Grim_
By the looks of it (let me check the third player's handbook) drow are not a PC race in 4e yet (also from what I have seen they replaced prestige classes with paragon paths and epic destinies <.<)
Seraphi
Nope, no Drow. You have Dragonborn, Dwarf, Eladrin, Elf, Half-Elf, Halfling, Human, and Tiefling. Just make the typical highborn, arrogant elf character you usually do, you predictable muppet :P
Grim_
Hm I think I will go for a mildly insane barbarian this round (at least until he get's killed and I have to create a new character :P) EDIT: Are we using a point buy system for getting stats or what? However this all came to naught when a group of tiefling warlocks slaughtered almost his entire tribe (excluding himself and his brother [the brother was taken into slavery]). After a time of wandering he came across a mercenary company and with nothing better to do joined up. It should be noted that he received no formal education and is not the most intelligent of people. Another note about his character is that his tribe worshiped both the mace tail and the holy ferret. Seraphi
Awesome. Grim, would you mind helping me learn the system in a little while? I'll just throw you into a room with a few low levelled monsters and then I can learn as I play, because reading these books can only get me so far. I think 4e is fairly simple to understand, so yeah. EDIT: This might help. I haven't checked it out yet, but from the screenshots it looks like it could lighten the load quite a bit. http://www.asmor.com/programs/digitalsquire/index.php SECOND EDIT: This too.http://www.koboldstyle.org/stuff/4eCribSheet_kiznit_v1.1.pdf THIRD EDIT: Also, a complete list of every power card. We probably don't need it, but it's nice to have I suppose.http://www.mediafire.com/?9yigxywq1zc
Grim_
On a completely unrelated note the wizards of the coast character builder trial works for characters up to level three! (Also Ross do you have any idea as to what setting the campaign will be?)
Seraphi
I'm building my own, so get ready to set sail for fail. Here, a world map I made a few days ago at 5:00AM in about 10 minutes. 50 points if you manage to guess the plot within 2 minutes of looking at it! [hide] [/hide] There. I figure that revealing information about all the locations right now would be stupid, since it would kind of be metagaming.
Retech
Ross, what level are we starting our characters at? Also, will you be making a character creator or should I try to find the one Grim was using? Also, what alignment would we be if we were in the cliche position of trying to choose between a compasionate and evil nature. Basically a bloodthirsty, power hungry, Samaritan. Grim_
Retech I believe we are starting at level 3. I guess you can either use the point buy method (for regular results) or the more lulzy method (a dice roll[only once though]) EDIT: Possibly good with evil tendencies? or Evil with Good tendencies? Retech
I was reading through the players handbook, and I found it hard to use it, since I'd have to scroll up and down in the PDF to follow its instructions. I think I'd choose a corrupted Eladrin, since Drow isn't an option. Master of your domain? I am Lord of the manor, Queen of the castle, King of the county! Seraphi
Grim found one. I tend to make them overly complex, this just tells you "Follow the red arrows" in a comforting tone. http://www.pathguy.com/cg4.htm We're starting at level three. Use point buy. http://www.asmor.com/scripts/4eAbilityScores/index.php That would be unaligned, I guess. Possibly evil. Just choose one of those and I'll accept it as what you want your personality to be.
Retech
I suppose unaligned. I was wondering from a gameplay perspective, since I'm sure that NPCs would judge you based on alignment, and I don't like being judge based on a one size fits all alignment. Master of your domain? Seraphi
Nah, they'll judge you based on how I think somebody would judge you. I mean, at the start, if you burn a town, then the next town you go to might have heard of somebody burning a town, but unless you literally shout "I BURNED THAT TOWN AND HERE IS THE HEAD OF THE MAYOR AS PROOF", then they're only going to be mildly suspect, based on the direction you came from. Of course, at later levels you get more well known, so people may be slightly prejudice against you because they heard a story where you killed some guys cousin's brother's friend's dog. Grim_
And now my character is bound to do that at least once in the story :P (Though if I die I will just come back as his long lost [ex] slave brother)

Seraphi
Tough, yes, but if characters are getting slaughtered left right and centre, then there is probably a problem, or you are playing Tomb of Horrors.
Grim_
Yeah from what I have seen (been trolling reading through /tg/) death is a definite part of the D&D experience (hell I worked in several ways for me to come back when my idiot barbarian bites the dust)

Grim_
Sorry earth but (at least for now [i have some ideas about how to balance out a limited 3.5 spell range in 4e [thus creating the 3.875 abomination] which I will not get into]) you need to go by the books for your character (the two that ross allows me to release) EDIT: Let me upload the power cards I have!
