It's an item from Legends quest, which when used, makes an animation of you rocking it above your head (it's kind of flail-like) together with a load sound, which very many finds annoying.

Because of this, a lot of people tend to use this in high crowed areas as the ge, at pest control, sw, other crowed banks and similar.

 

Ah, yes, that thing. I saw it the other day. Couple of people were using it at the GE, but since I don't have any sounds on, it didn't bother me.

The bull roarer also keeps spinning if you switch weapons after clicking the bull roarer.

I'm almost 100% certain the frequency at which one could activate it used to be much lower, and it was tolerable then.

So... If they just slowed it down to let's say once every 15 seconds, it would be tolerable again.

Or... As Bruno said, they could just mute it to everyone except the swinger, like they do with the Slayer Bell or Crystal Chimes (although honestly those two particular sounds aren't annoying anyway).

 

Honestly, the opposition: Do you not have anything better to do than annoy people who are trying to enjoy themselves in the game? -.-

If you ran around people making annoying sounds in real life you'd only get a few warnings before someone kicked your teeth in.

I have never ever used the good old 2-bit audio, so I could care less. :P

I personally find them extremely annoying and see no point to why i have to listen to another persons quest item. It's just like the dog whistles were(even though these dont make my rl dog spaz out)

I don't necessarily feel the need to annoy people, and actually have only used the bull roarer once outside of Legends quest. I'm just protecting my Freedom of Teh Interwebs. I see no reason why someone should be punished for making a noise, especially when people can easily just press a few buttons if they don't like it. Seriously, in the time that it takes to shout at someone for doing this, you could have turned off or adjusted your sound to your liking, and with much less effort.

 

And RS=/=RL. There is no mute button IRL. If someone is this easily annoyed, it's a wonder they survive on the internet at all.

I actually find it hilarious to spam the bullroarer at the GE. There are so many noobs there and to be honest, seeing all of their reactions is priceless. I've noticed that a vast majority of players either play with sound off or ignore it altogether.

 

I'm also making it a requirement for every one of my friends attending my 99 slayer party to have a bullroarer and to spam it non-stop.

Protip: use the bull roarer then use the bank or GE exchange clerk and you will swing it for quite some time before having to click again.

Ya it never bothers me... but then again i have my area sounds turned low .

Now that there is no update this week, we get to keep the sound a bit longer!

The sound itself once in a while, for a short interval isn't the problem; rather, it's when you hear it for your entire venture to the Grand Exchange or every time you're at the Grand Exchange (or possibly other areas) that becomes an issue.

Nobody here who is complaining is really as sensitive as you're making them out to be, so don't take point on that.

If you use speakers/headphones with adjustible sound, just mute it.

I myself like the voice. It somehow relaxes me. :rolleyes: I`d want to keep it as it is, since people can turn it off themselves.
