From 2005-2007 when I was most active on RS and I used Swiftswitch I would be on IRC at all times, in #slams, #novus, and #swiftchat (I forget if it was called that or something else.) But nobody really goes on the IRC channels I went on anymore so no, I don't use IRC anymore.

I use IRC a lot. Mainly just a couple of channels though. And not while I'm doing something on RuneScape that needs me to actually pay attention to what I'm doing.

If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.

Current results clearly show that IM (Instant Messaging) services (which are also bundled with Voice/Video Chat capabilities) busted IRC. Oh, and also social networks.

I was an occasional irc user, now I use it quite rarely (I voted for rarely). IRC still has it's uses, you see.

IRC, or "Internet Relay Chat" is like a...Giant chatroom of sorts, ones based around RuneScape have players who play RuneScape, RuneScape related Bots (Not RuneScape bots, but little help-tools on IRC to track your XP gains, or ones to check the prices of items on the Grand Exchange--Taken from the Grand Exchange Database). RuneScript is one of these "bots", which is a Partner of Tip.It. Tip.It has its own IRC server which you can access by following several simple steps.

I'm on IRC whenever I'm on Rs.

Our clan communicates primarily in #Tal_Shiar on netgamers, and i try to join tipit whenever I remember. It's usually completely dead though, which is a little sad.

With the exception of screenshots, Runescript kinda has an "Anything you can do, I can do better" thing going on with swiftkit, or at least I see it that way.

Rs client, mirc, itunes, and a web browser all fit nicely onto a single screen - and you can use resizeable windows.

msn/gchat, vent, ts, skype and xfire do everything irc can, but better.

No, they really don't. How do you clan/stat check someone on MSN? How do you organize officials and members in a clan on MSN?

Most IRC users come from the time before the clan chat was created, it was the primary means of communications for clans. Since the clan chat update, clans still prefer IRC to Clan Chat for multiple reasons, which is why it's still so big.

I wish I quoted this but I didn't, but I add a +1 to what Carl_Dublin wrote when he said: I'd be lost without IRC.

I have lived my life to the best of my ability, but I have not been able to escape fate, anger, or pain.

Bring me the answers, and the road that leads to truth, reveal to me once and for all, how all of this will end.

Shadows cannot exist without the light. But without the shadows, the light has no meaning.

Actually you can add RuneScript to MSN, but yeah... different discussion.

Oh, and IRC was created in 1988, so it's hardly new.

I use IRC a lot and love it. :)

Apart from Tip.It's server, I also use #clans (Tip.It's clan discussion channel), #tsg (The Slayer's Guild's channel) and #octane (a friend's channel) on Swift.

You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?
