Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

There's no denying that the resulting spectacle will be interesting. I'm all for the idea of two movies, as I have yet to see a movie that is faithful to the book. But like Tacodude said, how are they going to do it now that they've dug themselves into a hole?

I was willing to forgoe the removal of the battle in HBP... but I DID NOT like the removal of Dumbledore's funeral. The man deserved a proper send off on screen and it's like they just said 'LOL HE'S DEAD LETS STAND AT THE TOP OF A TALL TOWER AND THAT'S IT NOW' <_<

I thought I read somewhere that it's going to be in this movie, though I'm probably mistaken. ._o

But yeah, that sucked. D:

If it were to take place in this movie (I highly doubt it will), the only proper spot would be at the very beginning of the film, and I think the filmmakers would know what a terrible beginning that would be. :P

Also at the end of HBP, i don't believe Harry said he wouldn't come back to Hogwarts (which i believe happened in the book) so that could open the going to the Hogwarts Express.

This part should be interesting

EUREKA!

She looked rather like Mrs Weasley as she said it, and he was glad that the back door opened at that moment. Luna and Dean entered, their hair damp from the rain outside and their arms full of driftwood.

"...and tiny little ears," Luna was saying, "a bit like a hippo's, Daddy says, only purple and hairy. And if you want to call them, you have to hum; they prefer a waltz, nothing too fast..."

Looking uncomfortable, Dean shrugged at Harry as he passed, following Luna into the combined dining and sitting room where Ron and Hermione were laying the dinner table. Seizing the chance to escape Fleur's questions, Harry grabbed two jugs of pumpkin juice and followed them.

"...and if you ever come to our house I'll be able to show you the horn, Daddy wrote to me about it but I haven't seen it yet, because the Death Eaters took me from the Hogwart's Express and I never got home for Christmas," Luna was saying, as she and Dean relaid the fire.

It seems to me that this thread has done two things for me.

1)Re-kindled the old fan-boy (not as bad as some people i've seen, though)

2)Re-read the dang books so i can tell which gaping plot holes they left.

This feels exceptional on my under-carriage.

I just finished re-reading DH yesterday.

Normally I don't read the books right before a movie comes out, but this is one of my least-read Harry Potter books, so I didn't think a refresher would hurt.

It kind of just reinforces the depression that it's over. D:

Edit: Page four, teehee.

I've only read the books once each, but I'm not worried about refreshing my memory. I know what I need to know.

Ooh the joys, another film being sold as 3D... Why do they feel the need to ruin every fricking film by making you wear those annoying glasses and then have nothing jump out at you like 3D is supposed to do! :shame:

I'll have to go and see it though as it's HP... Hopefully I'll be able to find a 2D screening of it.

Why can't the Big Bang be done by the hand of God?

It could have, but it is next to impossible because it also could have been caused by the flying spaghetti monster, or one of the other infinite number of deity possibilities.

Luckily, most theaters still show the standard 35mm ("non-3D") versions of the film, so you shouldn't be forced to watch any film's 3D version if you don't want to.

The trailer simply looks amazing. I love Harry Potter and can't wait for the next installment in this magical series.

In my opinion they have went downhill each one until HBP which was somewhat decent. Hoping this one doesn't get totally ruined and is decent.

Pretty much my feelings too. HBP wasn't too bad in comparison but they could easily mess up Deathly Hallows >.<

[hide=Movie Spoiler]Warner Brothers, in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly confirmed that Harry releases Hedwig prior to leaving Privet Drive. wtf.

I know it's a terribly sad part of the book... but seriously... Hedwig better die in the movie.... <_<

Also, I'm just including this picture because when I saw it in the magazine, I literally squealed out loud like a little girl.

Deathly Hallows has received a PG-13 rating from the MPAA!

So happy!

:twss:

Probably because of the Ron and Hermione lovemaking scene.

Retired

2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes

Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.

What's a PG-13 in Brit speak?

^I would imagine a 12A.

I sincerely hope that they don't show any lovemaking -- between anyone -- in this movie. :-w

I think, from what I've gathered on reading about the locket scene in the woods, it just will show Hermione and Harry embracing with no clothes on.

But I'm pretty sure it's getting it's sterner rating due to all of the violence that takes place in 99% of the film, rather than a quick bare shoulder that we'll see on screen for like ten seconds. :P And I'm sure Molly screaming out, "Not my daughter, you [bleep]!" doesn't do anything to help, either. ;)

Also, who else is excited that Warner Bros. pulled the plug on releasing Part One in 3D? I for one am very happy that they decided against it. As we'll all remember, a previous 3D movie of theirs -- Clash of the Titans -- was released after going through a shoddy 2D->3D conversion process, and the film was ridiculed endlessly for it's poor visual effects.

While I am still not so sure how I feel about watching Part Two of the movie in 3D (they still plan on releasing Part Two in 3D and 2D both), at least they will be able to dedicate more time to making the second half look as best as possible in this format.

glut.gif

I'm glad it will be 2D only. Also, having Part 2 in 3D sounds pretty stupid if Part 1 is not.

Not necessarily. There's probably more action in part 2 which usually makes 3D more appealing (to people who actually enjoy 2D movies converted into 3D).

I'd probably still see it in 2D anyway, all of the 3D movies I've seen ('cept Avatar) seemed pretty much 2D to me. I'd rather save the extra $4.
