If you did text messaging, I'd use it. Any chance you can do that?

 

I've been looking into that, but I can't assure something like this would work for everyone. I've found some examples online that do this through PHP, though people have reported it may or may or not work depending on your country of residence, and mobile carrier.

 

But it is something I'm looking into right now, and could be functional a week from now.

I just recalled that you can send messages to phones by email, so I'll just use that method. :P

 

EDIT: It does not let me register as ##########@messaging.sprintpcs.com so it would seem I cannot do this.

 

EDIT: I made a new email account and will have it forward all emails to my phone as text messages. Should work, we'll see in 1-12 hours ;)

You don't have to register yourself anywhere. Just send yourself an email to: [email protected], where the xxx... is your mobile number. I just tried it on my Verizon (from my gmail account) and it worked.

 

If it's easy as easy that... I could have this up by the end of the day if I have time. :)

I can send emails to my phone via SMS, yes. But I want your service to automatically send the notification to my phone. By default your site sends the emails to the email you registered with.

It's coming. I've tested it out my phone as well as my brother's and the sms works (just like email notification). However, I'm going to add some user verifications (similar to account registration verification) so my service doesn't keep sending GE Update texts to bogus or other's mobile phones. It'll probably be a June 1st release. It'd be a good update to start that month off with. :) A few days of testing should do as well. I don't want to rush it.

 

Now... if only anyone could figure out the GE update pattern. :D (If there even is one)

I've always been interested in if there's a pattern as well, I'm starting to record the update times starting today. Obviously it will take a few dozen days to get any reasonable data.

I'm 90% sure it's completely random though

honestly, how do i get an elysian? i can't get one as a drop i can't buy one from the ge, it doesn't matter how soon i get my offer in, someone's always faster....i have NO LUCK at corp, it just never happens.....this is bs, its the only thing i want on this game and i can't have it

Buy a couple crowns, onyxes, or h'weens, and trade them plus cash. Dispose of the junk however you do. Elysian doesn't have much street anymore at all.

I know elysian has lost almost all of it's street value, I really doubt it can go on much longer so why is it so hard to get one?

I have a feeling a major santa crash is about to occur. Next update they will probably pass blue masks in the ge, I don't think people are going to stand for that.

Could you be more specific than that? Managed to turn coins into 2 greens + blue and santa with about 10mish junk left over after about a week of dealing with an asston of crowns n whatnot, but I'd like to have a less biased opinion on what else I would need for the shield.

 

I've seen a lot of people going for pumpkin+cash... is that about right? and how does pumpkins' value convert to masks/santas?

 

Also, what would I need to eventually upgrade from ely to divine? Seems like trading around would take significantly longer, but it saves 20m+ over trying to snipe.

Haven't seen any signs of a crash yet. But santas drop a few mil every couple of days so I'd wait before calling a dip a crash.

Purchasing a cracker is very difficult from what I've heard. There are a few posts on the RSOF that claim to be selling these, but 90% of them are fake and just trying to get attention. As far as pricing it's basically whatever the seller decides to name. The buyer really doesn't have room to negotiate because they may never find another seller.

geupdate.com released their update prediction service today actually. you could become premium there and apparently see their formula. with over 400 updates detected, i'm guessing their formula is good. It's at least VERY practical to see, thus far, so you don't camp ge :D

I would hope so! If you can't figure it after 400 updates, then I would believe that it's just a totally random time-stamp down to the second, once a day, everyday between 9PM-6PM Central Time. I've read that it does NOT update in between those hours... but that still leaves 21 hours for a completely random time. You can use statistics to try to predict if an update will be early or late, but they're almost kind of useless if it a random time-stamp in the 9PM-6PM central Time every day.

 

Well I've only got maybe 10 updates or so tracked right now, and it's totally random. Though... if the 9PM-6PM Central Time is true, you can at least say "the GE cannot update for another X hours". But after that it would be a 21 hour window if completely random. :(

today, they had the "no update will happen for the next 16 hours". this is apparently 100% accurate unless a jagex employee manually overrides. there is a method to predict it with relative accuracy it seems, but the next stage apparently involves some uncertainty, and the "likelyhood" of an update. May be a heavily weighted probability curve for instance, who knows?`

 

looking forward to seeing what type of formula you get though, if you're willing to release it :D

I have a jQuery plugin creating a chart on the fly, and it just looks totally random based off 12 updates. So yeah, I need a lot more. ;)
