I used to read pictures for sad children, and a lot of its older strips are really awesome, but the newer stuff is just.. bad. He really lost his touch.

I disagree. The old stuff was good in a sense that at times, it was genuinely depressing if you read a whole bunch of them at once. After the last Paul strip, though, that kind of went away, but I still find it enjoyable. Like this one:

Beyond that, I read XKCD, Amazing Super Powers, Cyanide & Happiness, Penny Arcade, and every so often I'll catch Abstruse Goose, Simulated Comic Product (though I think that one's retired now), and SMBC.

[bleep] VGCATS.

I actually really just got tired of pfsc a few months ago. I do agree though that after the main storyline it really lost a lot of what was awesome about it. Some of the filler comics, like the one you posted, are great... but some of them have just been dumb.

Good to see someone else can't stand VGCats. Honestly I'm not sure which one sucks more, CAD or VGcats...

I read xkcd and dinosaur comics every couple of weeks, then catch up on misfile every month or so. I used to be really obsessed with C&H, to the point of joining the forums and talking regularly with Rob and Kris. But I think the comics haven't been that great for a long time.

And just to get it out of the way,

QC, CAD, XKCD and VGCats suck. I feel like I just alienated about 90% of people in this thread one way or another :S.

I've been wondering, why do you not like xkcd?

I read Penny Arcade and xkcd every day they come out, I've tried to find more webcomics but few have interested me. I read all of Unit B a while ago but forgot about it and now I'm not up to date.

I haven't read Misfile in like a year, I was up to the third or fourth book though. I used to read Irregular Webcomic! as well but I haven't in a while. I read xkcd every Mon/Wed/Fri.

Why do Adrenal and Nadril hate xkcd? Some of the jokes are really random but I find them very enjoyable...

Eh, it's hard to really pinpoint why. The jokes just aren't funny and generally he really sucks at delivering a punchline correctly. It's not the worst web comic in the world but it's just really bland. Like you have CAD/VGcats which are just god-awful abominations and crimes against humanity, then you have QC/XKCD which just can never really deliver a punchline correctly and half of the time you read them with a straight face :|.

I wouldn't know, I've never heard of it.

You def should. It feels like sort of the same kind of humor as SMBC, it's just that the art, jokes and punchlines are infinitely better than SMBC. SMBC a lot of times seems to really stumble with a joke.

It's elitist [cabbage].

You need to have a degree or just read wikipedia fervently [like Munroe does, that [wagon][bleep]] to decipher the "joke".

Not all of us are intelligent computer programers or aeronautical engineers. [bleep] it, call me a [developmentally delayed].

Oh and Nadril, the reason I like SMBC, is that it reminds me of the Far Side. You know the whole 1 panel 1 punchline thing.

As you might be able to guess, I enjoy VGCats, though I wish the guy would update it every once in a while.

I used to read a lot of sprite comics, but once I hit puberty I kind of quit because they all sucked. Bob and George I think is the only one I can still laugh at. The Karnak Hates Everything Show is occasionally funny as well, though he quit making that series, which sucks.

Concerned, Half Life and death of Gordon Frohman was pretty friggin hilarious.

I find it funny, but I'm part of the demographic that xkcd is aimed at, that is programmers or people interested in computer science that use Linux.

I'm 15 and I get the majority of them (Although there are some ones that are way beyond me that I'll probably get when I'm like 20). But like I said though it's not for everyone, and it's not meant that everyone would understand it. xkcd is a lot like Dilbert in that it's aimed at a certain kind of person, but unlike Dilbert it makes no big attempt to be amusing to people outside that demographic. Elitist, I don't know. It is definitely written from a very computer-literate perspective though, and it often slights people who don't get the internet/computers in general.
