The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)

Featured Replies

I'll check the last 20 or so pages, I'm pretty sure you said you sent troops to indonesia.

Also, that still doesn't answer the question of why the hell they would agree to a federation which would leave them unable to quit without being changed into a wasteland.

Well if you mean the fleet that is around Indonesia, then that is correct. But that's a federation fleet, so it's essentially Indonesia. Besides, they COULD quit, but now they'd have to have a big reason to quit rather than to join. So inertia is on my side.

The only difference between a disagreement between friends, an argument between strangers, and a feud between enemies is the ability to reconcile.

[hide=Lots of posts]

But the 5 day rule is goddamn stupid. It becomes a game of whoever can "Initiate talks" with the most countries at once.

I know...But Sere disagrees and imposed it. I wanted a system of influencing other countries by percentage points, so that if one country didn't want another country to take over one of its neighbours it could stop it, without annexing that country...

But Sere said it was too complicated, and no one else cared to vote....

Except then they would get overstretched and be destroyed.

----------------

I have basically formed a union with two countries, created a tribal administered territory, and a city state. <_<

Maybe just limit it?

You can only annex upto 3 countries, then you can only annex through war afterwards

Does a tribally administered territory with no military or economic value count as a country? :P

Ico-

That would would cause so many problems....I mean look at penguin annexing 2 very small countries....

Or if I wanted Lichtenstien....

Annexing in general is a stupid system to use in this game. It eliminates the need for combat until all the countries have been annexed. By which point there are 2-3 people with supercountries because they annexed goddamned everything.

Ross...there is no way to stop that. War needs a moderator...otherwise it is just war by majority and the world is carved up like that...

Retech-

Yes it still counts as a country...

Hmmm, well hopefully it will die down, otherwise, I think we should [bleep] pile the next load of annex's, I mean right now I'm only getting Kazakhstan

I thought it was a rule stated at the beginning that there would be no moderator. If there is a moderator, I vote Icu is the moderator.

I wonder how long it would take to repay the US deficit.

I like the idea of us discussing and voting, its like regular politics..

@Sere

AGES, America's debt is massive, its better to just ignore it like they have been and just wait and wait and wait until BAM recession, which is actually happening now

Sere-

It would never be able to repay it...You have a debt 70 times larger than your ability to repay, and all the time it is getting larger and larger. The only way to stop it is to go back to the Gold standard and lose 69/70ths of your money....Which would destroy the US Dollar, and bring your country tumbling down....Leave it and it will just get worse.

Well then I guess I'll have to peacefully occupy it (not the same as annexing, since I'm still moving my troops in. Just means that the troops won't go bam bam bam!)

-------

You can fix it Sere, though it will take some hard choices. Bill Clinton succeeded in doing it.

Australia continues talks and also peacefully occupies Indonesia.

Yeah. This wont end well for either of us.

[/hide]

You never seem to mention any other country on that page, so one can only assume when you said:

Well then I guess I'll have to peacefully occupy it (not the same as annexing, since I'm still moving my troops in. Just means that the troops won't go bam bam bam!)

You were talking about Indonesia. Therefore you moved troops in before I did. I doubt they would let that go unnopposed, and they definately would not so freely enter a federation with you after that.

Also, to the above post.

Why would they join a federation from which they cannot escape without mass poverty and debt in the first place? It makes no sense.

Oh yeah, Russia bids 150 Mill on Dusty's auction

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Okay, so Icu was the one proposing the three-nation thingy. Then I asked if a tribally-administered territory counted as a country. Archi said no, and I thought that sorta made sense, so I said I was going to peacefully annex the tribally-administered territory, which is Papau New Guinea.

The reason Indonesia would join Japan is quite simple. Better export market, political influence, protection, and investment from Japan to build infrastructure and schooling. I'm basically investing billions of Yen in doing so, so I'm sure they would trust the Federation enough. Not massive debt and poverty, just chaos and instability.

The only difference between a disagreement between friends, an argument between strangers, and a feud between enemies is the ability to reconcile.

But you are also creating a federation which they cannot leave without being plunged into poverty. I highly doubt they would accept that, even if you did 20 days of "Political talks"

Okay, you know what. This is pointless. Go ahead, take Indonesia. The annexation rule has utterly killed this thread in my eyes. In real life, countries are not attempting to annex as much territory as possible, and if they were, it would definately not go unnopposed like this.

Or be involved with any nation positively or negatively affected by the war. So essentially, Switzerland would actually have to be a neutral country.

Ok...

I am calling a vote:

Who wants a moderator to control wars and annexing?

(This voting system is actually rather nice so we can keep both and the voting can overturn my decisions on the same basis(First to 4))

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I vote no moderator

Since this is an important decision, it should be either up to like 7, or a simple majority, with voting concluding tomorrow morning.

Hehe

I gotta go now. Be back after lunchy. Also, could someone please color in Indonesia, South Korea, Papau New Guinea, and Singapore the same color as Japan for me? Everytime I try to do it, it shrinks the picture so it becomes unusable. <_<

Well voting should be finished by tomorrow morning, with a majority vote. (Since lots of people are still not here)

Somilia has been liberated. Invasion of Ethiopia has begun. Assistance from Ogaden National Liberation Front and Somalian Armies brings the total forces up to 300,000. Swiss Jets are bombing constantly.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Ethiopia has been conqured and has joined the Somalian Federation, which has joined the TFTA.

Thanks has been given to Switzerland and Russia for their assistance and Switzerland(and hopefully Russia) have withdrawn.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I vote no I don't want a mod that can participate in the game. Also archi here is an alternative river you can dam that will not result in a massive lawsuit from me http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rh%C3%B4ne . Germany also starts talks in the UN about the unjustness of helping a destitute nation conquer another simply to help a trade agreement.
