of fights and at one point the player right-clicks on what appears to be a boss monster.

 

Now I don't have the greatest eyes, but I am sure it said "Attack Kalphite Queen". Then, I also spotted during that clip the colour and the rough shape of this monsters body. It looks extremely similar to the KQ.

 

I must say again: I can't wait for MechScape. Ccongratulations Jagex~ =D>

Either way, it doesn't surprise me. Jagex has been moving in the typical corporatist direction for a while now. If you don't believe me, check out the front page of RuneScape. Look familiar?

 

Oh, and not to mention the fact that they asked all fansites to ban adverts talking about other games. Those who didn't are now being punished somewhat.

 

Soon they'll be hiring people from India in order to work the new 24/7 technical support phone service!

@The guy on Zybez forums. He should have gave the video to /b/ then he would be safe, Jagex wouldn't dare venture to sue 4chan or /b/ it would be easily the worst mistake ever made.
