I completly disagree with granzi's proposal of maing all these new threads.

A~ Its basically spam

B~ its unnecessary

C~Do we expect everyone to post in our own threads or in other threads or what?

I also think that it will be terribly confusing; for example if I say something along the lines of "I'm send twenty men towards the Ac-16" Someone can say something along the lines of "You cancel those or i'm starting a full blown war" With two seperate threads though it'll just all confusing and everyones heads will explode.

 

I do think we should type IC more, however; most people won't do it unless we give them a motive to do it: Hint, Hint

Yeh but still, its not as if you want to swarm the tavern in diffrent threads that are only ever going to get about five posts or whatever, or even fill it up with kingdoms.

Also, we'll be getting a new subforum soon but not for the tavern - i'm not sure if its a secret or not.

Anyway, I agree to place this game on hold until we figure out how we're gonna play it. Also, I've always been one to think of these games more of games, than RPs. You can't win a role play. That's why we got a new subforum, instead of being shoved into the far reaches of the library. We do role play, sure, but Hegemony and Kingdom are more along the lines of games than they are simple role plays.

How would you guys feel about restarting and re-placing our home towns? Because I have an idea for non-currency resources. Basically, the map would be separated into 5-6 square areas where one resource, (copper, iron, timber, etc.) would be plentiful, and there would be little else.

I love that idea, it could work with the current map.

 

I was thinking that we have two maps, one to basically show us where everyone is and the other to show resources by some sort of colour coding (or whatever else?) we could have diffrent materials in which we will work with, I was thinking something like; wood, misc metals, fish, livestock and maybe something else.

We could then use that to make dfferent units

 

also, it's nothing like having your home displaced or restarted

a- it was restarted of everyone elses will

b - everything in the hegemony is still in place

Well, I did make a trade district map, which is loosely based off of the different area's varying resources, perhaps we could use that for a basic idea of the different resource areas.

Im thinking of playing, but this is still a bit confusing for my small mind.

Could you either clear the rules up a bit, or tell me in a nutshell, cause i dont get it -.-

Also, dont you need the world map on the first post?

Er, the world map is on the first post. In the hide tag where it says "maps", and then "world"..

 

We are, as you've probably seen, on a short hiatus or something while we try to iron out the rules. If you keep an eye on the thread, maybe you'd like to join in once that's finished - or you can offer your input now, if you choose.

 

The idea is.. you take a civ - it's not important which - plonk it on the map, make a roster, hometown, blahblah, and then just.. play. :P

Please use apostrophe and capital "I", it looks like you're saying "III" as in the Roman number.

Look, you were complaining about this: "there, thier, they're" thing so you can hardly talk.

Despite the fact that you spelled "their" wrong, it's different. III is understandable. Using the wrong there can legitimately change the meaning of a statement.

Now, to discuss something important:

 

We have several things I have seen thrown around on the chats. Some of these are:

 

-Trade proposal

-Granzi's idea

-Monsters guarding tiles to prevent expansionism

-Resource mapping

-etc.

 

Someone needs to gather a full list of these proposals so that we can have a formal vote.

 

 

We still haven't made any progress in these desicions? jesus.

 

1. Paul's idea gets my approval

2. Granzi's idea doesn't get my approval (sorry, but that's just way to much effort. if you want to go all out with your nation, be my guest and have fun, but don't expect anybody else to be able to keep up with you)

3. Monster guarding tile needs a better suggestion. As it is, the battle system takes forever, so maybe for monster maps, there will be a condensed version of the map. This will still take time, but not TOO MUCH time.

4. Resource maps. I got nothing. Are there any websites that generate random maps...WAIT I got it! Age of Empires makes resource maps for you, maybe someone with that game can send an inspirational pic to Ross so he can make an official map out of it?

Or maybe we can just claim percentages of certain resources, out of a list of potential resources (metal, gold, wood, stone)

So mine would be:

60% wood

30% stone

5% gold

5% metal

 

but gold can never exceed 10%

 

Also, we should have an official currency in this game, to make things a bit smoother with trading. Perhaps gold can help determine that?

Latino how about we have random number roles and then use that to determine resources. Also I really dont think its a good idea to force us all together. I for one am planning on having an isolationist kingdom. In addttion to that point if you cram us all together its a bad idea in general because it eliminates all tactics in choosing your position.

Since tomorrow is my last day of school this week, I'll go ahead and use the extra time tomorrow to iron out these issues with Ross and Dungeonal. Since people have had ample time to vote on some of these issues, we'll go ahead and say that the general consensus is in favour of the aforementioned. I apologise for the absence of activity on my part.

Yeah, Dungeon already brought up the monster system and why it needed fixing, but we don't have a system for expansion yet. I think we agreed that there should be some effort required for moving into an unoccupied space, but I don't think we could come up with a system as of yet.

 

As for resource mapping, I think that some areas should be given very rich resources so they are fought over a lot. Aside from that, I don't have too much to say on the subject. I'd love to try to make a map, but I'm all out of ideas.

This game is dying. Why? Because there are so many rules now. How about we just play it like we played the old Hegemony and take it from there?

 

 

Because then we'd just be playing Hegemony. Hegemony didn't have enough rules. The freedom was enjoyable, but this is a more structured environment, and will be very fun...once we figure out how to play. I imagine it'll be like playing Fire Emblem, with a bit more customization, a little slower, and against intelligent humans. Almost like a slowed down version of Age of Empires. Which, when the proper rukles are placed will be a very fun game to play.
