Okay, on the issue of trade. Basically you choose a trade route (Germany to New Zealand, or something), then you have several options. You can try to get some merchants to use the trade route, or do a government build up of the trade route and basically do all the trading yourself. Then I can give you a price to start and then maintain the trade routes each decade, and the economic strength (how much economy you gain per decade). Also, having monopolies improves that as well, like controlling all the trade routes in a region.

 

Could everyone making a unique unit please PM me about it, with a quick description. Copy and paste your post if necessary, but I'd like to handle that in a PM, to make it easier.

thats because none of you ead my rants, because they were rants. you dont get the fact that i made mine underpowered after you guys told me they were OP. 1000 units per unique units. powerfull. semi-imune to arrows. tough. so? you have several easy ways to beat them. ambush. seige. better accuracy. weapons specifically made to pierce armor. i even made it so i may be unable to remake them for qquite a while. tell me, over powered, or underpowered?

Okay okay okay. I think I'll give my verdict now, regardless of whether it is needed or not.

 

I think that wars should be decided arbitrarily. Certain troops are going to have advantage in certain scenarios or when using certain strategies/tactics, and that should be accounted for. The advantage needs to be large enough that it makes each troop distinct compared to another troop.

 

Earth, those hell knights are stupid. 1000 knights? What? 1000 people could kill even the most incredibly skilled and powerful warrior ever simply by charging at him in a big crowd and stamping on him until he dies. Hell, 50 people could probably do that.

 

Just because you can make unique units, doesn't mean you should make them absurd, and just because you have made them absurd, doesn't mean everyone else should.

 

"Oh hey, my unique units are people who can turn into gas. The gas is inhaled by your hell knights and then IT TURNS INTO SWORDS."

 

Onto something which is actually relevent:

they arent. im not even using them anymore! i actually made it worse for myself, scince i told everyone their weaknesses, made them exceptionally weak, and made their training costs absurd. it would have made it easier for people to actually let me use them after i had toned them down. but noooo.. they kept on yelling about OPness, after all that. but hey, ill stop with them now. ive said enoguh about them, and ive already given ou my research plans and my unique unit to techy.

Even the strongest NPC countries are weaker than player countries, but defenders usually have the avantage. The exception is the Egyptians, who are basically against all of you during the crusades.

there is the fact that i dont have any weapons. im starting with nothing, seeing as im taking scottish overtakings wipe out msot of the weapons, troops, and skills needed to run an empire. i need to relearn those skills. happy days for me..

That's a very literal interpretation. No need to be that strict about it. Assume that if it's middle age-ish, and you can afford it, then you can probaly make it.
